The bonus part is that if you have an xbox, the DTS and Dolby apps carry over from the Microsoft store. So you can use DTS headphone X on your gaming PC and Xbox. Oh yea!
Also for PCs, if you have the option of using optical out to a DAC with optical in, then use that instead of a usb connection or onboard audio out. The sound stage and sound separation is far better from my experience, especially setting DTS headphone to spacious.
why would you turn off your dts option to see hot a dts video is? confused
Works great on the arctis 9x in cod Cold War. So worth it.

What exactly are your dts Settings?
@@dinviesel8286 i set the headphones to “flat” or the first EQ preset to the headphones and let DTS do the rest. I used the arctis pro wireless Preset in the DTS settings. It works great

The dts option doesnt appear when clicking the speaker icon on the windows tray. What do i need to do?
The sound design reminds me of Avengers: Endgame.

Does that mean that you will only benefit of you Play specific games and the rest will be Stereo as usual? Is there is list with upcoming supported games somewhere? What about halo infinite gotta 5, cyberpunk etc? And will there be more older games included later?

I use Dolby Atmos with my BlackShark V2 X Pro.
Any chance you know why my Xbox party chat refuses to work when I use dts unbound? I can tak with in game chat but if I use Xbox party chat it doesn’t work. Its very frustrating. I’m using Arctic 9x

When I press apply and then ok it doesnt save, it automatically puts the spatial sound to off again

Same happened to me. I did what I always do with technical issues. Restarted the console and than it worked.
Is this only for headphones? i ask this Question because i am Considering connecting my Pc to my Denon Avr the Avr is already setup for 7.1 and my motherboard the asus X570 plus wifi Tuf Gaming says that it supports DTS Custom and the Denon Avr supports these Formats:
DTS, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS 96/24, DTS Neo:6, Dolby Digital Surround EX so i am wondering what one of these particular formats would offer the Best Sound Quality for me any info would be appreciated thanks

hey , newbie here , i got Steelseries Arctis 7+ , its have a dts headphone x v2.0 thing , the box also show 7.1 surround sound thing , i installed the GG app and i have access to the Sonar Early Access stuff also got firmware update for my Arctis 7+. So in the Sonar app there is option called surround sound (create virtual 7.1 feeling in stereo format) but do i need enable that in the app ? or this Arctis 7+ automatic use the 7.1 surround ? Or the headset is automatic use the DTS Headphone X v2.0 ? or I need enable that somewhere ? i not see that option in the app. I try enable in the Sonar app the surround sound but i got a weird sound in Doom Eternal so i turn off , not check other games with that option. Another question in the Quake Champions game there is audio settings ( stereo , 5.1 and 7.1 and another option HRTF) what is the best option or what i need to select ? do i need to select 7.1 and HRTF too ? sry for the lots of question LOL i just dont know this Arctis 7+ use automatic the DTS Headphone X v2.0 or i need enable somewhere ?

what is it called? Do you have a link?
It's inside dts unbound app, pretty sure it does nothing Exept when a movie or game is playing and has that that dts feature built in. I can't choose that encoder as spatial sound like i can with others.

Yes, works the same way any other virtual surround would. But you won't get the insane sound like games that are DTS Unbound optimized

Well, you only have two ears that are situated on sides, how do you locate the directional source by hearing if it's from above down below or far off? Just like you can see in 3d with two eyes you can listen to 3d audio with two ears. It is done with lifelike balancing of various auditory factors like distancing of source or L-R volume levels etc. In games the sound is processed seperately for most audio sources and each source has a different effect on the balance to the ears. Simple thing, if you have more volume on the left, you tend to audio locate the source on your left. The audio sources from the top and bottom are tricky because along with the volume, they have to add an obstruction that is your head. Inorder to imitate it, simply closse your eyes and snap your fingers and move them around. Also the brain often tricks you with your senses. One nastly helluvy thing forcing my fingers to write this reply.

@@falsigo dont confuse the listener with the sound source. The fact that us humans have the abilty to locate sound in space ("3D" as you said) does not mean every sound source is as rich (e.g. Music from a single speaker system - mono. You know where the speaker is in the room with your 3D hearing but you still listen to mono).

A lot of headset manufactures include Dolby or DTS with the headphones. They market the headphones as virtual 7.1 gaming (vs. real 7.1 that costs a small fortune) but, they are just stereo headphones with branded (maybe calibrated) versions of the $14.99US Dolby or DTS Windows store apps. Waiting for a Steelseries 7 headset to ship lol.

DTS is the worst software I have ever used. The absolute worst. I'd try to uninstall my driver and software to update them. Or so just to clean up my install. And I couldn't for the life of me get DTS to completely remove from the board. ASUS TUF Gaming 570 plus. The way the DTS software acted. Makes this board and any other board Asus makes. That comes with DTS. In my opinion not worth the money. DTS trust me it the absolute worst. 3 settings within the app. For the trouble. This app makes absolutely no sense. Amd I'd never purchase another ASUS board with it.
