See how Shakespeare was trying to educate King James to be a better king, and warn the Jacobean nobility not to kill him.

I like how you take time to celebrate the perceptive thoughts of students, instead of purely focusing on your own insights.
UGH THESE SMART PEOPLE HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE SO GIFTED
I just worked really, really hard!!
@@kimichaddah2731 how did you work really hard please? What did you do please? (>_< )
@@angelstarfire I watched *loads*, and I mean pretty much all of Mr Salles' videos that were relevant to me, spent some time thinking about the deeper ideas and concepts behind the texts and did lots of practice essays with my overall ideas as the base for them- you've got to think about the texts and what they say, or what the author is trying to convey about society. For me, this wasn't work as such- the support of my teacher in school and Mr Salles meant I loved GCSE English! Any other questions- just ask. Hope this helped, and watch his videos!! They'll not only motivate you, but give you a no nonsense approach and tell you what to do :)
@@kimichaddah2731hello Kimi if, you don't mind can please share some English language or literature work? e.g. quotations, vocabulary or some essays maybe forgive me if I am asking for a lot.thank you in advanced it would be really appreciated if you could help :)

Do you mind getting in touch with me over themes of Macbeth? I need support with ideas only, and if you have any resources remaining it would help me out greatly.
Hi! do you have any other revision notes around themes in macbeth or perhaps jekyll and hyde? if so would it be possible if you could email them to me or would you maybe be open to tutoring me in english lit?the notes are so helpful but of course no worries if not :))
Hiii Kimi! Even after four years, your notes are a gold treasure. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, the notebook you made for Macbeth is a massive help and your notes widened my analysis!

Would you mind analysing quotes for each theme. E.g supernatural quotes analysed with alternative interpretations. This is quite a ask but would really help me.
Thank you!
Already have. Check my playlists
Could you please show how you would structure your points . For example get a text make up a question and show how to hit those high marks. I can find good points but cannot write them down.
I am very ambitious (maybe delusional) as I work on level 3-4 . Hope you can help .
I have lots of student essays on my channel - search for those videos

Wait can you say that when Macbeth asked the doctor if he could heal Scotland, it shows just how out of place he is as “King”, mainly because kings, at that time, were believed to having healing properties due to the divine right of kings, as shown when the king of England is said to be busy healing people (representing his nation) of diseases. Or can you say this was Shakespeare’s wink towards king James at the time suggesting that James had magical healing powers like the king of England on the play.
DaKing ZW Yes, both those interpretations work really well!
Hello mr Salles! Your videos have helped me to prepare to my upcoming exams a lot,and I’ve done lots of practice using your methods to write essays. Three one of my pre planned story essays for language paper 1 question 5. Do you mind marking it?
In the early hours of dawn, the sun stretched its golden fingers across the sky, painting the clouds with hues of pink and orange as if nature herself was orchestrating a symphony of colors. The breeze whispered through the trees, urging the world to awaken from its slumber.
A solitary robin sang its morning melody, a sweet serenade to greet the day.
With a yawn and a stretch, the sleepy town stirred to life, bustling with activity like a hive of industrious bees, each person eager to seize the day's possibilities.Coffee sizzled and bubbled in pots, filling the air with its rich aroma, tempting even the most reluctant of risers to partake in its invigorating embrace.
"Isn't it amazing," she murmured, her voice soft yet filled with wonder, "how each day holds the promise of something extraordinary?"
The streets buzzed with life as people hurried about their daily routines, their footsteps mingling with the chirping of birds and the distant hum of traffic.
Her Morning town was filled with sound and chaos. The cars are washing the children laughing and cold early morning wind rustling through rustling the trees. The minuscule skyscrapers towered upon the ordinary people making them seem like a tiny hard-working ants critically bothered with their lives.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the horizon, the town settled into a peaceful slumber once more, a gentle lullaby to bid farewell to the day.
Wow
Hi, do you have any good vocabulary sentences to describe Lady Macbeth and The Witches?
Check out my videos on those two topics
hi, this is a great video thank you! would you recommend writing a paragraph on each of these ideas in an essay?
about the crown vs throne as a metonym, could you also possibly argue that this hints at a cyclicall structure and the possible future downfall of malcolm, when he used "crown" in the very last line of the play after murdering macbeth? malcolm possibly starts seeing kingship as something easiky taken on and off through murder, suggesting he too may be overcome by the power like macbeth and turn in to a tyranncial violent king.
That is an excellent interpretation- you are going to smash this exam
@@MrSallesTeachesEnglish thanks!
@@eva9069but what would you say Shakespeare intentions are for this as it wouldn't please the king?
@@ragdahmed6031 hmmm that is a very good point, and honestly not too sure. maybe just a warning to king james, saying like "yes you are divinely appointed and the rightful king but you still need to be careful not to fall down the wrong path and give into hubris". obviously not written like that but yk.
@@ragdahmed6031 I would go into how Shakespeare is warning James that peace is fragile therefore you must be a benevolent king if you want to stay away from the plague of guilt (as well as causing unrest in the country)
So Helpful !
thank you mr salliesplease can you make a video example kingshio essay macbet
Predition for 2024?
Most of this doesnt even link to kingship. Like how does macbeth soliloquy and us feeling empathy have anything to do with kingship?
the spiraling of Macbeth after regicide, and the pity from the audience, allows for the nobility to realise that they too can fall under the same trap/manipulation of supernatural influence or greed of ambition. So by making Macbeth sympathetic, it doesn't alienate him from other nobles (where normally one would go, 'its easy to not kill the king') which allows for all nobles to, again, realise they too can commit heresy as bad as Macbeths - even if they were originally 100% devoted to the King.
Thank you
Shakespeare's Macbeth = Prisoner of Azkaban!
shakespeare out here trying to teach james about lineage but he believes he’s descended from a fictional character
pov: the night before the exam
Is kingship and leadership the same or not?
In this play, not in real life.
Can you mark my work on a video?
