We’re the Lockwoods. And we’re traveling the world to experience-up close and in person-all the natural wonders and distinct cultures that our kids would otherwise be consuming only through textbooks and TV. worm, tamilok
for that you and your girlfriend are very welcome to our country😊
This little boy has an adorable way of describing foods... i think he will be the next youtube star...
Erin is right. The red dot is to distinguish what flavor and the pinkish red is always asado.
Nice! 👍🏻
A yellow dot is for chicken asado, if I’m right..
I think yellow is Bola2x
I always thought na lagayan xa nang ketchup..
It identifies the kind of meat…pork asado, chicken and meatballs.
Erin is slowly becoming Filipino! Hot coffee on a hot day...yup yup, very Filipino move there!!! ❤❤
☕️❤️🤗🤗
wow this made me cry! I just returned to New York a few days ago after a month's vacation in my hometown Iloilo City. I'm having separation anxiety again :( Thank you for featuring our lovely city!
Muelle pronounced mwehye. The LL are silent and your'e right that is spanish. Muelle is dock in spanish. Thats the dock that is named after Nick Loney - a British vice consul that started the sugar industry in Iloilo and later on in Negros in 1855. Muelle is where the RORO is going to my city of Bacolod. I been to Ilioilo as a kid many times to visit relatives in Jaro. Love your episode. I miss Iloilo.
Colt has the best attitude! I admire his adventurous appetite!
🫶🤗🤗🤗
Thank you for visiting our city, Iloilo! ❤️❤️❤️ There are so many food to try. Come back again❤️
In all the times I've watchedyour channel, here are my observations--
1. Phil is a classy, sophisticated man... cultured and refined, if i may add. 😀
2. Erin is so good-natured. Her childlike and warm personality make her so endearing. 🩷
3. Brooklyn is a trooper. Im sure transitioning to her teen years is challenging for her,but i can see how she tries her best to be part of the adventures. 🥹
4. Colt is a charmer! I can tell this young man has a bright future in media (maybe showbiz? 😄).
Overall, your family continues to melt our hearts with your humility, kindness, and authenticity. May you continue to be a ray of sunshine to your viewers! 🥰
This is the sweetest comment. Thank you 🙏. Thank you for seeing us this way 🤗
I never forget to bring any of those Roberto’s siopao everytime I found myself in downtown Iloilo. Its my favorite!
They’re so great!
After losing the previous “bet” and calling your hotel “Richmon-dey”, Erin wins this round with her correct guess on the purpose of the “red dot”. It’s a marker to differentiate the siopao varieties. Congrats Erin! 😁
Color coding.
This young man has a bright future ahead of him. He’s just brilliant!
🤩🤗🤗🤗
He's so down so earth and easy to approach. Well done parensts!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The fruits outside Roberto's are jackfruit. The durian's spikes are bigger and fatter. 😊
Love your son he is so adventurous in eating exotic food 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Aww thanks! 🤗
@@livethephilippines 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Yeah she's correct, most of the time the color red is the asado flavor and the yellow dot is the bola-bola (meat ball) flavor
Thanks :)
Yes, to recognize what flavor is it.
Thank you!
Thanks for visiting Iloilo City.Come back on January next year for the Dinagyang Festival.
We’re looking forward to more PH festivals 😊
I can tell you have raised Colt so well. What a down to earth, polite, smart and humble kid. ☺️
This means so much to us 🙏🙏
Such a good experience seeing from your family eating varieties of foods while enjoying travelling all over the country. Enjoy and have safe all the time.
Thank you so much 🙂
for every tourist, La Pax is known for the food. But I would say that what makes La Paz Market the most enjoyable and charming market is the people and over all vibe. Whenever I am in Iloilo, I always make it a point to go there in the morning to spend some coffee time along with the locals and it is amazing! the stories you'd hear, the laughter and warmth, it's just what you need to start the day. People would always strike a conversation and you don't even have to speak a lot, you just laugh along and listen!
I completely agree. The market felt like home, the people were so kind and welcoming
Cheers from Montreal, Canada! Iloilo city is my hometown and man do i miss the local dishes, I'm glad your family had the chance to try the local food - enjoy and be safe!
I want also to visit iloilo specially to try their foods!😅❤
You guys are really the best bloggers to watch ⌚️; very interesting, precise, informative , honest & fun ...❤️ 😍
There are siopao everywhere in the Philippines but you can find the most authentic, very tasty and original with a long history of traditions of almost a century owned by a chinese family in Iloilo.
They were so so delicious 😋
@ bornjuly.Hopefully not owned by Alice gou 😂😂😂😂.
@@merciseignuer1030 haha no they are old old Chinese in the city hindi sila lumaki sa farm bro. Hindi sila itinatim ng China sa farm.
@@merciseignuer1030 it's owned by yap family... Roberto yap was the founder
I bet Phil is Addicted to the beautiful Philippines & Traveling! Safe travels! 🤙
Yes! We all are 🤗
Depending on the meat flavors, siopaos are color coded on top. Reddish pink for asado, and yellowish for bola-bola flavors. La Paz Batchoy. Nothing beats the original. It's the best in the world! Proud Ilonggo subs here.
Thanks for showcasing Iloilo! There are more places and food to explore. Please come again next time, especially during Dinagyang Festival.
Thanks! We loved Iloilo ❤️🇵🇭

He is awesome 💯
I'm so glad that you tried all these local food in Iloilo like a local. That's so nice of that lady to go the extra mile to fry that Ibos for your son.
Really love your Guimaras and Iloilo episodes! If you get the chance to come back, you can visit the Miag-ao Church and Garin Farm Stairway to Heaven which are like 1-2 hour away from Iloilo City. Recently they have opened the Lizares Mansion for tourism (its a couple of minutes away from Casa Mariquit). In the northern part of Iloilo you can find the Isla de Gigantes.
So much more to see and do 😊
You guys miss going to Tatoy's and Breakthrough restaurant by the seaside..
The ibus is a favorite breakfast meal of mine with coffee. But i never tried a fried ibus. I will definitely fry one when i get back to the Philippines for a vacation.
Try it fried and dip it on a little bit of brown rice, it’ll be great with coffee ☕️ 🤗
the kid is soo smart ..the way he talks he's definitely knowledgeable..

I always watch ur vlogs ❤ i am a filipino. OFW working here in Saudi Arabia and eveytime i watch ur videos, i feel like Im Home ❤
Colt is so adorable❤️🇵🇭
Awwww thanks
The red and yellow dot on a siopao means the falvor or the variety of the siopao. Usually sioapao has 2 falvors, the bola bola, its steamed meatballs, and the asado siopao, ist like a sweet pork filling. Asado siopao is the most common in siapao. Red dot means asado siopao, yellow dot is bola bola siopao
Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yes my home city! LaPaz is the home of Batchoy and LaPaz Batchoy is the real batchoy it’s so addicting
It was so delicious. We liked it so much more than the one we had the day before.
I’m a blk man, 44yrs old, single, no kids, in Las Vegas receiving 100% VA ($3,737.85/ month). Got my passport last week and my 10-year clock has started. 1st stop is CEBU Aug 1st 2024. Wish me luck.
Good luck!! 🤗
Awesome!! Make a video man!
Erin is correct about the color marking in Siopao. It tells what the filling is.
Every now and then I’m correct 😉
Still many food places to visit next time. Tatoys, Breakthrough, Fort San Pedro Inasal, Paluto sa Fishport.
Lots to do when we come back 😊
You’re in iloilo! That’s wonderful! And trying all the delicacies I miss. Watching from Australia
We just left Sydney! 🫶 we hope you check out our episodes coming up on Always Be Changing
Oooh. We just had an early dinner at Muelle earlier. Love that you guys featured the resto. It’s definitely worth the dine in! They have super good sausages (they hand made them themselves) and the location is pretty historic as it’s located along the old muelle luney street/ river
They have good food and definitely worth a try for the tourists visiting Iloilo :)
My kids love siopao 😋 when one of them come to visit us (mostly my daughter, my son always have order as well ) all I do is spend in the kitchen cooking for couple days but it’s worthy .
Sounds so wonderful. I bet you make delicious ones.
Yep, Roberto’s siopao are pretty good, we’re from Bacolod but my aunt would visit our relatives in Iloilo and would buy the queen ones before boarding the boat back home the things is we had to put those on the fridge should you eat it later as their fillings get spoiled fast, as for the ibos, we also have those here, I’ve seen them sell outside the cathedral, you can actually eat steamed and pair it with muscovado sugar or white sugar…should you visit our city someday try going to the manokan country and try the chicken inasal, it is just outside the SM City
We'll try that if/when we come back!
One my favorite delicacies in iloilo their siopai and meat balls ❤
omg! first time seeing fried ibos haha. my favorite piaya, ibos & batchoy, bdw.
Thanks for show-casing the Phil and its eateries, as your vids have enticed me visiting this country. Your son is such an awesome commentator!!
Love this content! What a smart boy!!!
Thank you 😊 so happy you like it b
Y’all’s son is a food connoisseur! Awesome kid!
Filipino foods makes me drooling 🤤 for more and I missed all the foods sold in the Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
no matter which barangay they are from. Even if it’s from Iloilo city itself. Filipino foods makes my heart ❤️ fonder for more.
your son was an adorable kid. Me and my wife is a big fan of him. when he starts to talk it's like we love listening him!
Aww thank you for liking him so much 🤗
Thanks for sharing iloilo. Now we know what food to try out there.
There was this food chain called Casa Ilonga and their batchoy and lumpia ubod were my absolute favorite. I'm Pinoy but have been living out of the country for more than 20 yrs. so I'm not even sure if it's still around. But when I used to live in Manila I remember batchoy being really yummy, it was my absolute favorite. So, I was disappointed when you didn't think much of it on your first go. I'm glad you tried another version, you would've missed out.
You guys are killing me! I miss Roberto’s …its been years. And mom is right about the dots.
Yes! The siopao dot colors indicate what flavor they are. The most common is red/pink which is usually Asado (Pork/Beef), and yellow would be Bola-Bola (Chicken).
Madamu gid nga salamat po kg halong. Great family... God bless. Love from cainta, rizal.
Love your food tours. Looks so delicious! You're all food connoisseurs - especially Colt.
My hometown Iloilo City.
We loved the city!
Next is Bacolod (Negros Occidental & Negros Oriental). Try Puerto Galera too
Oh, you guys make me craving of my ilo ilo foods, it’s been a while since I left ilo ilo back in 2003, can’t wait to be back in one of my root place ❤❤❤
Go to the summer capital of the Philippines guys! Baguio!
Their Ube and Strawberry Taho is so good. You can do Horseback riding, biking, boating etc.
Erin is right: the colored dots mean the type of bun filling you get. The thing is different locations mean different things, but generally red means pork/chicken asado (sweet pork/chicken, saucy filling) and yellow means meatball (or bola-bola in Filipino). Some places, no dot means asado and red dot means bola-bola. Better to ask always when dealing with siopao. Also different locations have different types of breading. Some will have soft fluffy dough, some will be flakey, some will be dense, and some will be cake like. Again, different locations different preferences in food.
The little boy tho, love his reaction haha. He’s really adventurous kid! God bless your family.
you guys are so lucky you’re there and enjoying the good food! and beautiful places- islands in PI! Enjoy!
Thanks so much!
You guys are awesome!! Trying all of of these dishes and describing it in a way most of us who’s never had them can understand
❤Colt is a natural vlogger. LOVE your videos since the first Palawan adventure. Your family is awesome . Note: ibos is best with ripe mangoes.
Thanks :) We love that he enjoys it and that's what matters right now 😊
Yes, Phil. The ones at 7-11 are siopao.
No, Colt. You do not eat the paper, you peel it off.
I also liked the moment at 18:57
I haven't been commenting much since I'm busy, but I've definitely been watching!
Erin wins!!! she's absolutely correct about the siopao dots. I love how adventurous the Lockwoods are when it comes to food... and when they try to explain or describe their experience about taste and what not, they are so polite and very respectful which i personally appreciate and admire...Im soo hookup on this kind of videos of the Lockwoods..GREAT JOB GUYS!!!
Thank you for visiting city of love
Ya guys are from Denver great! thanks for visiting my city

Merzci and Piaya is originally from Bacolod City, just an hour away from Iloilo via ferry boat. I love Colt so much, he is not picky at all. ❤
Iloilo the amazing City!
So true! We loved Iloilo 🫶
Baby boy speaks so smartly like grown up love him!😸
Thanks! We love him too :)
In katagalugan area, Iloilo is in the Visayan area. Here we call it Suman sa Ibos same ingredients glutinous rice, coconut milk and salt but we don't fry it. It's already cooked we just dip it into something sweet like sugar. Sweetened macapuno or beans others in mango dips. The word Ibos came from the leaf of a palm tree called Buri or in our area Bule so it's a Bule tree or Puno ng Bule.
Thanks for all the info 👍🏻🤗
Welcome to iloilo philippines people in iloilo is very friendly
It's not a durian. It's a langka (jackfruit).
You guys are killing me! I miss Roberto’s …its been years
