Oh wow, I was watching Wandering Turnip yesterday as he went around many old industrial sites, empty buildings in Sheffield, explaining their history, and I immediately thought "Where's Matt?" And there you are!
Another great explore Matt & Liam, I believe this used to be the medical centre for Firth Browns back in 1950's, A lot of Steel works had their own hospital/emergency treatment areas as it was dangerous work back in the day and they could administer treatment/first aid on site immediately.Hidden underneath what is now the Garter Street Recycling Facility car park, lies the remanents of an old hospital used to treat injured steelworkers. The medical centre was part of a much larger complex attached to the Firth Brown steelworks. Firth Brown Steels was initially formed in 1902, when Sheffield steelmakers John Brown & Company exchanged shares and came to a working agreement with neighbouring company Thomas Firth & Sons. The medical centre served as a Casualty Clearing Station (CCS) during World War Two. When Firth Brown Steels relocated in the 1950s, the old site was demolished to make way for new commercial developments. The area that encompassed the medical centre still used occasionally until it was levelled off to make a car park for local businesses, hiding the site underground.

Why did they have an underground hospital?
A great explore matt happy Christmas
Homeless need a roof, out of rain. History.
Great stuff! About the closest to an underground explore is a septic tank on my own property that was making weird sounds one day.
I WOULDNT GO IN!

Imagine all the patients that had to get up that ladder to get to the hospital 😅
Much respect ♥️🇬🇧✝️

Used to have decent relics in there till the morons smashed them up
You need to invest in some waterproof socks. So if water does manage to get through your walking boots your feet will still be dry.
i TRIED THOSE BUT THEY ARE TOO HEFTY
On Balance Matt, are you enjoying the Pocket 3 more than the Pocket 2 or is it a hassle?
POCKET 3 PICTURE QUALITY IS GREAT AND MUCH BETTER THAN THE 2,THOUGH IS HAS CENTERING PROBLEMS BUT OVERALL I CAN LIVE WITH THAT.
