      Thank you so much for the response. I can't tell you how frustrating and embarrassing having this issue after childbirth have been, but just watching little videos like these make it feel like I am not alone or that there are others out there that possibly suffer. I'm not even 40 and have what feels like no bladder control. Use to work out all the time and now can't even run. 😩Keep the good info coming!!😘

    This is so informative, I can't thank you enough for giving me validation. I know I have this, and haven't been seen by a specialist yet but I want surgery!!! I want my life back.

      Thank you so much for your compliments! Completely understandable to want to live without restrictions-highly recommend pelvic floor physical therapy before and after your surgery for the best results and to make sure that the surgery lasts as long as possible and that your post surgery activity is restricted as little as possible. Wishing you all the best!

      Thank you for the kind words! It could be related to prolapse. It could also just be pelvic floor weakness or incoordination. The good news is that improving strength and coordination of your pelvic floor will help even if you do have prolapse. Check out this video to learn more about how to improve the function of your pelvic floor. ruclips.net/video/r5hUoXQ5P9g/видео.html

      I don’t have a video just about self assessment, but this video could be really helpful. Skipping ahead to the parts about stages and then around 11 minutes I show how a physical therapist would look for prolapse. ruclips.net/video/_v9bDIbQwik/видео.html I hope this is helpful!

      Oh I thought there was a video at about 5:40 you mentioned tuning in next week for you to talk about how to do a self-assessment to look for prolapse and what you can do to treat it. I'm going to go check this one out right now thank you.

    Can you get this during pregnancy? Cause i been having pain and heavy like a ball ??

    • @DoctorNicole
      @DoctorNicole  3 года назад +2

      Yes, prolapse can occur for the first time (or get worse if you have a history of prolapse) during pregnancy. Sometimes, though, if it's towards the end of your pregnancy, it's just the baby dropping down into the birth canal and things feel heavy because of that. If you would like to schedule a FREE phone consult to ask more specific questions, send me an email at nicole@mamasandmisses.com . Congratulations on your pregnancy as well!

    I don't know what is going on with me . I've had really bad constipation where I feel like I have to have a bowel movement but nothing comes out, then I start pushing and straining like when you are having a baby and it has worked. There were times I was able to get alot out and times when I just got a very little out. I had spinal fusion surgery back in October of 2019 but recently bent dow heard a pop followed by excruciating pain across my lower back and shooting down my like like sciatica. The reason why I'm telling you this is bc I've heard that this surgery can cause problems. I am fused T10 threw to end of my sacrum. Something is not right. I can feel it when I wipe and also " sorta examined myself" and something definitely happened. But I don't feel a fullness in my vagina. I've always gone to the bathroom to urinate many times during the night. But yes I could go and then 10 minutes later have to go again. I'm scared. My rods broke from the original spinal fusion surgery and I have to have revision surgery. It's going to be in October or November. This might be To much info but with surgery you need a catheter is this going to be a problem bc of what's going on. The front seems fine it's just the back at first I thought maybe I tore from straining to go to the bathroom....Any suggestions... please help bc it is very important I get this spinal surgery asap. I am in alot of pain and am afraid something worse could happen. Will the catheter stay in??? I feel very embarrassed about even asking this but I have to know. Thank you in advance to all.

    • @DoctorNicole
      @DoctorNicole  Год назад +1

      I'm sorry you're experiencing such pain and stress :( You should still be able to use the catheter even if you do have some type of prolapse, but I would confirm that with the surgeon that's planning to do your surgery as I have not actually evaluated you and it would be irresponsible for me to give you medical advice without knowing all the details. Given your back pain and concern about prolapse, I would highly recommend a consult with a pelvic floor physical therapist as the 2 are often related. Weakness in your pelvic floor can actually contribute to back pain. Let me know how else I can help and wishing you all the best with your recovery.

    I am pregnant with baby 8, I leek urine through out the day and feel the buldge, I'm waiting to see my doctor but I do not want any surgery I don't want to loose my uterus, is there any hope to recovery for me I've been doing kegels for a year

    • @DoctorNicole
      @DoctorNicole  Год назад

      Sometimes kegels aren’t being done correctly or in combination with the right movements like impact with jumping and running or with lifting and if we don’t move into training this way, kegels may not be enough on there own. Highly recommend working with a pelvic floor physical therapist to get a more specific treatment plan!

    Just found out I have a prolapse after having my first baby 6 weeks ago. I'm so upset 😭😭 I went through premature ovarian failure and I think this has contributed. What can I do please? Kegels are doing nothing. It feels like I have a tampon stuck out of my vagina 😓😓

    • @DoctorNicole
      @DoctorNicole  2 года назад +1

      I'm so sorry that you have experienced these postpartum challenges! It can definitely further complicate the recovery process! I would say that 6 weeks is still very early, and I wouldn't give up on kegels just yet, but you can talk to your provider about using a pessary to keep everything inside while you heal and strengthen your pelvic floor muscles. I can't give you any specific medical advice without having you fill out an intake form and sign some additional paperwork, but if you're interested in learning more specific strategies for prolapse relief, pelvic floor strengthening, and avoiding activities that could make your prolapse worse-book a 30 minute Virtual Consult with this link: mamasandmisses.com/book/ Wishing you all the best- I know these things can feel really overwhelming and scary!

    My gynecologist said I don’t have a prolapse even though I can actually see it. Sex causes bleeding and extreme pain for at least two days. Have to do the whole finger trick to #2 and several other obvious symptoms. I think it’s time for a new doctor.

    • @DoctorNicole
      @DoctorNicole  2 года назад

      Oh I’m so sorry that your dealing with all those symptoms and feeling like your provider isn’t hearing your concerns. It definitely sounds like a 2nd opinion is warranted! Worth noting also that in many places you can get a consult with a pelvic floor physical therapist like myself without a referral from your primary doctor. We are definitely the specialists in conservatively treating prolapse without surgery anyways (even with surgery a visit would be beneficial to make sure you correct habits and weakness that could allow the prolapse to reoccur. Wishing you all the best with finding the right provider for you!

      There is lots of muscle that makes up the pelvic floor so hopefully just part of normal musculature. I’m so glad your going to pelvic floor PT. A qualified and trained therapist can give you so much insight into what’s going on down there! I hope you have a wonderful experience!
