Honestly Miku's concert feels more like celebrating the song and the community together with like-minded people. Its also about appreciating the people behind the song that made it popular in the first place

Thousands, even tens of thousands of people believe that Hatsune Miku exists and entrust their feelings to her. Compared to that great passion, her existence is a trivial matter. In the first place, more than half of the world's population prays day and night to an immaterial god. What's the problem now?
That’s the thing my mom thinks concerts are for seeing the actual person. But really it’s to connect with people who have a common interest and appreciating the people who worked on it

I'm 50. I went to my first Miku concert at Magical Mirai 02Sept23. It was epic. My teen daughter got me into vocaloid music. The concert is something I hope she looks on with great fondness when she is older. It was awesome for her to share the event with me and I am forever thankful.
Well crap, here I am in my mid 30's thinking I'm much too old for Vocaloids, lol! Thank you for reminding me that it shouldn't matter, a fan can be a fan for life 😊
The band members look so stoked to be there. Maybe it seems weird to others but it’s still performing arts, and the digital stuff was done by talented artists. It’s a visual treat
I love how they always give the spotlight to their band members, too many performances just go without it and it’s such a bummer because they’re playing their heart out but I never even get to see their face or know their name :/
The Puffy AmiYumi concert I went to at Anime Boston some years back did this midway in. They also asked the audience for recommendations of places to go to for the local food around the area of the convention center.
One thing I appreciate about Vocaloid culture is the cycle of creativity and collaboration it creates. It’s not just the song, there might be someone else who illustrates the characters in the song, and someone else again to create the music video. And after the song has been released, other people may feel inspired to cover it, or to cosplay as the characters, or create fanart… or memes. And the cycle continues.
Miku came to Seattle a few years ago and I went with a friend that isn't into anime and mostly listens to metal and rap and he had as much fun as I did. The live band at that one was also great and you could tell they were loving the energy of the crowd.
Your heart swells? Uh, I would see a doctor about that. Mine usually pulsates at a predictable rate proportional to my emotions, when I see Emily and Daidus.
The band members genuinely enjoy playing and having fun just boost the mood even higher! I'm not even there and I can feel the enegery and excitement through the screen!
my first introduction to miku and vocaloid was when I was 10 years old and watched a concert of the song "senbonzakura", and it remains one of my favorites to this day
Same also when I was ten but it was through a meme animation of project Sendai and let’s say I am now obsessed with vocaloid and slowly dragging my friends into it as well
Hahaha I f*ckin died at the re-enacting explaining Miku concerts to your brother because it's almost EXACTLY how my parents reacted when I showed them and explained I bought tickets 😂 Honestly such a blast, I really hope I get to go again one day
Fun Fact: The spinning leek song actually came from a looping clip of Orihime from Bleach spinning a leek around and then someone made that loop while adding a song that fits it perfectly. That was before Mike became a thing.
I actually just realized that practically no footage of the concert is recorded by the audience and it just makes going there more special because it is something you experience on your own... Jam to the music, cheer on miku, while using no phone
I remember my first Miku exposure and ai tell this to EVERYONE. My elementary school music teacher had a poster of Miku and two other vocaloid up in the school hallway outside of her classroom for the world to see. I didn’t know WHO these girls were, but I KNEW they were pretty and my mind would never let me forget them. It goes to say, this was my first introduction to any anime art as well. I didn’t realize who these girls were until the END of HIGHSCHOOL. To this day, my elementary school had the coolest music teacher.
These concerts always looked so very bizarre to me, but I can tell that a lot of love goes into the actual concert and the band looks ecstatic to be playing. The whole atmosphere radiates pure fun.
8:26 OMG they did Gimme×Gimme! That was the first Hatsune Miku song I fully listened to. That song was what what made me listen to vocaloid, because I thought they all just sounded like peppy pop songs, when they actually have whole range of styles. Getting to see that performed in person would be awesome!
I was in a social skills class when I was young. It was a class for kids with special needs to learn about social skills. I actually had a lot of fun there, and I made some good friends. During my time in the class, I had discovered Vocaloid music, mainly Miku and Luka. They were in a stop motion video made by Moonshine animations. At first, i didn't know who they were or where they came from. I was later informed that they were virtual singers known as Vocaloids. I was infatuated with their music, and I became hooked ever since. And every time my class went on a field trip, I would listen to Vocaloid music on my phone whenever I needed to occupy myself. I've been a fan ever since. Miku and Luka are my 2 personal favorites. So....yeah. That's my story.
My mom thought all the songs I liked were fun songs and upbeat ones(fair given the ones I’d shown her), then I showed her my actual favorites(Lost One’s Weeping, N25’s songs, Aishite) and she looked at me like I was crazy. The duality of Vocaloid!
My introduction to Vocaloid was when I was 10 years old and my cousin in high school showed me the video for Scissorloid. At the time I genuinely didn't know things could be "dark" so I was mind blown when there was blood and betrayal shown in the song. It sent me down a very deep rabbit hole and every time I found a new song I would be so excited to hear it. The topics in a lot of the songs helped me grow up and honestly cope with a lot of hard things life threw at me. It gave me a new gateway to express how I felt through art and music. I'm 24 now and I'm still obsessed with Vocaloid. I still feel that flutter every time I sing Vocaloid songs and I hope one day I too can go to a live concert
Being a musician and all around nerd for music, people often ask me if I dislike vocaloids. I honestly think they’re some of the most creative projects I’ve seen in our modern music cultures. I mean, someone made a synthesizer that mimics a voice, which is already really cool on its own, but then someone had the idea of using that technology to build a character and an entire project around that character! That’s so incredibly cool! It’s an astonishingly fun amalgamation of sound design, character writing, and storytelling! There’s nothing out there quite like it (to my knowledge) and that’s why it’s so impressive to me. Plus, it’s inspired countless brilliant artists as well. Just take a look at “Sad Machine” by Porter Robinson! So excited to see this evolve in the future :)
I am quite literally crying rn from the rush of happiness and nostalgia this video gave me. My love for vocaloid never really died down and im so happy that i still see people my age enjoy it as much as i do.
Damn. That "Miku bikes!", thing is exactly what happened here in Finland during the 2023 Eurovision. Everything was Cha cha cha, the spring leaves were Cha cha cha leaves, children in safety vests were cha cha cha children, etc.
I first got into Hatsune Miku back in 2007 by my cousin and she introduced me to "World is mine". I've been suffering from the beautiful rabbit hole of vocaloids ever since I was 10 years old and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon 💙💙💙💙 Miku is iconic 😍💙💙💙
my biggest problem is I enjoy it but I don't understand a single thing. 1:15 Like I've been listening to this song for years but I don't understand the reference she's making and its very sad :(
@@aguyontheinternet8436 is it the Ievan Polka song? If it's about the leaks, from what I know they're items that they associate the Vocaloids. Like Miku has Leaks, Rin has Oranges cuz oh her headband, Len for Bananas cuz of his hair, Kaito is an Ice cream(?) I think, not sure bout Meiko and I don't know why Luka is associated by a huge tuna, hahahaha I think the fans most likely made them. It's like an unspoken agreement of everyone in the fanbase. I still remember the memes of Kaito being naked with only his scarf on, I don't know why that's a meme, the fandom was wildin back then I'm not sure now though hahahahahaha 😂
Wow... 9:10 I never expected them to do Hated By Life Itself at an actual concert. I think if I had ever gone to a Miku concert without knowing the setlist and that song started playing, I'd actually start crying. That song means a lot to me, but it's not exactly a concert-esque song so I was taken aback when it came on
Look up the Magical Mirai 2020 version, that arrangement is the one of the Best song arrangements I have Ever heard in all of the history of Miku concerts The band play it their own way for the most part and add so much life to it
AAAA THIS HATSUNE MIKU CONCERT WAS THE BEST THAT I EVER SAW IN MY LIFE!!!!! I am a huge Hatsune Miku fan and I loved Hatsune Miku since I was a kid and I see Hatsune Miku as my idol and my singer who sings such wonderful songs made by professional Vocaloid producers and my other favourite Vocaloids, Rin, Len, Luka, KAITO and MEIKO are all my other idols too! I'm glad you've experienced your first Miku concert and I love how you always fulfill my childhood dreams into for me to achieve them and I find that really supportive of you.
God damn it i was tearing up seeing the recordings of the concert. Man the people having so much fun and everyone being so into it and knowing all these songs. Fuck i'm crying, i wish i could go one day.
1:17 that part is actually a Finnish ”folk song”(by direct translation😭). It is about 100 years old and uses really old finnish to the point i can barely understand it… but i was forced to perform and memorise the full LIKE 12 VERSE SONG in 3rd grade… it kinda annoys me that people think it is a japanese song😭😭
honestly same, I got to see the livestreamed crowd funded live show and absolutely sobbed and cheered from my laptop screen as I thought it would be the only time I would see Miku live. I would die on the spot if I was able to actually see her in person.
@@Jesujej the voice may sound similar, but the songs aren’t! The only thing connecting the vocaloid genre is the voice that’s singing the song, so it isn’t bound to a specific musical genre and producers can add their own unique style to their songs. Not to mention, vocaloid singers can be tuned differently, which can make each producer’s music sound different as well
Lmao as a Kikuo fan hearing a lo-fi cover of Gomenne, Gomenne playing in the majority of this video is both hilarious and scarring since randomly throughout the video I’d tune into the background music and remember what song is playing ;-;
I'm glad that the band in miku concert always get some spotlights cuz they really made the music almost identical to the original sometimes even better than a original
3 years ago, just before the pandemic hit my country, I went to my first ever Miku concert and it was simply the best night of my entire life. I was so happy I even cried, it was that special of an experience… Now, my eyes don’t really work and even with glasses I was having a hard time seeing what Miku was doing or what she was wearing, but the simple sound of the music I always listened to and her voice were more than enough to have such an amazing night! Glad you finally got to see your first Miku concert Emily!
My first introduction to Miku was actually a few years ago from a goofy meme of her, then I started listening to Hatchi (the first time I listened to vocaloid) and I liked his songs! Then I got recommended some Miku songs and started listening to her songs. I wasn’t a massive fan at first, but now a year or so later I have come back to her songs and they are actually quite good.
I screamed when you talked about the backstory. It was so accurate omg. IM SO HAPPY YOU FINALLY GOT TO EXPERIENCE MIKU IRL! :D My dream is to attend Magical Mirai Live one day, I know I can make it! I actually got shivers from these clips alone... I just know itll be so freaking good in person. Manifesting :)))

Emirichu: suddenly shows up like she never left fans: "it's been 10.000 years. Where have you been?" Emirichu: "Hatsune Miku." fans: "Understandable, have a nice day."
I'm just surprised it's still going. I first heard about vocaloid like 20 years ago and didn't think it lasted more than 5, but here we are. Glad to see Emily got to go with Daidus as well!
00:01 mine was actually the most weird introduction you could possibly get, I was watching the glorious octagon of destiny video when Viva octagon came on (a remake of viva happy) I had nether heard the song befor and looked in to it.
This is both sad, and exciting. Sad because it reminds me of all the US Vocaloid concert appearances that were canceled due to covid and never rescheduled. But exciting because, yay, Emi is doing a Vocaloid concert and we can all live vicariously through her! 😂
@@iamking132 Ohhhhhh. Really?! That's awesome! But are they still only doing New York and LA? Because the other tours were doing way more states as well.
I know nobody is going to actually read this because I'm an insignificant person and my comment will probably get buried anyway, but I feel the need to express my love for Hatsune Miku by explaining my time at a MIKU EXPO My very first Vocaloid/Miku concert I ever went to which I will never forget to this day, was at Toronto Canada at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts back in I believe 2016. At the time, it was an experience like no other for me. I was already a huge Miku fan so going into this for the very first time, I had the widest grin on my face during the performances from beginning to end. The holographic technology, the amazing and fluent performances, the sheer adrenaline rush I felt when listening to the band play each song as Miku and the others sang along to it, the fan interaction we got to have when waving our glowstick to the tune and rhythm of the songs, it was absolutely magical. One of the most memorable things for me personally when attending this specific concert was when this mustached gentlemen much older than me in a professional tuxed suit who worked at the Sony Centre (he was one of the workers in charge of making sure people went in and out of the venue in a stable manner) came up to me before the concert and was so confused and afraid asking me timidly, "If you may be so kind as to help me here, what is a "Vocaloid"? " Since the concert wasn't gonna start for a while and the lines were still pretty long, I took the time to explain to him everything he needed to know as best as I could. He understood well enough for his nerves to calm down and guess what? Right after the concert concluded, I got to see that same gentlemen again when I walked out of the hall and he had the most ecstatic and happiest look on his face. He got to experience first hand what a Miku concert was all about and as it turned out, he loved every second of it just as I did and I got to spend some time with that man gushing at eachother about how awesome the concert was and how amazing the technology and graphics used for it were and what not. On that day, not only did I get to experience my very first holographic Hatsune Miku related concert, but I got to play a part in helping an employee from that very building become a fan of it going forward. Moments like those are a testament to how Miku & friends, the producers who make their songs and CFM as a company manage to bring many people from all walks of life together in order to enjoy fun and beautiful music.
I have never heard a vocaloid song in its entirety, and like emily’s brother I don’t fully get the appeal of vocaloid concerts, but after this video? I kinda get it. it’s less about the live music aspect and more about the ~vibes: it looks really fun to have everyone doing the glow sticks dances, and the band looks really happy to be there! it seems like a fun experience
Omfg if I saw perfectionist complex live I would simply dissolve into a pool of tears, I love that song so so much!!! I love vocaloid so very much. I feel like maybe the potential anonymity it allows creators really opens the door for such deep and impactful self expression, as much as it does silly goofy laughs. I love it so so much :’)
2 songs that always stuck with me , and was my first experience . Ones Lost Weeping, and The World is Mine. ironically ones lost weeping helped me with anxiety with school . later i found out hatsuni miku and enjoyed binging some songs, now I'm playing a miku game on ps5 and I'm bad at it but man the songs are bops
This has gotta be one of my life goals. I think it’s so cool how a computer can animate all these movements, moving a character along to the beat of the music, while a band can play along completely live! Vocaloid is such a unique style of music
I discovered Vocaloid from an old anime magazine around 2009 talking about Miku. At first I thought virtual singers was absurd. So I went on RUclips and watched Vocaloid music videos and I just got hooked. Plus, I was just beginning to go through my weeb phase as well! I then heard about the PSP games "Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA", and I downloaded a demo. I loved it and was obsessed with it! I kept this secret to myself because I didn't want to embarrassed myself. A few years later around my junior year in HS, I introduced Vocaloid to a close friend of mines. At first he thought it was ridiculous, but he then fell into the Vocaloid rabbit hole as well! He became more of a fan than myself. He then showed it to the other otaku kids at school. I believe my friend spread the "Miku-Miku Bacteria" to everyone and they too became Vocaloid fans later on. It was great!
going to a miku concert is still part of my bucket list and i really hope to go to one soon :") 💗 but hey at least i won't have to worry about miku disbanding 😅 thanks for the awesome vid emirichu!
I was supposed to go to the Miku Expo in 2020 (but we know how that ended) and haven't got the chance to go to a concert again. Vocaloid genre is my whole life and basically 90% of the music I listen to. Been in the Fandom for more than a decade and will continue to be.
I went and watched the performance after watching your video and, as it’s my first time seeing a Miku concert, I’m blown away! It looks like such a great time!! It seems like everyone was having a lot of fun and they put a lot of effort into the performance 😁
This reminded me of my first-ever concert (which was a Miku Expo) 6 years ago in Malaysia!! Vocaloid is my childhood and I loved every song played there. I remember that time Miku surprised the crowd by speaking and singing in Malay, it was adorable! It was one of the best days of my life to watch my favourite songs live 🥰 I hope you had a blast at the concert Emily!!
Srry to correct you but that was not magical mirai. What you attended was most likely Miku expo 2017 in Malaysia, magical mirai concerts are always hosted/ held in japan.
I went to my first Miku concert in April this year, it was Miku Expo and it was honestly much better than what people have made it out to be, I don't really go to concerts that much, but that was one of the most fun one I've been to so far.
My first introduction to Vocaloid was through a Pokemon animatic. I featured an English cover of “Superhero”, I discovered Kagamine Len as a result and then Miku!
Its so funny that the creators of vocaloid never tried to humanize none of the character's voice, which is a plus imi because it makes them more unique or original
I’m not a vocaloid fan myself but I totally understand the hype. Like I know they’re not vocaliod but if K/DA or any Splatoon band had a holo concert in my area I would drop EVERYTHING to go
@@LevonBlueoak they almost got me to buy the skins even though I didn’t play league much when they came out, until I saw how expensive they were (I was a broke high school kid 💀)
Imagine how popular she'd be now if she actually got to sing at Coachella in 2020. Also, i highly recommend checking out Miku's recent song, Electric Chair 😏
@Senku-le1ze But it does make it easier to find people with whom you can talk about it. A decade ago, when I would talk to people about anime, they'd either mock me for it or pretend to understand what I'm talking about in order to be polite before changing the subject. Now that anime is gaining more mainstream popularity, I can more easily find people to converse with and have meaningful discussions about it. I'd just like the same thing to happen with Vocaloid.
@@NexAngelus405 I think you can just seek for people that share your same interests, I don't think it would be a problem if more people just get to know this things, were not for prevailing culture in our current society, in wich people engage with things they are not truly interested in, don't understand, and as a result bring about negative changes. I mean, there's not guarantee for this to happen, but anyways it is better not to take the risk
I didn't even know Hatsune Miku held concerts, but now after seeing this video I kinda wanna go to one. The footage of the audience waving their light sticks to the beat looked so fun! 💙💚

I’m a teen and my dad is also bringing me to my first vocaloid concert, I couldn’t be more excited.
Emirichu casually coming back after a month is like a holiday event, appreciate 5 years of dedication, beautiful artstyle
Why r u everywhere
@@3dprintworld503 you're just everywhere he is. (Me included in that)
I love how they always give the spotlight to their band members, too many performances just go without it and it’s such a bummer because they’re playing their heart out but I never even get to see their face or know their name :/
The Puffy AmiYumi concert I went to at Anime Boston some years back did this midway in. They also asked the audience for recommendations of places to go to for the local food around the area of the convention center.
The dedication of the fans to shake the lights in beat is such a vibe
Anytime Daidus and Emily are together in a video my heart just swells.

The band members genuinely enjoy playing and having fun just boost the mood even higher! I'm not even there and I can feel the enegery and excitement through the screen!
my first introduction to miku and vocaloid was when I was 10 years old and watched a concert of the song "senbonzakura", and it remains one of my favorites to this day
Same also when I was ten but it was through a meme animation of project Sendai and let’s say I am now obsessed with vocaloid and slowly dragging my friends into it as well
Hahaha I f*ckin died at the re-enacting explaining Miku concerts to your brother because it's almost EXACTLY how my parents reacted when I showed them and explained I bought tickets 😂 Honestly such a blast, I really hope I get to go again one day
It's how my mom reacted and still does XXD
just say,
“it’s like watching a movie, it’s not real but very fun to watch”
Fun Fact: The spinning leek song actually came from a looping clip of Orihime from Bleach spinning a leek around and then someone made that loop while adding a song that fits it perfectly. That was before Mike became a thing.
IM IN LOVE MIKU I LOVE MIKU I LOVE HER ANIME
It's how I reacted when two of my friends explained Hatsune Miku to me... I still don't get the hype, but I know the figures look cute.

5:57 and I agree with you. You really get to enjoy the your time there🎉
I remember my first Miku exposure and ai tell this to EVERYONE.
Who were the other two vocaloids?
These concerts always looked so very bizarre to me, but I can tell that a lot of love goes into the actual concert and the band looks ecstatic to be playing.
The whole atmosphere radiates pure fun.
The crowd lights are great.
What an awesome story!! 🤩
Miku and Luka are my favourite too
@@matthewreynoso6904 Thanks. 😊
As weeb as i am, i never learn why vocaloid is good. Of course she's cute and all, but the voice is just... weird.
My mom thought all the songs I liked were fun songs and upbeat ones(fair given the ones I’d shown her), then I showed her my actual favorites(Lost One’s Weeping, N25’s songs, Aishite) and she looked at me like I was crazy. The duality of Vocaloid!
Mafuyu being nightmares sans nightmare:
My life will be over the moment someone walks in on me cry-singing lost one's weeping
You showed her aishite aishite you monster
Funny you mention him since Po-uta is a thing now
@@lovestrucktheidiot Truuuuueeeee!! I forgot about that!
The “are you ok” for Jaiden made me laugh too loud
I first got into Hatsune Miku back in 2007 by my cousin and she introduced me to "World is mine". I've been suffering from the beautiful rabbit hole of vocaloids ever since I was 10 years old and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon 💙💙💙💙

Wow... 9:10 I never expected them to do Hated By Life Itself at an actual concert. @@niconiconiccorin it is! I listen to "normal" music as much as I do vocaloid producers

Senbonzakura was my introduction to miku, and I fell in love with Will Stetson’s English cover
Lmao as a Kikuo fan hearing a lo-fi cover of Gomenne, Gomenne playing in the majority of this video is both hilarious and scarring since randomly throughout the video I’d tune into the background music and remember what song is playing ;-;

I know nobody is going to actually read this because I'm an insignificant person and my comment will probably get buried anyway, but I feel the need to express my love for Hatsune Miku by explaining my time at a MIKU EXPO
My very first Vocaloid/Miku concert I ever went to which I will never forget to this day, was at Toronto Canada at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts back in I believe 2016.
Since the concert wasn't gonna start for a while and the lines were still pretty long, I took the time to explain to him everything he needed to know as best as I could.
My first exposure to Vocaloid was Len and Rin's mixed Kokoro and let me tell you: THE TEARS DON'T STOP

Bro, that's not necessary. Things don't have to be popular to be good, what's more, sometimes it's better if they aren't
