God Bless You, Dylan. I'm in the same boat in that I was brought up as an Evangelical Christian (Church of the Nazarene - which is, basically a very conservative Methodism.) I continue to work on this part of my life and to embrace believing that God/Universe/Source loves us all the same. Lately, it's been very comforting to watch and listen to some of the NDE stories on youtube. There is one from an Englishman who is gay and it, along with many others, has been quite inspirational. Thank you for your honest talk and your strong faith in what is good. In the Bible it says: God IS Love.
The topic yer speaking on hits home. I've had a close walk with God since I was 6. He and his angels have guided me all my life. I'm now 68. Being a country boy is tough. I've spent most of my teenage years having deep conversations with God walking in the woods hunting. Sometimes thru tears. He's my creator. God doesn't make mistakes. I don't believe he creates us this way to add to our struggle. This life is hard enough y'all. I've come to grips that if He made me this way, if I'm acting on natural feelings that that is how He made me. If I misunderstood my reading the Bible, I guess it will all shake out in the end.
You hit it right on the head Dylan, I agree with everything you said . Reach out to the Sunday School teacher if U haven't. You never know how important it may be to him. Keep up the good work man.
People are nuts to say that is not possible. Actually, before she died (And her son continues this, now) Tammy Faye Baker did a TON of ministry in the realm, because she knew there was a need, and a lot of gay people felt rejected by organized religion. Here in Kansas City, MOST denominations of churches have gay pride signs on their front lawns, that say "Everybody welcome". HUGE changes in the last 20 years.
Kansas City, MO? Is that what you are talking about? My dad's side of the family is from MO and I always wondered what it was like over there with churches and gay acceptance. I grew up in super liberal hippie town Eugene, OR. and I only remember seeing one rainbow flag at the Church Of Christ (the one with the chalice logo) here in Eugene.
Continue your ministry. Your message is needed for folks in your age range, and it is vital the message is from someone who is in their age range. Blessings.
Dylan this was a well thought out and stated video. You will touch people with this video. You can be a person of faith and be gay and have a relationship with God. Progress is slow but change takes time. Thank you for posting this video. You keep doing you and standing in your truth.
Dylan, if you feel moved to reach out to that gentleman that was gay from your church do so. It’s not weird. It’s allowing him to know that in some small way he had a positive influence on your life. And in the end isn’t that the greatest testament to a life well lived? Grace & Peace ☮️

Dylan you are wise and kind. I see true Christianity in you. I appreciate your videos. I’m older than you but there seems to have been a change in regards to being gay in the Church. There are things that are far more important. God loves everyone. I have been so hurt by things people have said to me and we all fall short. I’ve been called an “abomination” multiple times. I have also been told I was gay because of the sins of my family and people say it is therefore like “The Kennedy Curse”. I was a wreck too. Messed up as a pile of hangers. I got sober 12 years ago. I drank all of this away and wasted years of my life. I’m thankful I stopped drinking when I did because I would have faced serious health issues. I remember on 9-11 Jerry Falwell blamed gays for being partly responsible for the horrible terrorist attacks. That’s a lot to put on a person. I enjoy your videos. You are a joy to listen to!!!
I have never understood why you MUST belong to a structured religion to worship God. I am Christian and my husband is Muslim. Oh, as if it matters, we are both male. Our meeting point is that we believe in the same God. There aren't different gods for each religion, there is one God who is interpreted in different ways by different humans. He and I have the same thoughts about God and what we should do to please him. My husband shares passages from the Quran and I share items from the bible. There really isn't any conflict on this topic. We both believe in the same basic principles when worshiping God, we just do it in different ways and many, many times we are doing the same thing. Human created religions are tearing humanity apart.
I am Gay and a Christian!/Spiritual! God created us this way…they were always LGBTQ people since the beginning of time. Jesus knew this! I totally have a relationship with God (although not organized religion). It has its ups and downs, but I rely on that oneness with God and this physical world. When I finally came out of the closet for good, I remember feeling in my heart that I had to find a community of Gay people that still walked with God. I did........Metropolitan Community Church, eventually I moved away from that, but I am so appreciative of the role they played in my coming out and my relationship with God.
I like and agree with your statement, "When I stop growing, I stop living." Thank you for the courage to make videos where those in the LGBTQ+ community can discuss having a personal relationship with God. We are not the property of our parents. We came through them, but were not created by them. The everywhere present power called God created unique fingerprints & DNA for us. Every person belongs to themselves and to their God. Some gay and bisexual people who don't want to be found out choose to condemn the LGBTQ+ community. They believe that by doing so others won't suspect what is in their heart and mind. "It does not matter who you love or how you love, but that you love. The good in man is God made manifest and loving is the contribution to that good and to that only God. For in the end the act of loving anyone is the act of loving God.” - Rod McKuen, (paraphrased).
You won’t go to hell for being gay we go to hell for being unholy, Gods not worried about us being straight he wants us to become holy, come to him as you are but we must change our ways, all love and no judgement or condemnation! ❤
Okay, there’s a lot to unpack here so let me first say this. 1) I like you and enjoy most of your content. 2) I am NOT a Christian. I’m an atheist! 3) I am bisexual, and currently married to person of the same sex. 4) I am a left-wing progressive who promotes LGBTQ rights and inclusivity. I disagree with Christians who say you can’t be gay and also be a Christian. This is nothing more than a No True Scotsman fallacy. They are attempting to gatekeep Christianity based on their subjective worldview, which includes demonizing gay people. So they choose not to include you in their definition of “Christian” because it destroys their worldview. It’s a self-defense mechanism which helps reinforce their own beliefs, and manifests in homophobia and bigotry. Every homosexual who believes in Jesus Christ (or who once believed in the word of Christ) knows that you can indeed be a Christian and a homosexual at the same time. And even many churches now like the Catholic Church acknowledge homosexuals and include them in the congregation. How each homosexual Christian reconciles their sexual identity with their religion varies depending on the individual, their denomination, and their interpretation of scripture. Some believe that as long as they remain celibate, they are not living a sinful lifestyle and accepted into the new covenant. Others believe that Christ did not condemn homosexuals at all and that the words of Paul are based on a mistranslation of scripture. Others believe that everyone is a sinner and so long as they are repentant, then Jesus absolves them of their sins whether they are gay or straight. The point is, there are many ways of getting around the Bible condemnation against homosexuality. Having said that, my position (as an atheist) is that I reject scripture as an authoritative source of morality 1) because it has so many IMMORAL teachings in it, and 2) because it asks the reader to rely on faith instead of reason, and provides no empirical evidence for any of the extraordinary claims it makes. I do not consider faith to be a reliable path to truth, and extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence. I also find Christianity to be internally incoherent and the doctrines to be logically inconsistent. I also think that gay Christians are in some sense delusional! And I don’t mean this as a personal attack (because I very much used to be one), but I do think it requires heavy cherry picking and just straight up denial of the gospel in order to make being gay “okay” in your own mind. The people who were supposedly “inspired” by God were inspired to be homophobic. They specifically warranted the death penalty for homosexuals, so it’s very clear where they thought God stood on the issue. I will also say that it rather annoys me when gay Christians or liberal Christians try to pretend that Christianity is this all-inclusive religion, with an all-loving God, who accepts everyone when that is very much contradicted by the Bible. They want to turn Christianity into a form of humanism, which is antithetical to what Christianity stands for. Christianity places no value on humanity at all; it’s all about glorifying God (because the character is a narcissist). Christianity is NOT an all-inclusive religion, and Jesus absolutely does not accept everyone. Christianity is not about “love”, it’s about HATRED of humanity. Isaiah 64 says that your righteousness is like “filthy rags”. Paul says in Romans 3 “There is no one righteous, not even one”. And the words attributed to Jesus in Matthew 10:37 say: “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” I could go on and on… Con't...
Con't... Proverbs 6:16-19 says that God HATES certain kinds of people, including “a person who stirs up conflict in the community” (which gays have been accused of doing in many Christian communities). The Bible says that God drowned the entire world (Genesis 7), sent bears to maul 42 children (2 Kings 2), ordered genocide against women, children, and infants (1 Samuel 15), endorses slavery (Leviticus 25), declares that women are not equal to men (1 Timothy 2), that homosexuals deserve death (Leviticus 20), and says that MOST PEOPLE go to hell (Matthew 7). These are the kinds of passages that liberal Christians and gay Christians conveniently ignore when they try to misrepresent Christianity as some religion of love and peace. They forget that in Matthew 10 Jesus allegedly says that he did not come to bring peace, but the sword. This is not a God of love despite what the apostle John claims, but rather a god of hatred! That’s what the evidence from your own scripture shows. The conservative, bigoted, misogynistic, homophobic Christians who often align with white nationalism are at least very honest about what the bible actually says! They are not saying you’re going to hell because you’re gay because they don’t like gay people. They’re saying it because it’s literally what the Bible says (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Homosexuals will not enter into the Kingdom of heaven according to scripture, and they believe what it says. They are not hateful people by coincidence; it’s because the Bible literally tells them to be that way. You ignore those parts because your morality is superior to biblical morality. You don’t believe in the Bible because you KNOW BETTER. But it’s not real Christianity; it’s you trying to reinvent the religion to be better than it actually is. It’s not; it sucks! So why even call yourself a Christian? Why are you hanging on to that identity when it depends on putting aside scripture, which is its foundation? Trying to reinvent Christianity into something better just gives more people an excuse to hold onto it longer. It keeps them trapped in religious thinking and makes it difficult for them to break free of the insidious baggage of religion and to embrace reason instead. I think people (including homosexuals like you) hold on to Christianity more for emotional support reasons and use it as a crutch (coping mechanism) rather than as an sound epistemology that is consistent with logic. They pick and choose the “good parts” of scripture that makes them feel better about themselves, all while ignoring and making excuses for the grotesque parts (which condemn you based on your sexual identity). The Bible was written by uneducated, deeply immoral, wandering goat-herders living thousands of years ago. People who didn’t know anything about science, human psychology, rationalism, or the history of the world that existed beyond the Middle East. And that is the simplest explanation for why they wrote so many factually incorrect things, scientifically incorrect things, morally incorrect things. Religion is a tool that is used to control people. It is the “opiate of the masses”, and has only ever had the effect of hindering social progress. The quicker we do away with it in favor of science, rationalism, and humanism, the better off as a society we will be. I love you; your personality, your individuality, your courage, and your humanity. I am a humanist, so I very much appreciate your content and I’m glad that you’re able to live your best life. The thing I have a problem with is your religious ideology because I think that’s harmful to others. I know you’re not trying to convert me, and I’m not trying to deconvert you. I just want people to apply skepticism, have rationally justified beliefs, and healthy coping mechanisms. I think that religion provides false hope, and thus is not the best coping mechanism. Religion is not the only alternative to drugs and alcohol, despite what proselytizers want everyone to believe. People who are questioning their faith should not be stopped from doing so. They should not have their faith “reinforced”, but rather be allowed to deconstruct it fully on their own. There are other, less harmful ways to gain hope and to become better. I don’t think religion tends to help most gay people who grow up experiencing religious bigotry. You know firsthand what that’s like so I’m very interested in how you assess my comments.
Dylan, it is true hatred. You have it summed up correctly. And there is no way to converse with these people, who would like to have a law that would execute all people within the LGBTQ spectrum. Agree there is a little progress in some places, but the fight has to be fought over and over. Recently he Lt Gov of NC called us filth that needs to be eradicated. And in your neighbor, TN, legislature has passed law against the court decision on same sex marriage to allow those performing them the right to refuse to do their jobs. Alas. What a shame that something that can be so inconsequential in the totality of a person’s life can be the ONLY criterion for judging that person. Herman
There is a RUclips video called “Fish out of Water” on RUclips it shows how many Bible verses have been mistranslated. I love that video bc it absolutely destroys all of the so called “clobber” passage people try to use from the Bible to say that a gay person is wrong. Gay people are good people. We can have a relationship with god. If you have a chance wach “Fish out of Water” it’s a good documentary.
Dylan my prayers are for you. I am a man who has unwanted same sex attractions. Homosexuality is just one of the aspects of the fallen nature of mankind. In my past I lived a wild promiscuous homosexual life and had a lover. According to the bible, you can have a repented relationship with Jesus and suffer from same sex attractions and go to Heaven. But we cant live an active gay lifestyle and engage in homosexual sex and be a true Christian. God has called us to celibacy if we feel we could not be happy in a straight marriage.
I am from a Buddhist country. I am Buddhist. However, I have studied comparative theology during my student days in England. I must be honest that I agree with your negative commenters. Your religion very clearly has a disturbed and distorted relationship with human sexuality, gender, reward, punishment, and “hell”. I am always puzzled when I meet LGBTQ Christians. I simply cannot understand why they would choose to associate with a religion that has such a deeply shallow understanding of sexuality. I am involved with homeless LGBTQ youth organizations, and I have seen the same changes in our youth when they return to Buddhism, and the best thing is… there are no anti LGBTq texts in our scriptures, so no one suffers disillusionment when they are abused by a congregation (we call it ‘the sangha’). The fact that you have to defend yourself in this video makes it very clear that this religion is ultimately unhealthy for LGBTQ people. Sorry if this is offensive. Maybe I am just missing something.
Christianity is an anti-homosexual religion (many religions are I believe). You can practice whatever version of Christianity you want, but it won’t be biblical. I’m a gay guy btw, and I’ve just had to accept this fact after lots of research.
It is the Gospel that God so loved humanity and he gave his son - John 3:16. If it mattered that much to him, to say otherwise is sheer error. To say he loves us as we perpetually are however defeats the love aforementioned. God's love is redemptive, convicting, not laid back. It's actionable! In as much as he loves a murderer, he doesn't intend him to continue in that life. If God calls him, as he always does, it isn't so he continues to be the same self he was before God's love met him. It is that he changes his way and align to the will of God whose love has found him. Having a relationship with someone means you're on the same page with them -Amos 3:3. That relationship cannot be healthy if one party doesn't 'play ball'. In this case, the party is us. God has rules in his Kingdom which we must follow. The scripture says God has called us out of darkness into the kingdom of his dear son. It says the old man has been crucified and the life we now live is unto God. This is the gospel- God's power to save! Whatever tendencies there are in man are socially cultivated and the potter's message is 'I can remold you." Is it possible that someone loves God and they are not walking right by God? By all means, yes! What matters is that they are working on being aligned with God and God can see their efforts. Otherwise, redemption which is the very essence of Christianity means nothing if we are redeemed from nothing. Shalom!
Sexual immorality applies to all people not just gay people, any form of sexual acts before marriage between a man and a woman is a sin. If men and women are having sex with each other before marriage they will not inherit the kingdom of God and that goes for gay people as well… I’m a gay man and I thought I could have a boyfriend and believe in Christ and that was never the case.. because I was still sinning yet God still loved me and was willing to forgive me.. we have to turn away from sin, he doesn’t mind the attractions only when we commit the acts that’s where sin takes place, much love to all!
Nobody is good enough to make it to heaven for it is written, "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". That's literally the whole point of the cross. We are ALL hellbound by default. Every single human being. Christians are by no means good and if any Christian says they are good, they are modern day pharisees and hellbound, for goodness is God's and God's alone. Any goodness seen in us is merely a reflection of Him. The only reason we try to do good is because we realize that even our most insignificant sin was bad enough to crucify Jesus Christ, so it hurts God when we sin. This is what repentence mean: it is not just saying sorry. It is saying, "I am so grieved that I hurt you and I never want to hurt you again"...and true repentence is truly trying to live that out. That's why we try to live how God desires us to-by sacrificing our fleshly desires and give up ourselves and our fleshly desires to pursue Him in the spirit because we love Him. By the way, our God doesn't ask us to do anything He didn't already do. Jesus knows suffering. He knows what it's like to fight temptation. He knows that it's like to literally be killed for doing the right thing. He doesn't ask you for a perfection that one can't attain, but He desires that we love Him and if we love somebody, we show them. We aren't perfect and we stumble and regress at times, but we genuinely have a heart to please God. Any religion that says you can be "good enough" to be saved is false because trying to be good enough for a perfect God is an impossible feat. Even if we died for another human being, it would not cancel even the smallest white lie. Just because you give to charity, would a judge acquit you of murder? No, and neither will a just God. We can never be good enough to save ourselves, for our good deeds are like menstral rags and are worthless to save. But God knew that, which is why Jesus came. If you try to be good enough, that is saying that Jesus' sacrifice wasn't good enough...which is blasphemy because God already provided you with salvation when He died on the cross. He said, "it is finished"...so believe that. For it is written "God came not to condemn the world, but to save it". Salvation is already yours, all you have to do is repent, let Jesus work in you and transform you. So, yes, you CAN be gay, but if you really love Jesus, you won't act on it....just like every other Christian has to fight sexual temptation, so do you. EVERYBODY is welcome in the church, but if you continue to willingly sin, you are not a christian. Remember Jesus kept the company of prostitutes, tax collectors and criminals..but it was they who walked away transformed, not Jesus. If you harm somebody in the church because of unrepentant willing ongoing sin, you cannot be allowed to stay...which is just common sense, because this can destroy a lot of souls. Also, every single person has really strong temptations. This is not a LGBTQ-only phenomenon. If you resist the devil, he will flee. The only difference between lgbtq and a Christian is that Christians take what Jesus said seriously: the flesh and the spirit are at odds. If you foster the flesh, your spirit dies and vice versa. Giving into the temptations that satan try to kill you with WILL destroy your soul. This is what it means when the Bible says, "whomever loves his life will lose it and whomever hates his life in this world will keep it eternally. Don't live for the flesh, for it only lasts a short time...sexually, it only lasts for a few decades at best, so why put any emphasis whatsoever on something so worthless? Yes, God is love and, yes, God loves you, but He is also just. If you say you love Him, but do not have any actions in your life that reflect Him, He will say away from evildoers, I don't know you. This is true for every Christian, for we are saved by faith alone, but faith without works is dead (because it means we aren't serious and we don't really love God enough to put Him above our temptations). Our bodies die, but our bodies are a temple of God and we were bought at a price, so we are to honor God with our bodies and sexual sin is son against our own bodies.

And the words attributed to Jesus in Matthew 10:37 say: “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” I could go on and on…

Herman
Watch the National cathedral in Washington DC
God and Jesus I love you gay men good people cute good life true love you happiness rainbow heaven true yes yes 😇❤😊

Im .not a christian but i would say your relationship with Christ is not any one elses business
Hi dylan🤝👍🙏🏻🤘✋❤💯
Christianity is an anti-homosexual religion (many religions are I believe). You can practice whatever version of Christianity you want, but it won’t be biblical. I’m a gay guy btw, and I’ve just had to accept this fact after lots of research.
You poor petal, you are mislead I’m afraid.
God loves everyone.
Whatever tendencies there are in man are socially cultivated and the potter's message is 'I can remold you."
Is it possible that someone loves God and they are not walking right by God? By all means, yes! What matters is that they are working on being aligned with God and God can see their efforts. Otherwise, redemption which is the very essence of Christianity means nothing if we are redeemed from nothing.
Shalom!
Sexual immorality applies to all people not just gay people, any form of sexual acts before marriage between a man and a woman is a sin.
If men and women are having sex with each other before marriage they will not inherit the kingdom of God and that goes for gay people as well…
I’m a gay man and I thought I could have a boyfriend and believe in Christ and that was never the case.. because I was still sinning yet God still loved me and was willing to forgive me.. we have to turn away from sin, he doesn’t mind the attractions only when we commit the acts that’s where sin takes place, much love to all!
"Much love to all" you say! Who are you kidding. No gay person would want the kind of sick love you are offering.
Love is not a sin
Our bodies die, but our bodies are a temple of God and we were bought at a price, so we are to honor God with our bodies and sexual sin is son against our own bodies.
you have no proof that there is a god.
