  • Vintage Guitar Oldenburg and Tobias Hoffmann present a Gibson Les Paul Custom from 1969. More infos at: www.vintage-guitar.de/detailsv...
    The guitar shown was played through a Fender Deluxe Reverb from 1978 and recorded with a Shure SM57 (left) and a Sennheiser 409 (right) . The backing tracks were recorded into a Fame Twin Looper on the same instrument right before the recording of each video. A Red Panda Tensor was used for additional loops and sounds. Overdrive Sounds come from a Vemuram Jan Ray and the Greer Amps Lightspeed as booster.
    Tobias Hoffmann is a award winning guitar player from cologne, germany. He combines the sounds of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Surf and some experimental stuff. Check him out:

      Same here. Normally I find Gibson too dark. This one sings.

      The Lespaul customs or the Eastman sb57 usually have a clear glassy sound.

    You are, hands down, the best Guitar Demo player on planet. No one captures the vast dynamic range and possibilities of each guitar you demo any better and more completely. I'm always even able to hear little squishy areas in each guitar's fret-zones, and have a sense of where my first issues would be with each guitar, or if there would be any. The little zones of fret buzz, the clarion areas, relative to pickup positioning and the tonal variations depending on whether you're using fingers to pick or a plastic pick. Staggering bravo. If anyone can spend 10-50K on an amazing vintage instrument without playing it you are the conduit to that transaction. Hope they're paying you well for what you do!

    One of the best clean Les Paul sounds I have ever heard. Guitar too rarely used in this register. Very elegant. The sound of the second half more loaded reminds me of John Scofield, it is far from being a criticism.

    Much like the KegMeister on the instrumentals .. this is what PK has done on the past
    albums .. there are quite a few to listen to ! Referring to the many instrumentals from the
    amazing Phil Keaggy ( the KegMeister ) .. "What A Day' is one of his first !

    Die exakt gleiche Gitarre habe ich Ende der 70er für 300 DM gekauft und wenig später für 700 DM verkauft. Es war neben anderen LP Custom Gitarren die ich besaß hörbar und spielerisch Beste von allen. Die Gitarre der ich am meisten nachtrauere. Wer weißt wo sie jetzt steckt. Vielleicht in Oldenburg 😅Dufte über einen cleanen Silberface gespielt übrigens. Genau so

    I love all guitars since it's toned right, each one has it's magic, but I must say, I'd never see nothing like this... Probably the queen of the guitars, in a great guitar toner hand, what a sound! For real, I've seen a thousand before. Congrats! Great player also of course.

    Happy New Year! What a beautiful, tasteful piece to find on 1.1.23 😀 I have a (more or less) identical model from 1968 - it's not always obvious when talking about Les Pauls in general how beautiful the simple, clean tones can be.

    • @VintageGuitarOldenburg
      @VintageGuitarOldenburg  Месяц назад

      It is an improvisation, in most cases Tobias improvises and does not know beforehand exactly what will emerge. Sometimes he processes well-known melodies or chord sequences and improvises on them.
