- This how-to video details how I go about setting up my inflatable fishing raft for a solo fishing trip on a lake. The Intex 4 excursion with motor setup is pretty doable even for a one person. Caught a couple of fishes (bass and crappie) on a lake I have never fished before.
Music in the background from www.FesliyanSt...
Hey, great step by step set up video. What order and step by step do you pack away and what do you use to transport everything if the water is further away from where you park your car? Do you use a garden trolley or a type of wheeled cart?
i used to just park near the launch site so as to minimize the amount of distance I have to lunge the boat. But i recently got a trolley from costco for further waterlines
@@JChanTV_youtube And a lock for the trolley for when you go out onto the water so nobody steals it?
@@markweatherall7437 It is pretty small, I'll tuck it in my car when I am out in the water :)
@@JChanTV_youtube Great video, can you tell me where you get that folding chair ?
Good vid. Been thinking about getting this boat for a few years. Might pull the trigger. Loosen your drag when fishing for bass with 6lb test. Will save you some break offs.
Thank you Sir! This was a helpful video as I want to take my family of four on the water and will be brand new to rafting. Have a great Summer! 😊
Enjoy!
Nice video. I recently bought an Excursion, and I plan to put a floor on mine as well.
Others in regular boats often stare and wonder how i stand in my inflatable. Wonders of the floor
You should add a bimimi top with some flex solar panels and charge controller. Free shade/Free power
I just bought one ..... and I found this video. Yall can guess what next on my DIY list!
Nice vid....can you show how you did 3 piece floor boards? better yet, can make one to sell...I am not very handy?
Same here. I have no tool and no garage lol
Dont worry folks, i am in the same position as you folks, i will post a video to talk about how you can do it without cutting the board up yourself. Meanwhile, help me by subscribing to my channel, you will be notified of my next video.
Just watched your video again, could you please let me know what purpose is the large hose/jubilee clip on the motor used for? Thanks.
Is the boat still holding on? Any leaks? Do you use it often. Great video!!
Yep the boat is working well after 2 years. Some small punctures but fixable using a repair kit
Bro .. with that set up .. how long the batter will last..! I’m about get some thing like you.. 👌👌
About 1 hour if u keep using the motor. I turn it off when I get to my spot, so it lasts me 3 hours
Nice. Like the fact that you show the results of all your DIY work too - the fish which I don't see in other videos I looked at.
I am curious. How much does your floor weigh? I was thinking of making a floor out of 3/4 thk plywood for an Excusrion4 I am planning to buy but it looks like it might end up being about 35 lbs. Did you use some other material that is lighter.?
thanks for your comment, I should probably do a follow up clip that details the materials used :)
Not sure if you would have time to create another video.
If you have a kitchen scale or something, perhaps we can get an idea how much the 3 pieces weigh. The way you were handling it, looked pretty light to me.
@@joseuthuppan1944 it is plywood, i got the thinnest one. The floor is not the heaviest part of the boat, the battery and the motor are.
Is the sharp hook dangerous for inflatable boat? it can easily stuck into the boat and make a hole if you are not very careful.
Yes that could definitely be an issue. There are different types of inflatable, some are stronger against punctures and others are not. Considering their price point, you would get a sense of their robustness. The Intex in this video is not very robust in this aspect
Hey good video I will have to look at the rest to get ideas for my bark boat where did you get your seat? From Ireland here🇮🇪😊😉🤔
It's a regular stadium seat. Got it at US Amazon. Was at Ireland a few years back, great place!
Hey folks, thanks for all your interest on my video. I am collecting all of your comments, and will be making a subsequent video response. I will posting more videos when I am taking out my boat for launch in a few weeks' time :)
Adamsın kardeşim 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi. I need how is your battery. But i have one too much heavy
My marine battery is pretty heavy too, about 50lbs
Check out my other video on the battery. I talked through it
that looks awsome i have one but not with the trolling motor and did you buy those boards or make them?
I made those boards. I contracted someone from a crowdsourcing platform with the tools to help build it
Tell me more about the floor
Hey man i was wondering what battery your using thinking of going out tmr
Hey, check out my other video on batteries. I did a review of the two batteries i used.
Nice im getting the same one as u for the summer and is the moter worth it or is paddling ok like time wise
Save your strength to fish and take down the inflatable after fishing ;)
Did you ever use the gps to see what sort of speed it goes?
Yes i did, it was going at about 2-3 mph. Would sometimes hit 4 at max speed
Show!!!!!
what lake is this?
Not sure if your are familiar with the area, but this is a lake near the city center of Minneapolis ;)
Careful you don’t catch the virus out there lol
Social distancing myself by being on the lake ;) take care too, tight lines!
Where did you purchase the mount for the trolley motor?
it is from amazon, i will post a new video describing each part in detail, given all the interest. thank you
Thanks, I appreciate you helping us
What type of fish finder are you using can you tell me
this is a garmin striker 4 cv with ClearVu, more videos coming up on my equipment when I take out my gear in the next few weeks
Hey do the spines of the fish puncture the boat?
I didn't experience a problem with that from freshwater fishes
Hi! Very interesting video.....but I was wondering what did you use to mount the transducer of your fish finder. I didn't notice any surface for a mount, beside the rack for the motor in the back.
Check out my other video on battery. It has a snapshot of the finder mounted on the battery box
@@JChanTV_youtube Thanks for the reply. Went to see your battery video and was super interesting. The only thing I was curious about was about the location of your fish finder transducer. Did you place it under the boat with a suction cup, or behind the mount for the motor? I have a Garmin Striker 4 Portable so the battey mount is not really an issue for me. :)
@@Coco_Loco76 thanks for clarifying your question. yes, I did mount the transducer on the bottom of the motor. i would show this in my new video of the trolling motor.
@@JChanTV_youtube thanks for the quick response...can't wait for your next video! Cheers!
Please, I have a question: where did you get the split floor plots thanks
you have to make it, but if you get a different inflatable boat, they come with metal floors, let me ask my friend to see i can film his boat for a comparison video
@@JChanTV_youtube I have a boat the same as your boat can you help me how you did it
@@JChanTV_youtube make a video of the how to make the floors
Hey were did you get the wooden boards? Because without it it’s so hard to stand
Home depot
the coolest-floating raft with tent raftent ru
Thanks for posting this video...just purchased an excursion 4 for personal fishing use and I plan on doing something similar. How much plywood did you use? A 4x8 ft sheet of 1/4 inch? I figured the thinner, the better for weight purposes. Where'd you get the carpeting that you stapled onto the plywood? I know the raft is about 10 ft long, but wasn't sure if a 4 ft wide sheet of plywood would be sufficient for covering the width. Any info on materials appreciated!
All materials for the board were bought from home depot. The length measurement of the interior when inflated will determine the length of the board. I went with a thinner plywood as well for the weight.
Good stuff! Thank you for sharing!
That's a nice setup
How sturdy is the boat while standing??
Quite sturdy, provided others in the boat don't shift their weight around too much
Dude! your music is so loud I can't understand what your saying.
Thanks for the feedback, will adjust my music in future videos!
Love the video! How does this handle in some wind?
I would recommend going out on the water with this setup on days with light wind (
How did you attach the seat to the milk crates?
I will be posting a new video soon when i take out my boating gear, stay tuned!
Can you add a canopy to that boat? Great video.
Yes, but i want my dose of vitamin D
@@JChanTV_youtube im asking in general if you can do it. Not for you to do it..
