Life saver man. I was so sick of them closing on me. Mine took awhile because that sticky piece was basically glued to the washer and bolt but I eventually got it off. Now, works like a charm. Appreciate the video and helping a fellow rider out
Great to see this...I had same idea except I used a longer bolt with two washers sandwiching a light spring between. Pressure stays the same all the time.
I just took the expensive way out. The silicone , what Harley calls the " compression spring" get smashed down & weK over time. I bought new. Was happy they had them & then he said $25.44 with tax. Before thT he said how much you think . I said 89 cents each. Worked great & are like new again, but seems like this also works a lot cheaper. Thanks

Great idea, thanks!
Outstanding! All I had was some clear poly tubing but this worked like a charm. 5 minute job fixed both sides. Thanks!
Worked great
Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I just ended completely removing my vents during the summer because it’s been stupid hot here in kc
thank you for this ,
Mine have a cloth liner inside them. How do I remove those without causing damage?

Thanks, I've been fighting mine for two years now. Ask the dealer to fix them twice. They never did.
Glad I could help!
Thanks for the idea. I am having the same problem with my 09
Their still holding up great after all this time, thanks for the reply!
Thanks, gonna give that a try on my 2011 Tri Glide.
Works great, simple to do. Thanks for the idea.

Exactly what I did with mine. Silicone donut had turned into goo on my 07.
Thanks for the reply, so far so good!
