Well, this song was commissioned for a Mafuyu event in project sekai by kairiki bear. SPOILERS FOR “Guiding a Lost Child to What Lies Beyond”: In this event, Mafuyu is studying for her mock exams. At the same time she gets an invitation by Mizuki, who wishes the group would hang out more, to go to the amusement park with them on the same day. As she hears this, Mafuyu flashes back to the traumatic experience she had when her and her mother went there, and got lost. When Mafuyu was found, her mother (kind of) guilt tripped her or just made her feel bad about getting lost. Then she comes back to like listening to Mizuki again and explains that she has mock exams. I don’t remember the rest of this event so we’ll, but I think Mafuyu’s mom finds that Mafuyu didn’t throw away her synthesizer that her mom told her too, and is now getting skeptical of her lies. Then, right as the exam comes up, Mafuyu makes the quick choice to skip the exam and see the Nightcord group at the amusement park. The last episode is really just Mafuyu being worried about missing it and then relaxing. But yeah, this song’s themes match what she’s going through lol.

MAFUYU. This song explains paranoia in being a goody two shoes from beginning when you are naive to it, to the end when you finally start to breakdown NOW. I like to believe break downs happen in two stages, depending on the person ofc, ive seen both stages of a breakdown in my own family. ANYWAY, the first stage is sadness, breaking down crying. And in the song it(too me at least) even sounds like that. That sadness and you just cant take it anymore. Youve bottled up how youve felt for so long that bottle shattered. The second stage is, anger. Youre body saying "now that the tears are out of the way, lets get revenge." Sadness and anger are two connected emotions, you cry when youre mad, you are sad and can easily be mad (or in a bad mood) right after. So this song is that sadness breakdown, leading into that anger snap. The time where the body finally released negative emotions and experiencing how amazing it felt and is displeased with whoever or at whatever that was the cause. And its clear that Kaito represents anger, and considering the Empty Sekai is made from Mafuyu, we all have concluded each and every Vocaloid in the Empty Sekai represents a new feeling Mafuyu let out of the shell of what was once a bright, happy, smart, child. Samsa is quite literally the name of the protagonist in “The metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka. I’m reading the book currently right now (it’s not that long of a read, just haven’t had time to sit down to finish it). Basically, dude turns into a giant bug (the exact german word doesn’t have a direct translation but it’s highlighted that he’s giant and has lots of legs like a cockroach) and his family slowly starts to hate him for it. at the end of the book he kills himself. I suggest you read the book if you can (i’m sure you can find free translations online, but i bought the Susan Bernofsky translation). when i’m done with the book (and hopefully i don’t forget) i’ll come back here and write some thoughts on it.
