If you want to chase 1/4 mile times, 034, if you want to call someone on the phone to answer your questions, IE. both have mobile flashing. can’t go wrong with either. I’ve been sticking with 034 due to their extensive catalog covering performance, chassis and suspension components + amazing tuning! Seems like it’s easier to go for the company that offers all the above. I’m not paid for this by the way. Just an honest opinion.
im not the expert in the car industry, but if you run ethanol, tank empty, and then use regular gas, would it still work? like you just dont use the ethanol system?
I love your work you remind me of those old school russian guys fixing euro cars no one wants touch lol i am not a hater or anything but damn that audi had a bunch of stock parts busted. Engine mounts coolant lines busted turbo fins wet spark plugs. I do doordash full time and my nissan has done 60k miles in one year no issues. I change oil every 30 days and all fluids every 3 months. Including tranny and brake. Nothing bad yet crossing my fingers. Almost at 200k with no issues or leaks. I do love your work. Freaking vw with cheap parts. You got a subscriber here!
The thing about Audi’s and most German cars is preventative maintenance. That’s the key. I’m happy I got to this SQ5 and did all the maintenance to ensure reliability way over 100k miles. These items that I replaced are part of regular maintenance on B9’s around every 40-50k miles. Most Audi owners are uneducated about this or are lied to by their mechanics. Nissans and Toyotas are arguably the most reliable cars in the world haha. cheap and easy to work on. Thank you for subbing!!
That down pipe is massive. I'm running one of those stock sq5 turbo's on a alh tdi it's mounted to the factory tdi manifold and converted over to vacuum actuated vane system.
No, OBDeleven is for diagnostic purposes like clearing and checking codes. Also you can do pretty cool things like personalizing your car by changes things like lighting, etc. check it out and use my code: Need4Built10. oobdeleven.com To flashed the car I used 034 Motorsport’s cable and my phone. They have a mobile application now so flash on the fly from your phone. Really cool.
Can you talk about how ride quality and noise in the cabin are affected after adding the new parts? Also, is there a huge penalty to the fuel economy if you aren’t beating on it?
Only thing that really changed was the turbo noise. Much louder jet engine sounding intake and exhaust whistle noises. On 91/93 octane I get 20-23mpg. On E60 12-15mpg. However this all depends on how much your foot is on the gas pedal.
Good stuff bro! I’m pretty sure I spotted you on 167 today, your sq5 looks clean, like the sleeper look. I just picked up a q7 and thinking of doing some modifications as well, wake up the 3.0 up a bit😅 Keep up the content!
Do the new versions of the waterpump have the same issues? Or is it going to come back eventually ? I have the same issue with my SQ5, what are the parts that I need to replace, if you don't mind making a list. THank you!
No the new water pumps have the same issue and will fail with item. These are all wear and tear items. Failures usually happen 50-70k miles from what I have seen. Same with the engine mounts.
Hey man! You got the 1.8T? Manual I’m sure Is fun as well. Not much you can do with those 1.8t’s unless you go custom build but few minor bolt on’s will get you somewhere!
Yeah… Dangerously QUICK. Yes, your face will hurt from the acceleration. Additionally you will find yourself spending your hard earned money on their entire Catalog to attempt to go even quicker and faster than before.
He’s running a cat less down pipe with the stock one exhaust. The high flowing tte810 makes it sound insane with all the extra flow. The whistle in person is crazy. I can’t recreate it on camera.
What software do you recommend for stage1 or stage2 use 034 or performancebyie? Because I saw that your car uses performancebyie software, but in this video, you show 034 software. What difference and what is your experience with these two similar solution?
The only difference between stage 1 and stage 2 on either tuning software is a downpipe. I’ve been using 034 Motorsport for over a year now and will continue using them as they’ve promised built motor support for the b9 and b8 platforms. They also constantly improve and are innovating superior tuning software. Including providing hardware that will finally create a breakthrough in these platforms.
bigger turbo always better, when i was building my f150 i was torn between twin turboing it and single turboing it, after daily driving an 88ml garrett that pushes the motor to around 1300 on ethanol i can confirm, big single over twins all day long
Big single definitely gives you more top end. This is just a hybrid so it’s being choked by its own exhaust side but hopefully in the near future these b9’s will have big boy turbo kits.
3.12 seconds that was hypercar performance some years ago(before Tesla) and that in an SUV is insane. If you told somebody in the 90's that in the future you could 0-60 in a SUV with 2 people and equipment in that time they would have laughed their ass off. How much effect do this mods have on the frequency of maintenance?(assuming you dont race it like all the time)
Well done bro great watch, id would-be good to see you do an injector upgrade video once 034 drops new injectors (in more detail), want to try my hand at doing these myself think it could be fun haha!
@@Need4Builtkinda similar question… Are there any concerns about trashing the driveline, DSG, CV’s, ect; with that much of an increase in torque and power?
hi guys i'm planning to buy a AUDI S5 B9 in the next thew months and i sure don't want to leave it stock. Any recommendetions for mods ?could be mods for the looks of the car aswell mechanical mods. my budget would be around 5k euro's but i just can't come up with any ideas myself. (sorry if my english is off it's just not my everyday language)
I’m not sure what mileage you’re at but make sure you keep up with your maintenance. Get stage 1 ecu/tcu, intake, turbo inlet, IE intercooler and IE charge pipes, down pipe, then stage 2 ecu/tcu tune. After that see how much money you have left and dump it into 034’s catalog to stiffen the chassis and suspension.
The fun begins; don’t forget the inserts and the front and rear anti-sway bar… so much fun taking corners and accelerating before the cars are still on pressing their brakes.,.
Depends if you’re on pump gas or e60-E85. Also depends on how much you keep your foot on the gas pedal. My personal SQ5 pushing the same power.. 20-23mpg on pump gas, 12-15 mpg on E60-E85.
3.0T and 2.9T have the same issue with the water pump thermostat and bypass valves. The rs5 has even a weaker link.. the intercooler (on the drivers side) craps itself 😀
Hey Love the build. However on the E85 sensor using hose clamps on the sensor is not how it is designed to be used. Those can slide right off. You should use barbed fitting or if you really want to do it right QD to a fitting and a custom fuel line. This can be dangerous if not done right.
That water pump failure with coolant migration is very common for the 3.0 turbo good thing it was caught in time before the car was completing buring on coolant
@@Need4Built 🤔😏😁👍 would you go with your sq5 or an 2021 amg 63 s (non coupe) GLE. I was originally thinking of picking up a 2014-2020 Rs7 but then started to look at the room difference btwn AMG and the Rs7 then decided I kinda want a stupid fast and loud SUV. But haven't pulled the trigger because I like the Rs7 dual clutch tranny. Plus I can get one now with the current prices around 45-50 . But I'd have to wait on the Merc because I ain't paying 70 k for the 21-22 when a year or two later they're going to be around 45-50. Eurocharge has a tune for both Rs7 and Merc that would put it near or over 700hp. So I'll probably go with a stage 1 tune from them. Again just asking your opinion.
Great video as usual, nice work! I really don't understand people that leave the factory roof bars on when they aren't using them. When they are installed the car thinks there is a load on the roof and makes changes to a number of systems, including ESC and stability control.
This is correct however removing them will only change cornering performance. I personally only care about straight line performance. And you can’t really remove the bars actually only the sensors inside.
Not with Hawks 5.0 HPS’s. No noises at all. People keep using track rated pads like EBC but you don’t need a dusty ass loud track pad that doesn’t bite until it’s very hot. Just a sport street pad is enough like the Hawks.
First time hearing about this but Good point! I’ll keep that in mind for the next b9 i work on. Haven’t had an issue however. I always blow out the vacuum lines and usually Get some coolant out of those. Bypass valve, valve solenoids, water pump, thermostat, and cleaning the vacuum pump itself usually fixes everything.
@@Need4Built yeah when these first started coming in we just replaced those but we started having some come back with more issues because the reservoir would be full with coolant
Sick video! Nice job showing what these grocery getters can do with some bolt on mods! Do you know what steering wheel that car has? I need one for my SQ5.
My wife and I would love a sponsored car. 2018 white SQ5 diamond stitched seats flat bottom steering wheel and twin boys that asked for that as I was watching 😅🎉 great videos keep it up
Hey quick one for ya today! -- @17:15 you used your jack to hoist the car up by its' side smack dab where the B pillar looks to be at, but I notice you didn't use the designated pinch welds... Comments on why you went with that? I had asked myself the same question if it was OK to do so or to just stick to the pinch welds beside each wheel. Thanks in advance, always love your content!
Good question! You should ONLY raise the car at the designated pinch welds. The pinch weld does continue all the way through and technically you can use the jack on it but if you’re not careful you’ll damage the lower carriage cover. I shouldn’t have jacked it up in that spot (didn’t damage the cover) but sometimes I’m in a hurry and forget. If you move that soft cover aside you’ll see the pinch weld going all the way to the other side.
@@Need4Builtohh the pinch weld goes all the way across the side that's great to know -- follow the line and mind for occlusions so the car rests 100% of its weight on that line against the jack! Thanks as always!!

can’t go wrong with either. I’ve been sticking with 034 due to their extensive catalog covering performance, chassis and suspension components + amazing tuning! Seems like it’s easier to go for the company that offers all the above. I’m not paid for this by the way. Just an honest opinion.
Did you give it a run inbetween mapping and upgrading the parts?
Did you see the stage 2 91 draggy runs in the beginning? And then the stage 3 E60 runs at the end. It was already tuned and modified.
im not the expert in the car industry, but if you run ethanol, tank empty, and then use regular gas, would it still work? like you just dont use the ethanol system?
6in down pipe
@@Need4Built damn hell yea I'm gonna have to step mine up lol
did you put the stage 3 in with OBDEleven? im kinda bad at stages on cars i never done them
No, OBDeleven is for diagnostic purposes like clearing and checking codes. Also you can do pretty cool things like personalizing your car by changes things like lighting, etc. check it out and use my code: Need4Built10.
oobdeleven.com
To flashed the car I used 034 Motorsport’s cable and my phone. They have a mobile application now so flash on the fly from your phone. Really cool.
What a DREAM ride!
Agreed !
Can you talk about how ride quality and noise in the cabin are affected after adding the new parts? Also, is there a huge penalty to the fuel economy if you aren’t beating on it?
Ride quality is virtually unchanged but love all the pops crackles and burbles on Dynamic Sports mode; economy is down to about 15 miles/gallon
Only thing that really changed was the turbo noise. Much louder jet engine sounding intake and exhaust whistle noises.
On 91/93 octane I get 20-23mpg. On E60 12-15mpg. However this all depends on how much your foot is on the gas pedal.
You guys are awesome... It was so detailed when it came to seeing all the mods...
Thank you! Doing my best with what I got 😁
Good stuff bro! I’m pretty sure I spotted you on 167 today, your sq5 looks clean, like the sleeper look. I just picked up a q7 and thinking of doing some modifications as well, wake up the 3.0 up a bit😅 Keep up the content!
Hahaha let’s go!!
@@Need4BuiltDo you have a list of the parts I need to replace ?
Hi, I’m 16 and I have a 05 Audi tt Quattro with the six speed manual. It makes 225. What do you have to do to get on here?
Hey man! You got the 1.8T? Manual I’m sure Is fun as well. Not much you can do with those 1.8t’s unless you go custom build but few minor bolt on’s will get you somewhere!
Nice work fellas. Next up, after-market exhaust and new rear bumper to get rid of the fake exhaust.
Those 034 tunes are dangerous
Yeah… Dangerously QUICK. Yes, your face will hurt from the acceleration. Additionally you will find yourself spending your hard earned money on their entire Catalog to attempt to go even quicker and faster than before.
Which exhaust you running? Great sounding.
He’s running a cat less down pipe with the stock one exhaust. The high flowing tte810 makes it sound insane with all the extra flow. The whistle in person is crazy. I can’t recreate it on camera.
This Audi is getting sooo much mechanical romancing it gives you back some beautiful purrs
This comment is a perfect representation of what happened In the video.
Really solid video, and very impressive car. Can't imagine what it could do on decent tyres.
Part 2 incoming
bigger turbo always better, when i was building my f150 i was torn between twin turboing it and single turboing it, after daily driving an 88ml garrett that pushes the motor to around 1300 on ethanol i can confirm, big single over twins all day long
Big single definitely gives you more top end.
Work in progress 🏎️
I'd love to stage 2 my 2019 A7 but I just have concerns about the 7 speed DSG. Think it would be possible for me to swap in an 8 speed later on?
Why are you worried about your 7 speed dsg that’s stronger and more reliable than the engine itself? Just do maintenance on it every 40k miles.
Oh my goodness he he that's the coolest place for a turbo
Agreed! The only downside is the intake manifold being at the bottom.
Great work bro! Can't wait to get my 2018 SQ5 on Tuesday. Any suggestions on the 1st MOD?
Definitely Stage 1 ECU/TCU then Intake, turbo inlet, Intercooler!
The fun begins; don’t forget the inserts and the front and rear anti-sway bar… so much fun taking corners and accelerating before the cars are still on pressing their brakes.,.
Serious question & just out of curiosity. How much does this affect fuel consumption?
A little; but who cares?
Depends if you’re on pump gas or e60-E85. Also depends on how much you keep your foot on the gas pedal.
My personal SQ5 pushing the same power.. 20-23mpg on pump gas, 12-15 mpg on E60-E85.
i see this channel going places
Thank you for saying that man. I think with hard work, dedication, fun content, I’ll get there!
It’s nice to see Washington content creators

What are the signs of water pump failure in the 3.0T? I have an 18 RS5 but have heard it can also be a weak link in the 2.9T
3.0T and 2.9T have the same issue with the water pump thermostat and bypass valves. The rs5 has even a weaker link.. the intercooler (on the drivers side) craps itself 😀
@@Need4Built I converted my to air to air
incredible SQ5!
possible to have info on the central screen model
is the screen touch-sensitive? and with android auto wireless?
thanks
Insane build ❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it!! Hope to see you watch more of my content!
This oil cap was so crucial in this tuning ! thats insane
+10hp easily at a minimum
Hey Love the build. However on the E85 sensor using hose clamps on the sensor is not how it is designed to be used. Those can slide right off. You should use barbed fitting or if you really want to do it right QD to a fitting and a custom fuel line.
This can be dangerous if not done right.
I want to push 400 out of my b8.5 keeping it as stock s possible help ??
You can do 430Hp to the crank on a stage 1 Ecu/tcu tune without changing any hardware. Check out 034motorsport
the donut edit was hilarious
Donut = W
Next thing should be the exhaust system specifically the tail pipes have something like 4pips there...❤
Part 2 might have to happen in that case 👀
Really nice car! Would definitely throw a rear bumper of an ABT sq5 for those visual exhausttips
Those bumpers be expensive 🤣
That water pump failure with coolant migration is very common for the 3.0 turbo good thing it was caught in time before the car was completing buring on coolant
Definitely good catch. Especially before it went into the vacuum system as well.
I need something like that on my 7.5 gti, awesome content, wish i was that lucky , you deserve a sub for sure!
Thanks for subbing my man! Those gti’s got decent potential
Does the 034 turne remove the speed limiter. Asking for off road use only of course.

Great video, love watching your channel to plan out my future build on my b9 s5 coupe. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the support my man!
amazing video! you should do something like this with a x3m or x4m!
I really want to get into an x3m next
@@Need4Built that’ll be amazing especially now that they have a s58 motor in them! Not much on the road can compete with them FBO on E
@need4built
So impressive! Do you build these regularly for other people as well?
I wish I had the opportunity to build more of these. Hard to find people.
@@Need4Built Huh? Of course you can remove the crossbars. They are meant to be taken off and on. Do you mean the roof rails?
@@IainB Can’t remove the roof rails*
@@Need4Built lol of course not :)
@@IainB would be nice if it was possible. Less drag. Less weight. No stupid sensors.
You said Washington and I knew exactly where that spot was from the beginning of the vid. I’ve taken pictures of my car on that road lol

Do you notice much noise from the 034 rotors with that J hook design?
Not with Hawks 5.0 HPS’s. No noises at all. People keep using track rated pads like EBC but you don’t need a dusty ass loud track pad that doesn’t bite until it’s very hot. Just a sport street pad is enough like the Hawks.
Thank you so much that has helped me a lot man I really appreciate it
Thanks for commenting!
Great content, I really liked it.
Glad you enjoyed
I would also recommend you replace the vacuum reservoir as we have seen coolant collect in there and get sucked by the vacuum system again
@@Need4Builtya we see this all the time.
@@Need4Built yeah when these first started coming in we just replaced those but we started having some come back with more issues because the reservoir would be full with coolant
Which diverter valve did you install and whats up with the stock one?
I installed a new oem one. Current aftermarket options aren’t rated for over 600HP and leak boost.
Bro absolutely love this, looks like a good idea for a future sngine and transmission swap for countries that did not get these engines.
Agreed! 💪🏻
Sick video! Nice job showing what these grocery getters can do with some bolt on mods!
Do you know what steering wheel that car has? I need one for my SQ5.
Yeah get extremely fun that’s for sure. Worth every penny.
I’m not sure where the owner found that steering wheel wrap/cover honestly.
My wife and I would love a sponsored car. 2018 white SQ5 diamond stitched seats flat bottom steering wheel and twin boys that asked for that as I was watching 😅🎉 great videos keep it up

034 street density. Iykyk.
Best engine mounts to go
Sweet build! The amount of wear on vehicle was insane! Prob would have failed pretty soon if you didnt catch all of that.
Pretty good timing I agree!
