Hey Paul. I have been watching your videos for months now. I started my lawn maintenance business in 1998. I have always dabbled in spraying for weeds and fertilizing. About 6 years ago I started concentrating on weed control and fertilizing. No one, even the professional stores that sold me the main professional products, warned me about the damage pre-emergents could cause. I didn't know it at the time, but now I know this has caused alot of my issues with my centipede and St. Augustine yards. Thanks for your very informative videos!!!
Watching Mr Paul’s channel is just like going to a franchised store you know what your getting , an educated topic paul your awesome Im actually going down today with my Flumioxazin (semera sc) much cheaper than Sureguard but hey keeping the Tahoma31 clean & getting away more & more from those Root Clubbers thanks for the top notch Info & like the New place its 👍
Hey Paul, love the videos. I’m in Georgia and started my own side gig spraying lawns a couple years ago and learned 90% from your videos. Your sureguard/glyphosate TankMix has gotten me a ton of yards from the big companies. As far as the msm with sulfentrazone, do you add a surfactant with that this time of year? I nearly nuked a centipede yard last year with 8oz of dismiss and a NIS. It was actively growing though fyi
Just subscribed and enjoy watching the content. Just seeing if you had thoughts on killing quite a bit of poa on a north tx dormant Bermuda lawn. Thanks Paul
I was watching your videos because we're considering putting down Gly with Sureguard for round 1 in Oklahoma. But I notice that you're back to using prodiamine in 2023 on this video. Curious why you didn't stick with the sureguard?
Your The Man, Thanks for the Vids, You been workin' out Bro ? Strictly Bermuda ...What do Ya think about goin with Prodiamine .5 lb mid January and then 10 oz of Flumi in mid February ? I did a few really clean yards with Flumi last season, with 10 in Feb, and 2 in late May when Bermuda was really active, Flumi didn't really phase it . Had zero weed pressure except toward end of August with Goose started popping through in a few spots.
Could i use ornamec, quinchlorac, and tryclopyr all at one time for common bermuda and crabgrass in late april to get any that might have germinated? I have a new tTTF lawn that i reseeded last fall after a total burn down. In the years past my yard was infested with Common bermuda and crab grass. Trying to stay ahead of it. I put down prodiamine feb 15th. I live on eastern shore of maryland. Thanks for any advice. Thanks for all your videos!!
Hey Paul. No new videos.. hope all is well. Can you suggest a good fertilizer I can put down now on my Bermuda lawn. Usually buy my stuff from Allen’s in Rocky Mount. Thanks
Love your videos Paul. I’m a DIY guy when it comes to my yard. I noticed this year POA Trivialis is showing in my yard. I’m also seeing it in the yards that are professionally treated. Other than using Round Up is there anything new before I pulled the trigger on my roundup spray bottle. Thanks again. 😢😢😢
Dry fall in Tennessee with no irrigation. Do you wait to see if you get additional germination of seeds from fall overseeding or just cut bait and follow the traditional split application and push the lawn into spring and summer?
I've got a crabgrass question for you. I know the first big frost in the fall kills crabgrass, but is that because the cold actually kills it , or is it because the plant has matured and is ready to die and the frost is just the straw that broke the camel's or crabgrass's back so to speak? If the frost does kill crabgrass, does it kill young crabgrass in the spring? I live in the mountains of WNC. I usually apply barricade in late Feb. to early March, then another application in 6 weeks or so. We usually have frost up until the last of April to about the 10th of May. So is my first application really necessary as we usually get several frosts in between my two applications? Thanks for your videos and your answers to my questions.
The frost will kill it in the spring as well. But you can kind of put the double whammy on it if you reduce the population with those early apps and the the frost kills the escaping plants and then you get the second app out to protect your lawn for later into the season
Luved the cigar comedy segment. Great info! I’m 98% Bermuda in NE okla going to switch to Sureguard SC this season after using Prodiamine year after year. I assume my cutoff for Sureguard would be similar to cutoff for Glyphosate?
Great info, keep it coming. One ?- mentioned 1st prodiamine in Jan/Feb. With soil temps ~40 at that time, why not wait until soil hits 50? Would the early app decrease its effectiveness going into May/June? Virginia Beach area
If you get out early your covered no matter what the weather does. I have no choice but to start early to get it all done by April I have to get to hundreds of properties
I have sprayed thousands of pounds of WDG 65 prodiamine out of permagreen s at a 32oz per thousand and it works fine . You have to take the screens and filters out of the machine and pre dissolve the product before you put it in the tank , you can throw a lot of the spray volume recommendations out the window when it comes to the Triumph, we can get good coverage at 32oz per k volume
Paul, I love your show. I’m just a little concerned about you and your longevity. 😢 Because your work involves some powerful chemicals that you regularly apply to so many lawns, do you use a respirator? I don’t mean to be offensive sir.
I'm not so sure it doesn't hurt palisades zoysia some too! Mine took a long time to green up last year, but it could have been just the weather. I pre-emerged half of the yard and the other half I did not. I am going to see what happens.
Hey Paul, I’m late to the game and just realized xstart isn’t available anymore. What do you recommend for a fert? I’m going to be seeding a new lawn this spring in Bermuda so I’m curious what you think
I ordered generic SureGuard a couple weeks ago. I have some centipede mixed in bermuda that I want to get rid of. Im going to run glyphosate with the flumioxazin. From what I've found from NCSU, glyphosate on dormant bermuda would be 16 oz/A. Not sure about the flumioxazin bc I haven't gotten it in yet to read label. Is the 16 oz of glypho right and will it kill or knock back dormant centipede?
I run 32oz of glyphosate and 8 to 10 of flumi it should definitely help get rid centipedes if that doesn’t do it run monument on it during the growing season
Hey Paul can you use sureguard on bermudagrass sod that was laid in December (dormant), and if so how soon after laying it. I know sureguard isn't a root pruning herbicide but I still worry it will damage the sod if the roots haven't fully tacked down. Thanks man love the videos!
Depends on the weed … I like sulfentrazone better on sedge… I like carfentrazone for things like button weed and ground ivy. Sometimes I put um both in the tank🤯
My experience on centipede/St. Aug is that dithiopyr prunes less than prodiamine. I thought I was gonna have to call the sod truck the last summer I used prodiamine. I do use prodiamine on bermuda and zoysia though. Just my 2 cents.
