Wendy definitely has the best quality of vibrato between all of them. Her vibrato sounds so stable
i disagree. I'm familiar with taeyeon's vibrato and hers are as beautiful, in fact she can pull as beautiful even in a very low notes, not to mentione insane resonance even on her c5s too. Most of the highnotes they show here, its from her concerts/karaoke vlog, which she had like atleast 5/10 songs she sung before them, with some tiring choreos and everything. If you'd like to discover taeyeon's vibrato more as in my perspective, you can check her killing voice video out or her videos from begin again would be as great too.

tae’s mid range is so untouchable like it just rings and bada’s upper belt albeit strain sounds good for me😂😂 and i hope taeil can enter the top9x belter of 3rd gen though i am not sure since i feel like soloist will also be included

It felt like I'm the main character of a tragic drama. Her resonance sounds so satisfying for me.
Actually, Wendy's vocal range is very wide (4 octaves - very few idols in Korea have such a wide vocal range) so she can hit high notes softly and comfortably 👍
Taeyeon and Bada too, they sing very well and have a good technique in their voice.
In general, SM is the best vocal 👏👏
Her range isn't 4 octave since happiness era, she never showed she can reach those hights

Wendy Mid High AA-P she was misevaluated
Bada definitely takes the cake in how healthy her light mix is, she’s been singing very heady to reduce too much of the strain and she sings in a way that is just easy for her.
Wendy comes second and although she doesn’t belt as much as Taeyeon in rv songs she definitely holds herself up there with Bada. At debut Wendy had issue similar to Taeyeon that i’ll mention later but over time she has lightened up her mix and started mixing lighter and headier to sing in a way that is also easier for her.
Taeyeon in upper 5th belts isn’t any worse than the two she just has the issue of taking too much weight up but she definitely knows how to hold herself and can even sustain F#5’s easily.
In the lower mid belts to Eb5 area i’ll have to give it to Taeyeon, her resonance is just unmatched and I can’t even explain how much power she holds with her voice in the A4-D5 area. Despite her support on D5’s not being as consistent as Wendy’s her resonance is just on another level in the A4-C#5 area

@NMSYAMIN although luna and lina can support higher than taeyeon, a4-c#5 is still taeyeon's turf with those very forward and big resonance (the best in kpop imo). even her d5/eb5 when resonant is great

In this clip that shows only high beltings it is this order. But overall Wendy takes the second place (right after Taeyeon), her low register is more developed than Bada's, and her head voice is also better, actually she's the best among these 3 talented ladies.

@@mooblink4ever899 well.. there are many objective standards to look into. but overall Bada is more of a belter while Taeyeon is more of a technical all rounder vocalist (better resonance, projection etc) so she wins.

Taeyeon's C#5 in Baby Baby might be my favourite C#5 of hers. She was just 19 there - young, bright-eyed, singing a cute song... and then out of nowhere just comes this huge C#5, and she smiles after like it was nothing.

Wendy's G5 showcase here was a little bit rough, but this is understandable since she's only having fun while sitting live. She had a better G5 attempt in So Chan Wee's Tears cover - her G5 was good there.

The Thing About SM’s Vocalist Is Their Distinctive Voice Color, Amazing Both Low & High Note (Wide Range Vocalist)
For Me It’s:
1. Taeyeon (Powerful, Great Control & Consistency)
2. Bada (Soft But Still Powerful, Great Control)
3. Wendy (Powerful, Widest Range, Great Control But Unconsistent Sometimes)

Taeyeon has my favorite vocal color and I really feel her emotions though her voice but I do find that sometimes (rarely tho) her highnotes sound a bit forced and pressed out? But she's amazing still. Wendy really impresses me with her ability to casually belt and do highnotes. And Bada really can do anything, she's just crazy.
Hope you can make more battle vids since there’s new material for Wendy to work with 🙌

People here fighting like they are vocal coaches when they don't have 1% knowledge, just know some musical terms so why not use them😂😂, as a vocal analyst let me tell those delusional fans these 3 are at almost same level, Wendy's approach is more heady but healthy, sloppy runs sometimes but proper use of diaphragm and good glottal airflow that's why she has a good mix and piercing quality, for taeyon she is good at belting but her approach is not healthy, descending notes are not well placed though her support is good till C5/C#5, her lower extension needs work, apart from that she is good, for Bada her approach is also very harmful i must say but her quality of placing notes is apt, pushing notes out sometimes with support sometimes doesn't, problem with consistent airflow and legato techniques otherwise good 👍
P.S- I wrote a few pros and cons of their techniques, there are more trust me but I can't mention them here as it will make this comment a little too large.

Not so educated about notes, but what I noticed in all of these, only Wendy sings easily like she doesn't need to bend down so much and force her voice to produce high notes.. her singing alone is already high quality..
The bending down is also can be seen as a habit/mentality. It usually doesn’t help nor affect the singer’s ability to produce note with ease, hence not really an indication of one’s level of technique development. It’s of course advised that one should have a relaxed posture but from the singers I’ve listened to, it doesn’t always seem to be much of an issue.

From what I've heard of Yedam he's a nasal Tenor with a shallow breath support that really limits his openness above E4. For Jeongwoo I haven't seen much of him unfortunately. You could link me with a perf or two (preferably live and non dancing) and maybe I could give a more overall view ^^
@@ReggieVu “When we were young”. I think he’s achieved a lot at such a young age. He was 13 when he sang “when we were young”, but I’m pretty sure he sustained very good vibrato and mixed a lot of emotions in the song. But ofc there are much better clips, but I can’t link them all unfortunately :( but you could search “jeongwoo when we were young”.

Taeyeon it's the best belter overall. From A4 to D5 she's pretty much unbeatable. Wendy does really good in this range but it's less resonant and consistent. Her and Bada have better approach in their upper belts.
hi, i'm new to ur channel and i'm enjoying ur vids a lot so far, keep it up! could i suggest 1) an sm main vocal ranking (i'd most like to see a ranking of their female main vocals - bada, lina, taeyeon, luna, wendy, ningning)? and 2) maybe double checking the pitch written at the bottom lol since i've seen some videos where the pitch that's written and the pitch being sung don't match :) for example, i'm quite sure taeyeon was aiming for a c#5 (although it was just a bit flat) in the c5 section at 4:00. just to clarify that i'm no vocalist and i don't know the first thing about singing but i am a classically trained musician with perfect pitch and my eyes and ears were a little confused at times when what i was seeing and hearing didn't match 😅 sorry for writing so much, wishing u well

I think in terms of belting, Taeyeon is clearly the strongest as she has a grasp on creating the most resonance, but she has the smallest range and once out of her range (C#5-D5ish) she starts straining. Wendy isn’t really a belter, but she has the ability to. She’s at her best at the Eb5-F5 area (which tend to be where western artists/Broadway put their belts). Bada doesn’t have as much connection so her “belts” aren’t as developed as the other two, but her range is incredible and she’s consistent all throughout even where Wendy drops out so she’s at her best above F5.
Her resonance these days are rare and she is Is now High Above average to proficient unfortunately she regressed
