Spoke too soon lol. A good 80% of the younger population doesn't have this much determination nor patience. But all we can do is hope that 20% will do something good. Or else were screwed
The most impressive part is dressing the car. As anyone who has done dent repair can tell you smoothing out all those welds and small dents then polishing the whole car like that would take extreme skill
@Robin Vyas Custom cars are quite expensive when they're new and hold their value well. The trouble is, you have to find the right buyer when you do sell them.
In another post I had asked if the metal tube frame was left in place and the skin 'welded' to it. This video answered that and also commented that the sheet metal is "bonded" to the tube! THANKS!
In a world dominated by robotic manufacturing I am happy to see the Art of car building being kept alive. There are more like Chris, and I would love to see then come together without being destroyed by finances.
Stop being jealous and improve yourself. In Italy, we can't even change the diameter of the wheel rims if that size isn't marked in the vehicle registration certificate...this is just to give you an idea!
@@devenscience8894 oof. You got ne there.. That is a very good point. And the car appears to have a low center of gravity so a rollover doesn't look feasible.
The_Appointed1 it’s safer than a motorbike, the roofless model has a head and neck guard behind it like some 1950’s sports cars so you’re not totally exposed

AJAY K since nobody is replying, crash tests are only needed if the car is being imported from different countries, if it’s a car like this it only needs an inspection and to be registered to be road legal
Absolutely epic!! But honestly, $270,000 is a bit steep. That is the price of a pretty decent house here in Texas. $175,000 seems a bit more reasonable.
well he says it takes over 2000 hours. after the cost of the bits, I'd imagine that only works out at about $100 per hour. I know around here an average mechanic asks about $80 an hour. I think he's worth it.
If we had a chance to see Chris’s heart, probably God has made it out Of Magnesium Aluminium components & a V12 engine inside. The God of Mechanicals has personally blessed him. May he live long to show humanity of what each creative person is capable of. Accept my deep Respects Chris.
Are there any "open source" schematics for cars like this? Like to get the complete design plans, but you have to figure out how to build it kind of thing?
The video said that he used a steel roll cage around the aluminum tubing. I’m also assuming it’s street legal, otherwise there would be no point for the headlights and turn signals it has.
@tomcoryell how much do you think he could charge for one car? It takes as many hours for him to be satisfied with his work as it takes. I have a couple of jobs, one is a stonemason. Some walls, some setups and some stone allow me to male over $100 an hour at times. Other jobs are smaller, more awkward and in a location where they will be visually scrutinized orders of magnitude more and I am as picky and take as long in that piece as I need to...I did a job last month and I probably made $12/hr because it takes how long it takes to get it right and it was a small area. I can't charge for what I put into it but I can look it for the rest of my life and be happy with my craftsmanship. So back to my original question, what do you think he could be charging per vehicle/earning per hour Tom?
I'm glad a young guy does crafts like that. Our future will be bright or at least won't be as dark as people may think in this day and age.

Kinda looks like a Porsche 909 Bergspyder. Great job! 👏🏾
Pretty cool how he can make a car out of nothing but sheets of aluminum and it still drives
And aluminum has about 1/3 the density of steel. Probably could have saved a lot of weight this way if that’s what he was looking to do lol
I didn't know the outside of a car had anything to do with how it runs or not. Thanx for the information I learned somthing today!
