@HeavyDutyTraining old fashion Sicilian pizza is way better than Detroit style pizza. Plus I almost always prefer a plain cheese slices over something covered in a bunch toppings. I want to taste the sauce and cheese more.
Makes sense that in the land of “more is better” the Detroit style pizza would simply add more of everything (more crust, cheese and roni) to the original Italian idea. Both are perfect depending on your mood or personal preference.

As a Californian, I take the happy middle ground. Pizza is a lot like fashion. It just depends on the weather and the vibe. I feel like new york style is perfect for summer, vs chicago style is better for winter. Because in the summer, having a thinner, lighter slice leaves you full but without feeling uncomfortable in the heat. It's nice because you can be out at the beach or in the city and get it by the slice as a quick lunch. Vs in the winter, a chicago style pizza is more filling and something you can either make at home or get delivered. When you make it at home, the baking process makes things seem cozier.

I’ve lived my whole life here and can tell you that the slice she was holding up is probably from one of those cheap Indian (no offense) $1 pizza spots. Lions, Tigers and squares is a premium product and should have been compared to a premium NY slice. That’s all I’m saying
Dumbass. Detroit pizza is better than that dogshit New York pizza
Chef John from food Wishes recently uploaded a video on home made Detroit pizza. Might be worth checking it out.
Rayyan Ali I seen it that’s why I clicked on this one
Do you know why Chef John speaks the way he does?
After all you are the John Snow of your pizza dough!
Edwar Johnson so he can go hiiiiiiighhhhh to lowwwwww sayyyy yessss than nooooo he talks upppppp then downnnnnn and its like whysssss he sounnnndddd like that 🤪
Yes!
Very insightful, smart and coherent comments at the end. Thanks..
Shouldn’t you comparing Detroit and Chicago style pizza?
I was thinking the same thing. Glad I scanned the comments first
Not if you want Detroit to have a chance.
Detroit Pizza Papalis deep dish is better then Chicago Giordano's!
DeeNice681 it may be better than giodarnos but nothing can beat Lou manatís deep dish Chicago styled pizza
Thinking on the same page with everybody lol! I'll put Detroit style against any city's style in America.
3:36 really? after makin some dissappointing expression for the nyc pizza? lol girl
IKR. She's a reviewer and afraid to give her view.
Dude put some pepperoni on the pizza. "Oh I gotchu bro"
I love when people enjoy their food with so much love and gratitude💚 it's very important to be grateful for what we eat and be a little stress free at times to really savour the moment & have the best times of our lives, while we enjoy the myriad flavours of that food. 💜🌻
Yes yes 👍🏾 but what size casket ⚰️ do I fit for all those that eat this is ? Hahahaha jk I say liberty 🗽 eat , what u want do what u want lol this looks like a Sicilian pizza on crack I don’t eat swine my Jewish self can’t touch this but I’d do a pizza like ultra veggies out
But bruh that ain’t even a real comparable New York slice
Pepperoni doesn’t even taste good
@@LeFaisDoDo you have never tasted a good pepperoni then
Grayson DuBose I guess you live under a rock.
@Grayson DuBose Did you even try pepperoni Or have you been eating salami
Why they throwing New York shade. They probably got that slice from under a bridge
Exactly😂😂😂😂, from what a $1.00 slice spot! Try famiglia pizza and i bet its waaaayyyyy better than that 1000lb pepperoni pizza any day.
Jim Will lol! you made water come out my nose
They found it in a hotel ballroom with slime everywhere.
Jim Will If that is what Detroit pizza is then I'm sticking with NY style. I'm from New England but NY style will always be the best style of pizza there really is no debate on a culinary level. Who the hell wants to eat a pizza that is half dough half pepperoni? Massive stomachache just waiting to happen. NY style is not only the most presentable, but it also has the perfect ratio of ingredients.
@@jaystark77 Going say the same. This is like comparing chopped steak from a dive in Detroit to aged steak from Peters in Brooklyn!!! There are WAY better slices in NYC. And I am not even a top fan of NYC pizza!!! Just calling like it is!!
Yes. Prince st and emmy squared ftw
Moxie Beast ASMR Prince St. sells Sicilian squares, though...
I've never disliked Ny, or Chicago style both fantastic. But, being from Motown here? Detroit style is just in my blood. My favorite!
54 seconds in,when you love scarface a little to much.
All I could think of is Cocaine much?
My thoughts
Who else is craving this pizza because so much pepperoni? Just me? OK...😢
Across the river in Windsor the pepperoni is shredded and double that amount
Not me! Pepperoni makes a pizza too salty and greasy.
Seriously. All these people in the comments are crazy. Its called proportion. I dont want to bite into a super doughy salty just tastes like pepperoni over doing it "pizza".
Me i want that pizza
I’d settle for half of the pepperoni on the Detroit slice
My god, I can almost taste the salt content of the pepperonis from my screen!
*Hey, there's some Pizza on your Pepperoni*
I think i gained 10 pounds by looking at this video
That's 2kg of sausage on 1 pizza lmao
Weight issues much?
So you weren't watching the video, but you were looking at it.
Good don't worry about it. How the hell im still skinny is beyond me.
@Spencer7445 _ considering that. I should still be fat. Now to be fair I don't eat as often as I should which is very bad. Other than that I also eat very healthy because I despise exercise. im happy to sacrifice good food if it means I don't have to waste time doing pointless exercise.
Detroit pizza looking like a heartburn on a plate 🔥🔥🔥
Have you tried it tho
@@kylebenjamin358 I’m not dissing it lol I love pepperoni
@@kylebenjamin358 but no I haven’t
I always thought Detroit pizza was just a car tire with cheese and sauce on it.

Shhh, that's the secret ingredient boi
@Tony Samson its called a joke you moron lmao

Mark Locono: it’s a casserole, not a pizza 😂
Let's Go Detroit! I never knew there was a Detroit-style pizza growing up in Detroit. That was just the standard for us.
But, does this pizza *_Become Human?_*
Lol
My question is how much pepperoni do they use in a year ?
chipchipersonmdphd thats only on one pizza buddy
Please open a Lions, Tigers, and Squares location in Los Angeles! Guaranteed hit!
Okay, I’ve been making Detroit-ish style pizza at home for last 8 or so months using my sourdough recipe and it’s a big hit. I want to try and make it more authentic and going to try the Wisconsin Brick and I’m also looking for some better pepperoni(have been for a bit locally). But it looks like these pizzas are baked twice? Once to melt cheese and then to cook the toppings?
If you're ever in the Detroit area, go to either Buddy's or a little place called Loui's in Hazel Park, MI. Best Detroit style pizza.
Yup, par-baking it before topping it can really improve your results.
Look up detroit style pizza company videos. Shawn randazzo rip, shows his international pizza expo award winning pizza recipe.
@@loriderringer1463 Buddys is good for the original deep dish but honestly drop by Jet's if you're not trying to deal with detroit and you'll get just as good of an experience imo. LC is big here too for their deep dish, it's pretty good for 8 bucks
As a Michigan native: that's Detroit love baby chef's kiss*
🤮
@@TheOneRealDJ Why is it bad?
As the people say, "Can't have shit in Detroit."

The partner on the right out here thinking he’s Scarface
I like Detroit style, Chicago style, New York style, California style...
Hell, I just like pizza I guess.
Pizza is a personal preference. 😋
0:55. Damn. That's so cool they got Scarface as a sponsor
I hate that they're comparing a whole pizza to one slice.
I hate that they're comparing it bc of the pepperoni. If that one slice had that much pepperoni on it, it would be amazing
Thank you because some people be stingy with their pepperoni
Tony Montana with the pizza knowledge
0:59 he look like Tommy vercetti from gta vice city LMFAO
😂😂
he be lookin like tony
Bruh... anybody from NYC knows that's a damn Granma slice
new york is full of gays
So Scarface was originally from Detroit? Well, i'd like to see that prequel
Actually Scarface was based on Al Capone then later the original charcter from the novels was from New York and later a film was made in Chicago & after that Miami and there is rumors for a reboot that set in modern day Califronia with a Mexican incarnation Tony aka Scarface.
@@mareo187 the Howard Hawkes\Howard Hughes version of Scarface was better. The reboot will suck when they infect it with all bullshit gangster rap nonsense into it.
@Kevin Prima agreed. Did ya know when then 30th anniversary (i think) came out, various rappers wanted their music to replace the OST but Brian De Palma side no. Fuckin people man. Hollywood's runnin outta ideas. That's why everythin is bein remade or rebooted
I believe he was from Detroit he loves cocaine and guns just like everybody from Detroit
Probably his dad, because he said his father was an American that came to Cuba and got together with his mom.
I gained 130 just watching this

I have been going to Buddy's, Shield's and Mr. Ed's (gone) for almost 60 years. Buddy's at 6 Mile and Conant in Detroit is the original.... and still the best Detroit Style Pizza! However, I LOVE NYC pizza too! My favorite on the East Coast is Frank Pepe's in New Haven, CT!! Best pizza I ever had was in Napoli, Italy! Done properly, there isn't any BAD pizza is there? 😂😂😂😂
