I just ordered an NMonospace for installation next year. I hope the performance will be as good as what I saw on this video. I did try out KONE elevators in other establishments. The rides were quite smooth and not noisy at all. I guess I'll find out once our unit is up and running already.
Mine too. Almost everyday now I rode KONE elevators, it's better compared to some Korean-made elevators which I often rode from 2015 to the beginning of 2019
The video above might prove you wrong. If you have any proof, feel free to comment. The video shows that it uses a small motor called an EcoReel to move the elevator downwards using belts, with counterweights at the top to pull the car back up (the motor can't push it up as there is no tension, this is what counterweights are for)
this looks like a further development of the KONE MaxiSpace. I didnt like the Maxispace so much as its motor has to be quite powerful as there are no counterweights used. But I wonder where there is the advantage of two smaller counterweights rather than a big one. If yuo split a bulky conterweight up, you have just two of them, which - being put back together - have the same size as before. To reduce the space taken by the counterweights, it seems that they must be made of a very heavy material so less volume of it is needed or the motor has to be more powerful.
MaxiSpace is a technology based on a regular traction motor but it doesnt have any counterweight. Therefore the motor is more powerful (called: "PowerDisc"). The MaxiSpace's purpose is to replace old elevators with counterweight by a new one where the missing counterweight allows a bigger cab with more space (= "MaxiSpace")
@@PostTower Actually PowerDisc lifts have a 10:1 cabling configuration so the motor doesen't need to be high torque. Instead the motor needs to spin very fast because of the 10:1 ratio.

The math doesn't add up. How can the car now be 50% bigger with two counterweights, that in total need to be a lot heavier than the full car so that the elevator can go up? And how is this more efficient if it requires a much more powerful motor? I mean, in normal elevators, the counterweight only has to be as heavy as the car loaded up to its 50% capacity. And an half full elevator is then perfectly balanced and has minimum power consumption.
We have 2 elevator in our healthcare facility - 4 floors each. People are using mostly indoors weelchairs for comming around in the building, getting their daily newspaper and mail and they using differnt models for shopping or their walkers. No chance for the steep stairs in the building. Kone did start before Easter holyday 2022 to take out both elevaters and now end May they are still not finish at all. Very friendly guys, very well educated. But parts are coming slowly and they are getting one part for one elevator and not for the other. So they are shifting forth and back from one Elevater to the other dependig which parts are arriving this day… this is 2022 Hello! In building where people are depenting on elevators and can’t use stairs at all, and healthcare personal is running up and down 2x 4 floors for 8 hours every day, with all the instruments and supply from floor to floor and sometimes live is on stake - this kind of awkward and unprofessional logistic Kone is showing here is not excusable at all. So many people are locked totaly on each floor for month. After fire department was needed to lift out a person from 4th floor, the Chief of fire department decleared, this was totaly madnes in healthcare. When fire occours, there is no chance to escape when both elevators in both buildings are impossible to use for month. So now finaly the parts are comming in pairs and can be set in place and no waitingtime before the next part arrives. KONE should in such a case work day and night and weekend and have a perfect logistics for the parts. This looks for me as an Engineer totally unprofessional. Sorry dear colleagues in our neighbour country Finnland. You have to improve logistic a lot more, to reach a status of professionalism - at least here in Scandinavia, in Norway. I hope the logistics and planning is a lot better in other countries. What I have seen now, did not impress me at all. 😱🥺🥵

Nice glossy video, shame that not the truth, the video at the start is what you get from kone, 1 good lift in 50 is no good to anyone, VERY POOR installation quality & unreliable drives etc, YOU GET A BETTER LIFT AND SERVICE from a smaller independent company, JUST MAKE SURE that independent company is not owned by kone.

The KONE NanoSpace is a bottom drive elevator.
There is a man at the bottom and a man at the top and they take turns to hoist the rope holding the elevator up or down.
