    I got a 18238, champagne face, a couple of months ago. At one time I didn't like them but they grew on me. So I got one with some misgivings. Now I love the thing, I didn't expect the movement to be so good. It's not as flash or blingy as I thought. If you're in two minds like me, just do it.

    The problem with getting 18k polished is the edges eventually get smoothed out. The bezel here has the look of being polished several times as it no longer has a crisp look to it another problem with this soft metal is the bracelet becomes stretched, so I'd be reluctant to wear one every day

    I have 4 of these bad boyz. 1 day-date diamond bezel with diamond baguettes in the dial yellow gold president bracelet 18038. I have 2 yellow gold datejust one with black dial with small diamonds in the dial while the other has a green dial both president bracelet both 16018. But my fav is my 18078 Plain Jane day-date yellow gold with the bark president bracelet. All are 36MM. To me what makes the Rolex special is not only the dial but of course the president bracelet.

    The 18038 movement Cal3055 is not as robust as the double quickset 3155. If you want longevity, easy servicing and tiptop performance, go for the 18238.

    • @WatchAddictionReviews
      @WatchAddictionReviews  2 года назад

      well the 18038 functions great and servicing it is just as easy as the double quickset, the only real difference is a quickset day

    • @DonYang73
      @DonYang73 2 года назад

      @@WatchAddictionReviews of course it functions great when it functions great. Do note that the 3055 movent is well known for "sticking" day & date discs becos it uses the dial to hold down the discs. It is a common issue for 18038s being the first first quickset daydate. Rolex only perfected it in the 18238. I have owned many many 1803s 18038s and 18238s and still do today so i can tell you very surely that 18238s are the best and not only becos they are double quickset. Cheers

    The question one has with pre-owned without papers is how much servicing and replacement of parts have been done, and what is acceptable in order to retain its 'value', meaning that it can be reasonably appraised and re-sold. Perhaps paying for an appraisal for pre-owned vintages is worth it if you want to retain its material value i.e. 18kt gold.

    • @WatchAddictionReviews
      @WatchAddictionReviews  5 лет назад

      even with the original papers , it

    Mr Video Man the watch is not called a President in any way shape or form. The watch is called the Day Date. President is the Bracelet, l have a Gold Plated Seiko Kinetic Watch with a President Bracelet that l put on my
    Seiko, so it's not the Bracelet that makes the watch . Many have glanced thinking my watch was a Day Date. I think most know the Watch is Nicked named the President because Rolex gave the Day Date to President Dwight D. Eisenhower
    wear.
