Dude I'm being starlord for Halloween and that's gonna be a good piece to put on the costume

I made my own one of these and it was an absolute PIG to put together. Seems a good value price considering the materials and time required to make it.

Next Halloween because of avengers infinity war pt. 1. He’s gonna play a big part and the costume will be iconic.

This is a reasonable question, so I will try and give it a reasonable answer!
1: It's not plastic. It's clear resin with 300-mesh aluminum powder mixed in. This gives the part its metallic finish, and if you really sat there and polished it for a while you could get a mirror-shine on the thing. This also means that the parts don't need much in the way of painting, so they will be more durable and last longer than a painted plastic part might.
2: Wiring these things together is actually a little time consuming and difficult, as the space to fit the two batteries required in the earpiece is limited. I've got a method down now for putting these together, so I can ensure that the things I send out the door work reliably.
3: These are hand-made. If I were a factory in China, yeah, I could probably produce these for a couple bucks with injection-molded plastic on an industrial scale. I'm a guy working out of a small home shop, and each one of these earpieces takes 3-4 hours from start to finish to put together, from pouring the resin to cleanup to polishing to wiring the electronics.
4: We share the files for these for free on our web site, www.fusedcreations.com . If you'd like to assemble your own, you can download the file, print it yourself or have it printed for you, and assemble your own at a lower cost. It will lack some of the features outlined above, by virtue of being a 3d-printed part, but it's certainly an option!
Hope that answers your question. :)
