  • ABSOLUTELY INSANE Engine sound onboard the 717!!! By far MY FAVORITE part of my trip to Seattle. We start off by taxiing to runway 24L (I believe, it could've been 25L) and spooling up our engines to 50%... then to 60... thn 70.. and finally 90! Before we even know it, we are rolling down the runway with the Rolls Royce BR715 engines screaming in our ears... then we pull up and climb to our low cruising altitude (It is a short flight to SAN!)

    Those engine spools, wow. I love those spools, but the one that gets me the most is the 777 engine roar vid.

    All I can say is, you won't get eargasmic any sounds like that from the A220... BIG BIG Thumbs up!

    • @VoraciousAvgeek
      @VoraciousAvgeek  5 лет назад +2

      Exactly! On the A220 all you hear is the ugly spool and the air rushing past the cabin...

    I'd have to say this is the BEST B717 take off video I've seen. Too bad their bo longer made. Excellent video though!

    I've watched so many spool up videos, but this one was really insane. The spool up alone is amazing, and then when you think it's full power... there's more there. Jeez. Amazing.

    Fun fact. That 717 was originally sold to TWA but once they went bankrupt AirTran purchased TWA's 717 orders from Boeing. How am I able to tell? The bright landing edge wing light that illuminates the runway. Well that is what I was told at least when I worked for AirTran.
    P.S. Love the spool up of those RR-BMW engines!

    I got to fly this plane the other week from Atlanta to White Plains. It was totally worth booking! I love the takeoff roll on these planes. The engines being a bit overpowered makes the experience awesome! We were off the ground so quick I almost couldn't believe it. These planes are so cool!

    The departure runway was Runway 24L I could tell this because theres no terminal visible and theres taxiways leading to 24R

    In the cabin "Let's keep them there a little longer, make sure they're nicely synced, and make sure 3 times that the oil pressure is good, now, full power"!

    That is why I like high bypass turbo fan better. those 717 old engines are too loud.
