    Love the 20deg deck angle on departure in the MD/717's. They were real rockets if light.

  • @dickbrocke

    That turbulence around the start of the takeoff roll seemed to be quite severe. Glad to see that the "runway turbulence" conditions subsided later on, prior to V1 and rotate.

      It's not as bad as it used to be. The 13/22 runway intersections were really rough. They were referred to as the 100kt. hump.

      @MTAviationPhotoFilm  Год назад +2

      @@rodmanser7573 Not true... The CRJ700 series has had no accidents. Its roughly the same age. The impressive part is that there are about 9 times more CRJ700/900s built than the 717 and they fly way more legs a day. Still having the same safety record.

    • @MTAviationPhotoFilm
      @MTAviationPhotoFilm  Год назад +2

      @@rodmanser7573 I'm not splitting hairs, I am saying your claims of it being the only aircraft to have no accidents is incorrect. And no, it was not a CRJ700 or 900 in either of those situations. If you are trying to lump the 700/900 in with the 200 because that's the variant it came from, than I can easily do so with the 717 since it was derived from the DC-9/MD-80 which has had accidents again disproving any argument you're trying to make. Please do research before further commenting.

    Was the APU still on??

    • @MTAviationPhotoFilm
      @MTAviationPhotoFilm  3 года назад

      No. Apu is required to be off during take off on the 717 or it will mess up the bleed config

      @PandaAviator-xw5ru 3 года назад

      @@MTAviationPhotoFilm oh ok i noticed the APU panel on 717 was still on cause usually it will turns off after the APU shuts down

    • @MTAviationPhotoFilm
      @MTAviationPhotoFilm  3 года назад

      I stand corrected. My friend who is a 717 FO said they dont use it on take off however I do see the APU indication on the display. You cant really see the master switch position very well since its a 3 position switch but if you pause it at the right time, it would appear the bleed switch is in the down position which would be on. I know it was common on the CRJ to do so so you would have less of a load on the engine. It could have something to do with LGA having such short runways which is why they used it in this case

    • @stephen20105
      @stephen20105 2 года назад

      A generator could be deferred. If that is the case the apu is required to be on the entire flight
