TIP FOR REMOVING THICK GREASE: I use a heat gun, or steamer, to soften the grease some then use a plastic scraper and it'll scrape right off like sludge, then the cleaner to finish! 🙂
When the grease is that thick, step one should be to use a paint scraper to scrape off at least the outermost part. That leaves less to remove, but also it removes the outer skin of the grease and exposes the remaining residue to be more susceptible to chemical cleaners.
I'd be tempted to use a 1,000 amp laser but that's likely to also remove paint if the paint is dark. Such lasers are sold to remove rust from metal and it's the darker colour that absorbs the heat vaporizing it. I usually lay down paper towels and spray the cleaner onto that till it sticks to the surface then respray every 20 minutes for hours, at least four hours if not longer, really depends on how long I'm willing to stay up though I use an alarm to remind me to spray so short naps are possible. That oven door is removable without tools, you could actually have it soaking in a bath tub or a disposable wading pool. Disassembly really helps with cleaning. Waxing the cleaned surfaces several times with car wax might help make future cleanings easier but of course it would then need regular rewaxing hence frequent cleanings but it should be frequently cleaned anyways. I have seen people use mineral oil to dilute the grease and make it easier to clean especially with kitchen cabinets. I also use those scrub brushes that you attach to electric drills a lot.

@johnmal5975. Would ammonia be ok to use on greasy sticky painted cabinets, inside and outside? The doors never got put back on after painting, so the whole kitchen has been like open shelving for years. Thanks for a reply if you have time.
@@sandy-rr1by Should be okay. Try small section first that is not noticeable. To be safest you can neutralize the ammonia with a solution of vinegar and water. You don't need a lot. Ammonia is pretty safe on most things. It's by far the best carpet stain remover and no it wont hurt your carpet usually a 50-50 mix with water for carpets.
What about opening the top of the stove to clean underneath the burners? I didn't see you do that. There's a ton of grease under there! I'm enjoying your videos and love that you are helping people!
I used my steam cleaner on my oven and it worked. I use my steamer a lot. I have one fir the floor too. This method is too time consuming and yes, you hav3 to be careful with ammonia.
@@jennyoliver6479 Yeah, but anyone watching this channel most likely doesn't have an oven with 3,650 days of grease buildup, lol. There is no method in existence for cleaning this stove that would not be time-consuming.

I wonder how TSP would work. Especially on the cabinets. Gotta take precautions too cuz it's some bad ass stuff but I doubt it's worse than ammonia. Keep the windows open, gloves, mask etc. Whatever it recommends for caution. Get some kind of scraper in there too. Pretty crazy that mess. Nice to help an old man. Good job. Satisfying.
I'd venture that the inside of the oven is as bad as mine, would love some suggestions on how to clean it. It's self cleaning and can't use ammonia, certainly no easy off or vinegar and baking soda. (tried the latter many times)
I’m a professional cleaner I’d handle this with spraying dawn power wash over whole stove and range hood and let it sit while I clean something else then come back with scrub cloth to get off the grease. Magic erasers work great too
I think I have watched your earlier video also, about cleaning the kitchen, stovetop, floor for this gentleman. And I tried to follow your tips. I used Amonia the bottle I bought from Home Depot. Diluted, concentrated, with other chemicals, baking soda, Vinegar, salt, Hydrogen Per Oxide.... But, I could not get the burnt in, caked, dried greese from this one burner that is used the most on the stove top. The only thing that worked, I was very, VERY careful with the razor blade. It did peal off lots of that grunge. I am still at it, but very slowly, I don't want to scrape the paint off this, only 3 years old oven/stovetop. Did I miss anything from your tips? Not sure. Any ideas?
What a great job you’ve done. You’ve got a ❤️ of gold. Sad that it got like that in the beginning. Why did a relative not go in maybe once a month and help out with cleaning? Would have saved all your hard work 🌼
Sometimes friends and relatives are just as bad off if not worse so that they are unable to help. Also, usually people like this man don’t have relatives, or their relatives live far away because the person refused to move with them away from what this person considers home and/or refused to move once the health problems became an issue. On top of that, often people in poor health or of poor mind don’t ask for help and/or in fact refuse it because they think it puts people out. They don’t want to be a burden, real or imagined. I think it’s important to tread carefully when looking at situations like this one in the video. We can never really know the whole story. Just appreciate the goodness where you see it and be thankful for it when it happens.
Sodium bicarbonate or washing soda powder mixed into hot at you can stand hot water will cut through grease with no scrubbing. It’s amazing and costs pennies to buy. Wear gloves though as it makes your hands feel soapy as it will degrease your skin too
What most impressed me was your empathy and nonjudgmental comments and demeanor. Thank you‼️

@@jennyoliver6479 Yeah, but anyone watching this channel most likely doesn't have an oven with 3,650 days of grease buildup, lol. There is no method in existence for cleaning this stove that would not be time-consuming.
I use Brillo Basics Orange Degreaser wipes (it also comes in a spray). It cleans my oven hood like a dream. I was socked that it removed the sticky build-up. It's a keeper!
I bet yours don’t look like his. He need just what she’s putting on it
I wonder how TSP would work. Good job. Satisfying.
A scraper would make that job a lot easier and quicker.
Have you tried dawn powerwash and magic eraser
What if it’s on the walls? How do I get it off without destroying the paint completely?
You need a scraper and a Scrub Daddy like Aurikatarina uses!
Liked your video
Thank you Priscilla 😃
I'd venture that the inside of the oven is as bad as mine, would love some suggestions on how to clean it. It's self cleaning and can't use ammonia, certainly no easy off or vinegar and baking soda. (tried the latter many times)
Have you ever tried Krud Kutter or 409?
I’m a professional cleaner I’d handle this with spraying dawn power wash over whole stove and range hood and let it sit while I clean something else then come back with scrub cloth to get off the grease. Magic erasers work great too
There's no way in the world I'd let an appliance get this bad!!!
A tenant will!
A new stove hood would work great.
Exactly ain’t no way I’m scrubbing all that
Sodium bicarbonate or washing soda powder mixed into hot at you can stand hot water will cut through grease with no scrubbing. It’s amazing and costs pennies to buy. Wear gloves though as it makes your hands feel soapy as it will degrease your skin too
I really don’t understand why people say baking soda and vinegar are great cleaners. They don’t do anything for me
How do you clean the greesy cabinets without damaging them too badly
You can use a mixture of turpentine and linseed oil.
Lookss whole lot better than it did 👍
Couldn´t really have got any worse!
I also use the little blue scrubbers, SOS pads with a degreaser. The blue stuff is annoying, but it does work.
