- BEST SPOOL UP EVER TURN UP YOUR VOLUME ALL THE WAY
This is the most incredible, powerful and loudest spool up takeoff I've ever heard...and hopefully you'll feel the same way. This spool up is just...wow!
I was sitting pretty close to the engine, right next to it in seat 23 on the Delta 717-200. The scream of the spool up of those BR715 engines....just incredible and amazing.
This takeoff is from Newark Airport's 22R following the standard EWR1 SID.

This airplane sounds very powerful. The spool-up sounds nice, too!
Oh, and, the DC-9 family has a unique magic no other plane has: its wings.
+Monica Miyake (PenguinvilleRescue1) All their engines!!
AAAAAWWWEEEESSSSOOOOMMMMEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
TTTHAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKKS!
I fly on this aircraft every time I fly to Central Florida in June on my annual summer vacation. Specifically, I fly into Melbourne International Airport in Melbourne,Florida. They use it as a shuttle craft back and forth from Atlanta International Airport. It's like an hour and a half flight each way. I simply adore this plane!
As soon as I turn up my sound: *jaw hits table*, *drool falls on floor*
LOL! Glad you liked it Ross ;)
Dude I was drooling from the 0:01
Thomas Harbauer Yeah, well I was drooling way before then! lool xD
+Thomas Harbauer Bros, I was drooling after I got done painting 733 white! :P for real
The classic DC-9 lives through the 717, love seeing them and I think it looks great in Delta livery.
epic music to one's ears
I enjoyed it. The 717 still is a workhouse 😎
You are 100% correct! This spool up is one of the best I have ever heard on youtube! Fabulous video and great job! I wish I could have been on this flight with you! Totally awesome!
Am I the only one that almost fell off their chair while watching this? XD Fantastic spool-up though. Liked!
this is my 2nd favorite plane and spool up sound!! BR715's on the 717 will never get old! awesome video!
TheTyler8848 Much agreed! Thanks so much :)
Every bit as awesome as I imagined it would be. What a sound :D Spectacular video as always man, very cool to see EWR from a different perspective ;) HUGE LIKE!

Woow!! That sound is INCREDIBLE!!! Fantastic video mate!! :)
Thanks so much my friend! :)
Love a 717 flight! Lucky to live 40 minutes from two hubs ABE and MDT and have flown in them at least 6 times to Atlanta and Orlando. Great video.
Wow,you can hear both the HP and the LP turbines ,nice
The spool-up of a 717/DC-9 is the greatest sound in all aviation.
WOW just wow, that spool up is incredible! Really awesome video man:) Liked!!
Haha thanks so much Brad, really glad you liked it! :D
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!
Gotta luv those cfm-56’s
Nice!
Absolutely incredible!!!!
AWESOME video mate! WOW! liked a lot! :D
Thank you so much my friend! =D
Great video! I stayed on the Boeings for most of my airline career but I've flown on lots of jumpseats on the DC-9, MD-88 and the 71. The 71 is a little rocket.
Awesome video!!!
Thank you very much! :D
Awesomeness! I'll be flying into and out of EWR this coming weekend on DAL 717's! Can't wait!
***** Thanks man! Awesome, hope you have some good flights :D

I had that same feeling on the plane ;) Thanks so much Matt! :D
What causes the engines to scream like that when they're being powered up just like at 0:45 ?
Incredible!
Thanks!
These maddogs climb like rockets, love it ! 😍
That's amazing! Loved!!
Thanks so much mate! :)
CathayA340 can you give me permission to post this video in aviation group on facebook ( IF )
EnriqueDominican Yes, you sure can! Just remember to credit my channel as "CathayA340" :) Thanks!
Ok
Could you link me to the post?
Love the 717
John Smith Same :D
I was on a 717 on Delta yesterday. I got my takeoff video uploaded already if you'd like to look at it and its got one howling sound to it!
I worked on the 1st 717 with BMW engines in at GSO!
Couldn't do it, had to turn down the volume a little bit down because I was going to Die!!!! HAHAHAHAHA awesome take-off!!!
HAHA! Thank you so much my friend! :D
Can’t wait to hear 8 of these RRs on the B52s!
that little aircraft is bad to the bone. i love flying on them.
I'm more than positive I painted that airplane. Great video!
+Ryan V That's awesome! Good job with it ;)
+CathayA340 It was a great project to with on. I believe we painted at least 60 of the 88 that was bought. Delta is so great of a company.
Do another one please
was just one two last week ALT too JAN SAT IN 28 A IF MEMORY SERVES ME CORRECTLY BY THE WINDOW COULD SEE THE RUNWAY MARKINGS AS WE ARE ON TAKEOFF ROLL
Do another one
I want to fly on a 717 I really like how fast it is on takeoff
Never heard an engine like that
Wow, is this a spacecraft? Is this how the THX sound is made? Anyway..., great liked sound!
Haha :D It was truly epic! :D Thank you :)
Anyone else got millions of goose bumps at 0:33
If I close my eyes, it sounds almost like an Eastern L-1011! This is 3rd favorite sound to me, 2nd being DC-9, and 1st MD-80.....Notice any connection there?? :D
KalOrtPor Yes I do! :D I love all three of those airplanes. Thank you for watching =)
Cookies and milk compared to Concorde - believe me on that - it had (4) afterburners alight at takeoff !
I wish I was still short enough to be able to sit way back there in economy...
Ain't gonna lie, probably the best 717 spool up on RUclips for real. I have a great MD-80 series spool up on my page
If you like that sound you will love the sound of the USAF C-141. That's one of the sweetest spool ups ever! Check out C-141Heaven.com and listen to it loud. You wont be disappointed.
That's skydoesminecraft's intro music
I cannot hear the engine over the hollering PEOPLE!!!
Even the kids got excited! I doubt they'd get the same feel on an a320 (at least in the rear of the plane where it's quieter). Not that I hate the a320 or anything..
There isn’t such a thing as the best spoolu.... Jesus Christ I was wrong
Sounds like my garbage disposal😃
I wish they would bring back TWA and the Twin Towers.
+JMMT7022801 so they also have to bring Bush back. Ok, we're going to have another 911
+giahuy45 No, numbnuts. TWA had nothing to do with 9/11.
Awesome but to bad people talking
Baby RB211's lol.
Joseph Linz I know they're not RB211's. I'm saying they sound like baby ones. lol
CHRISGT34 oh, I see! Lol just wanted to say what they really were.... if anyone did not know!
Joseph Linz I believe these engines are Rolls Royces though. JT8D where on the DC9.
Well, I guess I could be wrong? But I heard that delta md-88's had jt8d's. Oh well
Joseph Linz The plane in the video is a boeing 717, which is based on the MD series. I do love all variants though. I especially miss the jt8d engines, but one of Delta's biggest reasons for retiring all those DC-9's and MADDOGS was because of the noisy and gas guzzling jt8d. I miss those planes though. They had soul.
