Good morning, sir. I have benefited immensely from your very excellent videos . I will like to ask if BLS and ACLS certificates from the American Heart Association obtained from my home country are helpful courses when applying to ST3 in General Surgery in the UK. Thank you and much blessings.

Good evening, sir. I have gone through the eligibility requirements for being shortlisted for interview for ST 3 application for General Surgery training in the UK and I have realised that my chances will diminish the longer I stay in my home country trying to finish my training to be a consultant surgeon. Would you advise me to come to the UK immediately in order to build my portfolio in order to be more competitive for the training application?. I have passed MRCS part A. Thank you always for your good efforts and for your very excellent videos on the UK journey for not only indian doctors buy also for all IMGs over the world.
I agree that earlier you relocate to UK, higher chances of entering surgical training. But you should be prepared to accept the risk that due to high competition, one may never actually get into core surgical training. Glad to hear that you've passed the MRCS Part A! Now comes the real challenge - getting a spot for General Surgery training in the UK! You better get here soon before all the spots are gone ;)

Indian job prospects hardly depend on your qualifications. You should focus on getting CCT from the UK and then move to India. This is more valuable than Indian PG degree.

Doing PLAB will help you get into surgical training because ST3 entry will become quite difficult. But with long PLAB waiting time, you will probably complete more than half of your MS by the time you pass PLAB. It's best to get into MS if you are getting a seat. In our time, we were told that AIIMS JR doesn't get enough hands on experience in surgery.did things change now?
