Also, in the novel the tour vehicles were Toyota Land Cruiser's instead of Ford Explorer's like in the movie. You can say Dr.Hammond spared no expense, lol.
Z3 krieg In the novel The Lost World, Malcolm's team has one modified-Ford Explorer that is solar-powered by panels on its' roof and hood. It is equipped with three Lindstradt Air Guns, and has a computer monitor linked with the trailers systems. It was manufactured by Thorne Field Systems.
I remember going to see this movie with my dad. Great memories, and scared the crap outta me. I still look for raptors in the kitchen when it's late at night.
This explorer looks fantastic in person, looks straight out of the movie. Was leaving a local bar and grill when he pulled in, I had to turn around and take pictures. To see my favorite movie rig up close was the coolest thing ever. He was really cool answering questions and pointing things out. Blew my mind to see it. I've seen their delorean around town also. Cool guy
I had a teacher in middle school who painted his Ford Explorer jurassic park themed. Was super cool and I sometimes see it driving by, puts a smile to my face.
Jurassic Park is my favorite movie series of all time. I’ve seen all 5 current films, and i plan to see the 6th one when it comes out. I have always wanted to get a first gen explorer and do it up JP style. Amazing car, awesome work!
Heck yea!! I love the Jurassic Explorer!! I’m a huge Explorer fan!! I love my 2001 Explorer Sport Trac that is 5.0 302 V8 swapped on 33 inch mud tires lol with many modifications!!
Fun fact. The scene in Jurassic Park when the girl was supposedly hacking into the security system was actually just the GUI for a Silicon Graphics Indigo workstation which just happens to be the basis for the Nintendo 64 which was still 3 years away. You can see a similar interface in the main menu of Mario 64.
I also had that same JP behind the scenes tape with host James Earl Jones, and loved it for all the same reasons, and eventually went to film school as I pursued my passion for filmmaking that began with that VHS tape.
I used to love the hell out of this jeep when I was a kid. I remember thinking "That's so cool." when I first saw it.. Brings me back.. ♥️ Edit: I call all SUV's "jeeps".. Done it since I was a kid. Probably never gonna stop. Fight me.
@@Justin-bb7oi Lol TIL not every SUV is called a "jeep".. I've sorta been doing that my whole life and never recognized Jeep is it's actual own brand. My mistake..
As a 20+ year owner of one of these the Ford 4.0L Cologne V6 engine is far from a "piece of shit". Cooling is not an issue of you keep fluids changed and use a quality thermostat. A big killer of these was really just bad maintenance by previous owners...well, and the A4LD Automatic. Also, the fan isn't electric. It attaches to the crankshaft via right hand thread thermal clutch.
Now, that's the best fan-made replica I have ever seen in my life. If I were fortunate to come across a 1992 Ford Explorer XLT that someone wanted to sell at a fair reasonable price, I would definitely buy it, take it off of their hands and convert it into my very own film-accurate replica of the Jurassic Park tour vehicle on the outside and inside down to the last detail, and I would drive it to a Halloween costume party dressed up as a Jurassic Park tour guide and enter it in a car show.
I just keep picturing this truck falling down a big ass tree! Or when the T. rex pushed down the glass because he wanted a snack ! The 90’s were the shit!
Love this. My first car was a 92 Explorer XLT 4 door. I wanted to do this conversion SOOOOOO bad on mine, but I quickly realized it wasn't going to happen on minimum wage. It makes me happy knowing this exists
I kind of want to get one of these, and just have have a sticker on the back that says "this isn't a Jeep". Because every noncar person thinks these are Jeeps lol.
What I want to see is the silver and blue Toyota FJ80 Land Cruisers from the Jurassic Park book. Not sure why they chose Explorers for the movie. "Spared no expense" indeed. :P
Living in LA you see these cars alot, also see the jp jeep often, and every once in a while, you would see a whole parade of movie cars driving around universal city or downtown la, the mystery machine was always one of my faves
Oh Yeah The Jeep Wrangler Is In Jurassic Park As Well Let's Not Forget Future Jurassic Park Movies Used Mercedes Benz Trucks And SUV'S From The G-Wagen To The Unimog
If I remember correctly this was the first movie to debut the Explorer. I also believe Twister was the first movie to debut the new Dodge Ram remodel which was so ahead of his time back then.
Is it theoretically possible to get, like, a modern Ford Explorer with all the modern amenities, but have it painted and kitted out to look sorta like the movie car?
David is correct on the guitar string. Unlike the guys in Branson Missouri tell a true JP fan. There's a small car movie Museum down there. They have some cool cars though.
Life finds a way.
indeed
Now you need to drive the Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler.
Life always finds a way to terrify and yet fascinate us
Wow, they even got the dome top. Absolutely immaculate. Also this>Mercedes product placement that followed in the sequel.
And you always find a way to deliver quality content! Great job as always!
Jurassic Park was so ahead of its time and remains to be one of the greatest movies of all time
My favorite movie!!!
Unseamingstew01 same here it’s one of my favorites
I love Jurassic park it’s my favorite movie. I love dinosaurs in general tbh lmao
if they made it accurate to the book and not a kiddie movie it would be awesome
@@unseamingstew0185 mine too!

I see more 90s Land Cruisers on the road now than a first gen Explorer lmao
What about the ML mercedes?

General Esdeath i see more too, however i see lots of the second gen explorers
This is awesome...also kinda funny that he sounds alittle like Jeff Golblum.
And he's name is Jeff too!
5:03 Toyota pick up from toystory review coming soon
Busted!
Damn got them eagle eyes! Let’s go to pizza planet!
I remember going to see this movie with my dad. Great memories, and scared the crap outta me. I still look for raptors in the kitchen when it's late at night.
Same
Agreed lol
If you wanted dinosaurs all you had to do was come to Florida!

I can’t even lie, I always liked those old squarebody explorers

Right
!? I have a weakness for the old explorers would love to find a clean 1st gen and v8 swap it.
Wow, that Explorer is done so well! Beautiful replica!!
Ahhhh childhood nightmares have come back to haunt me in the form of a that dude in blue video 🤤
Sorry not sorry :D
Sick! He liked my comment!! Made my day
Is this guy tony stark? Bruh he straight reminds me of iron man.
He actually does play Tony Stark. He has lots of awesome costumes that are spot on! I grew up with this guy.
He’s that dude in blue in 20 years!
Drugs are bad. Mmkay

1:43 Is that Richard Kiley doing the voice? I hope they didn't spare that expense
Nice, cool and different from what you normally do. Hopefully you were able to make a video with the Toy Story truck in the background at 5:02 too.
i wasnt the only one that caught that
It’s coming 👀👀
who agrees. that paint job is just beautiful.
Very impressive. Spot on copy. Super fans know you gotta have the glass roof top. Great interior
This would make an interesting conversation starter on the local trail.
CLASSIC!
Destroy that cane in the back seat. That tree sap mosquito was the reason behind all of this 😂.
My dad has this very same white ford explorer 1993, that he bought used in 2002 and to this day still has and drives it mostly to work.
The pizza planet truck!!!

I’d be so stoked to see one of those on the road today!
Awesome video! 👍
Dont move, it cant see us if we dont move.
Doesn't matter, though. The Tyrannosaurus actually has 55 degree binocular vision.

I know the feeling. I have 99 explorer and it has been called a Jeep by countless non car people. It’s fuckin annoying
I had a 93 now a 99, and ppl called my 1st gen a jeep all the time but my 2nd gen everyone kept calling it a 4Runner 🐸

The most iconic car was the YJs but the Ford is pretty cool ngl
JP was the best movie ever made. Great video man.
Bro this video was awesome. I've always loved Jurassic Park!
For real, I got passed by one of these in Orlando at night a few weeks ago. a crazy double take.
9:22 was the spitting Dino not a raptor
Dope. About to start on an electric Batpod myself. Love movie vehicles. Want to do the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters eventually as well.
Dude this thing is dope I saw one parked outside the auto museum in L.A. Peter Jackson I think.
Thats a nice ford exploder

Gainesville, Ga that isn't far from where I live. I also never knew Robert Downey Jr built cars on his spare time.
So many cool details! Great video!
This is freaking AWESOME!!!!!
This video deserves 10\10 goldblums lol.
Up next, any of the research team vehicles from the lost world 🌹🌹🌹🌹💖💖💖💖
Crazy how in 20 years, they will be making replicas of the G-Wagon from Jurassic world
Some of the guys are already making them!
If I remember correctly this was the first movie to debut the Explorer. I also believe Twister was the first movie to debut the new Dodge Ram remodel which was so ahead of his time back then.
Always, always, always wanted to build these. This video is just making me more motivated to find one.
Jeff always impresses
It’s kind of ironic that a commercial containing Jeff Goldblum was at the start of this video:)
That bubble roof 👌🏻

The guy even sounds like Ian Malcolm.

man jurassic park is my all time favorite movie, i wonder how much an original Explorer from the movie is
80 series land cruiser was originally written for the role of the explorer, but business deals got in the way and we ended up with the explorer
Except for those seat-covers.... this thing looks good!!!
Hope you pick up the torch for movie/TV cars where Aficionauto left off.

Where can you purchase the console molds he was talking about?
