This place was originally Meredith & Co, paint and varnish manufacturers in the 1890s, before it became a home for nurses in the 1950s - the orthopedic hospital itself was up on Broad Street, which later became a bar/restaurant and it too is now totally bando ;) There's a cool little Masonic foundation stone on the corner of the building too, laid with full masonic rites by Sir William Wiley, Provincial Grand Master for Warks. dated for the 20th May 1939. Apparently they gave a ton of cash towards it (the home cost ~£30,000 back then). Always fancied seeing the inside of this one since it got sealed off about 3-4yrs back so thanks for the explore!

Jordan is so funny. There was some well dodgy floors in that place . I was expecting Jordan to start Screaming. I've gone through help me. All these buildings going to ruin it's a shame. But they make great Urbexing videos

My mum used to cook Christmas dinner for 12 people on a cooker that size. Talking of Christmas, that was usually when TV's, back in the day, went wrong. Also they were bloody expensive back then, so you'd rent one. How entitled are these yoots these days, lol.

The old nurses accommodation for the old eye hospital and I think the old general hospital. When I worked on the doors late 80’s early 90’s often walked nurses back at the end of the night.

In the days of TVs using valve tech, faults were fairly common. People would often whack their TV to get the picture back & sometimes it would work

That room with the 'blast' door near the start of the video is possibly a gas cylinder store, or hazmat storage area as those two areas must be secure and have some sort of ventilation and fire protection system and are often in the basement of older hospitals, newer hospitals keep their gas cylinders and hazmat storage spaces in other locations however for legal reasons I can't say where they will be normally!

You can clearly see where they broke the lock to get into this place. Bunch of jobless criminals. They finally got reported to the local police yesterday. People are going through the other videos to notify the owner of properties that have been previously broken into and vandalized by the hosts of this channel.
