I was fortunate enough to experience the Q-club in the mid to late nineties. The rave scene was massive at the time. I remember that they had the turntables on a huge platform that was suspend from the ceiling. There was also a scaffold platform in the middle of the main room, right where one of those wooden huts are in the vid where the lighting controller sat. One of my favourite memories is of me sat right at the top/back, completely wasted with friends, looking down on one of the most amazing light/laser shows ever. Was epic. ❤️
What a building. Sad part is, you can almost be sure that the pipe organ is one of its last type. They won't spend the time, money, or space on building anything like it again. The same sound effects can now be generated on a laptop computer. I can't play a musical instrument but I can appreciate the resources and effort that went into building and maintaining that pipe organ. Great explore. Thanks for taking us along with you for these things.
At least they care more about history in the UK (but not enough apparently). In the US, we would take a wrecking ball to the Mona Lisa if it was in the way of a new fast food joint or apartment building for people with gov benifits. No body cares. All these people protesting to abort their children or protest for civil rights for terrorists in Palestine, but absolutely no one protesting to preserve history. A big chunk of the country is more worried about their new and bizarre selfish wants and needs, they never think of anyone else or the future for their children.
This was an amazing explore for me - I spent most of my late teens early twenties here most weekends! Best times. Cubby hole at the beginning is where you left your coats. The big frames on the stairs had the headliners for the month advertised. I remember coming out 4am in the mornings and you could hear the call to prayer from the mosque all over the city, eerily beautiful. We would make our way to an abandoned warehouse just up from corporation street to carry on raving at the after party xxx
So glad you explored this amazing building. Spent many weekends in the que club in the 90s. Quality venue for underground music. I've messaged many explorers including Sam and jess to get in here..spent many nights off my face In here with good music and good people. Till 6am There was no other venue like it. This video has allowed many memories to.come flooding back so for that I sincerly thank you Mathew 👊
Bloody hell Matt that was a epic explore. You made a cracking job of that one !! That was so lucky taking those imodium before you went up that tower, you would surly have shite yourself at 56-27 when you opened that wooden door. I had to watch it three or four times. Epic epic epic. Thanks Matt take care and keep em coming.
You're half explorer and half archaeologist Matt. Really neat seeing you peel back the years of that great old building's varied occupants. Thanks for sharing!
Now that was HUGE! Hell, they even posted your pictures up saying these guys should explore within! From the bottom to almost the top, great urban exploration indeed! Thank you, Matt, Liam, and Mike. What a place to get turned around in.
Qclub Birmingham, Flashback raves👌 Soon as u walked in that main arena! Could hear & feel the vibe all us oldskool ravers know. Getting lost in corridors, £3 for an ice pole, bumping into fellow ravers u met last time u was there. Add on top the anticipation of waiting for your fav dj to don the main arena. Best times.
As you walked down the corridors to the main room all you could hear was the bass vibrating and rattling all the wooden door frames. Absolutely mind blowing walking into that room for the first time with all the strobes and laser lights and massive sound system stacked up at the sides of the pipe organ. ❤
Thanks, for exploring this, I was wondering what had happened to it, when I mention it to people they have never heard of it. I used to go to Atomic Jam & Flashback
Thanks for the fantastic journey on this one Matt and co. The place is humongous with so much history to it's name..Fair play for heading up the tower. This is definitely one of my favourite explore videos to date
Brilliant!. Your reaction to that door in the tower was priceless! 🤣 Great explore guy's, that building deserves a second life, let's hope they follow through with the regeneration!.
I was hoping it was you who went in...saw some videos the other day somewhere. I went to the last Atomic Jam in there in 2012 just to experience the building...ended up loving Techno and well the rest is history. Went there again around 2014 and 2015 and only half the place was open. For me the best venue ever.
I fully expect you to come across a raver still lost and roaming the hallways. It was so easy to get turned around in there. Bear in mind you were seriously hammered trying t negotiate the stairways and that rabbit warren of backrooms and passageways. Birmingham has a whole subterranean network. That bank vault? It's also connected to the police station and both are connected to the crown court.
Some of the best times on my life in this place early 2000's. Thanks for taking me back, gave me goosebumps going up them stairs. Best enue i ever raved in, such a vibe to the place 🎉
What the clucking chicken, bloomin' heck guvnor, was all that! Such an impressive explore, well done guys. I wish I had the courage to do this, I practically fainted when you opened the "door" at the top of the ladders... Given how long it's been derelict I thought it would have accidentally, on purpose caught fire by now but fair play it looks like the block is being done up. There's a lot of real estate being left to rot in Birmingham at the moment, and it's great to have it recorded, thanks guys.
25:42 vividly recall sliding down that banister 06:00, sun blazing through the windows, birds tweeting away, end of the night, everyone still jostling, businessmen in their jags going to work on a Sunday morning scared shitless as 3500 ravers all emptied onto Corporation street! Mint! The memories!
That was an epic explore Matt. I really like these Long videos. What an outstanding building. Sticking your pictures up like that just shows how much you are bothering them. They are very sad individuals. But really it's free advertising for you & your channel. Please make more of these great videos :
Such a beautiful building, left to rott like the rest of Birminghams buildings! whoever takes this on eventually and puts it back to how it was will be amazing! This is a landmark building in Brum, why let it go to waste 😮😮😮😮😮😮
Thank you for this upload. I posted my experience exploring this location on my RUclips, but seeing it at night adds another perspective, and it was amazing that you were able to go so high and capture the city of Birmingham lit up so well. Your content is always a treat to watch. Thank you, and keep up the great work. T
I would of gone to the top of that tower, I mean once you are over a hundred feet up, any higher is just more a bit more time to think while you are plummeting to the ground😆 Gaz Yorkshire.
Those pipe organs are amazing, I used to clean churches as a teenager with my parents, the complex mechanisms to create all those voices on the keyboard blows my mind.
Mug shots in the window of the planning office ,mmm, five of you Matt ? one with WANTED on it, ? mmm. looks like some one was expecting you , not what you want on secret urbex mission. Think you better puff some more of that nicotine Matt . 🤣there's more than meets the eye Unless you knew it was already there of course ? none the less highly entertaining. Can't wait for the next one.🙂
Indeed amazing Matthew A warren of golden goodies Clock tower climb crazy exciting Interesting folks Cheers Matthew Thank you very much Greatly appreciated
In my mind's eye I can still see Ginger Ben silhouetted and 'dancing' in the top left door (27min48) beyond the sound desk/lighting. Always looked like he was dancing to a different rhythm to everyone else. Back of the room was my fave spot for taking it all in. Green laser and strobes. Laser operators were always fully out of it - I think they got part paid in pills.
I wish my old neighbour Elliott was still with us to watch this with me, he did door work on and off at Q in 1998, I went in one night and it was a bit overwhelming for a non clubber (at that time). Rip El, a lot in Pensnett miss ya.
😂 They are giving free advertising and they can't write derogatory statements or you can sue them for defamation! Thank you for the awesome tour Matt! 😮 That's a huge rat warren, gorgeous old building! ❤
Great video Matt, when you was flying the drone, i couldn't help noticing that no cars were driving on the road or people walking about,it was like a ghost town, the pictures of you all in the window was mad lol.
Hi Matt, Best two hours l watching this video. The tower was unbelievable. l would never attempt to go up there very scar. It was crazy seeing your photos in the window when you were in the same room. Great explor Matt 👍
What an amazing place! It’s huge with so much to explore and some great features and staircases. Good that the building is listed - it definitely needs preserving. Great advertising by somebody 😂😂 they must really, really love you! - and Liam and Jordan!! Thanks for a great explore Matt 👍👍

Ornate buildings always make the best locations for the clubs, must have been so good. I can imagine the atmosphere
Amazing urbex went to this club bk in the day as I live in Birmingham the Q Club was an epic club 👍
I used to have flyers for the Q club back in the 90`s. I only went to Skegness raving lol.
Mad club back in the day. Loud, dark and dirty. Looks way bigger in real life, especially when packed full of ravers. Cool explore, Matt.
✌️😎

Amazing, I DJ’d here in the main hall a few times about 16 years ago. Impressive building.

My reaction to the Pictures was the same as Matt’s was like a wolf of wall street moment when he’s watching the telly😂😂😂

Epic explore Matt, I hope that building gets a new life it deserves. Shame the organ will probably get trashed before then though.
