@@TiredofEarth This is not right. It has nothing to do with roids. Ronnie had an injury(i dont know exactly, between 1996-1998). And the doctor said he recommends him taking rest and not doing the upcoming olympia. Instead, he trained with that freaking injury for like 10 years. Plus as you mentioned with insane weights. He could have won the olympias and be able to walk if he would do the surgery or recovery and train with normal weights. I love Ronnie but it was kinda his fault.

@@notronex4349 Yeah you're mentioning his first injury and he's had so many serious ones now that kept coming after the first one. He trained with multiple different serious injuries for a long long time without treatment, and he would usually use extremely heavy weight and continue going to failure even with these problems. The problems would get worse and he would do it again next time and not learn. Some of the surgeries weren't done properly and he had more problems. His whole back is fused together today and he had close to 15 very serious surgeries. He admits to herniating every disc in his back in the worst way, along with other back issues too. This is what have now as a result of all that.

In 1996, Coleman had a brutal squatting routine that led him to dislocate a disk. He didn’t seek medical attention immediately, which would change his life forever. He suffered a very serious spinal problem and also severely injured his back, shoulder, hips, and neck due to heavy weightlifting. For example an extremely tall person who weighs a lot more is not in much more danger than a shorter person because the weight is proportioned to their body, at least not more dangerous because of weighing more than the shorter guy. A little bit more danger maybe because of his size, but the proportions of their size should make it very similar nonetheless. Maybe because at a really tall height your organs and other things are bigger. Is that what your're trying to say in terms of what it can be more dangerous? Amazing guy full of determination, but I don't recommend anyone train like him. He's said before that every single times he got done working legs his back would hurt for like 2 hours. The body is not made for all that heavy lifting. Over time, your body will shut down. I personally have to remember this myself. Those heavy squats will damage your hips and knees over the years. Even professional basketball players stated their knees are their major health issue. I met Ron a few times, and he's a couple of years older than me. I got into weight training at 23 years old and fell in love with working out. I wish I started at 15 years old. Because of how Ron looks now, it has been getting worse for him over the years. I have been lifting way less, and I want to look good at my age and not keep lifting heavy until I can't walk or stand up straight. I feel sorry for the guy. At 59 years old, it's only going to get worse.

I have seen and heard of all kinds of injuries and witnessed the long-term result of weight training...the good and bad. When people get over 40...they need to change their routines. I work out to stay in shape, look younger, maintain overall health, and look good without any clothes on (no homo). A goal that all men/women should strive for. People don't know the real pain that Ron and other people like him are going through. They are on constant pain pills and shots in the hip, back, and legs. This is their long-term reality for them. This guy I have known for years. Always want to beat everyone's highest in the gym. You know, the one that squats over 500 pounds, grunts, and looks around to ensure everyone admires him. I last saw him over a year ago. I ran into him at Walmart. He told me he broke his lower back. He was heavy squatting, and his back gave out, and the heavyweight pushed his backbones downward. He's walking around bent over. He was not able to workout again because of this injury.

Being in the marines and now having all those heavy lifts catching up a little on my lower back I realized there is no way I can continue to lift heavy unless I want to be messed up at 60. I stopped lifting a month and still have my muscle and six pack. I'll just still to more Manuel exercises and lift less moving forward. Plus my knees took enough pain from rucking 50+ pounds in the Corps don't think I want to end up like Shaq or any of the other greats who struggle to walk as fast as they want.

At only 50 you're body is as destroyed as his is? I'm very sorry to hear that if true. How did that end up happening? • @billj4525

Well he was the best bodybuilder, but it doesn't mean he practiced it properly, as most believe he could have had the same results without destroying his body like this, which is likely true. Ronnie was so far ahead of everyone in bodybuilding and physique, and he's not nearly as strategic and systematic as a lot of bodybuilders today. That's how I feel at least. Take a look at Kai Greene and how strategic and systematic his approach was and still is at building up certain muscles and doing certain things, and there are a lot of bodybuilders doing that these days. I could be wrong, but I don't believe Ronnie lifted or bodybuilded like that, yet his physique blows EVERYONES out of the water, to the point that he's so far ahead of his time that we may never see anything at his level again. Very sad to see where his today.
