oh nice vide.. that what i was looking forr!!!!! Well done mate!
Great video yet again. Id be curious if you could compare 3.18 as well. But also having e cores on, but using process lasso or similar tech to bind the game just to P cores in software, leaving E cores for OS stuff.
Now that 3.18 is a bit more widely available, would you be able to test it with the E Cores enabled? They said a few weeks ago that they fixed the E-Core stuttering issue in 3.18, but I tried the PTU last night and still got massive performance issues.
I will do a full 3.18 performance analysis once its on Live Servers
I appreciate the video, it feels professional and well put together. Your computer is weird though, it's like the whole thing is upside down. I see that you've already answered for that in the comments though. I'm going to go watch the video on RAM now, thanks.
Very interesting video. Love that you managed to push GPU to fullest and showed weaknesses of 4090. Stunning quality, looking forward to the next one :)
Idk if its a 4090 weakness, more like the Game's weakness given it's poor optimization, thankfully tho they've been slowly ramping up performance gains slowly but surely!
Hoping Vulkan being introduced could help the game out even more!
By having the pump as the highest point in the loop of the AIO you ensure that any air-bubbles get stuck there, significantly reducing the pumps lifespan. But since you can afford a 4090 I'm guessing having to buy a new AIO is not a concern :)
Will replace with custom water cooling soon
Or buying a new 4090 is Not a concerns either IT seems ...
@@gamedaytoday1 Just put your PC upside down and you are fine lol
@@larsbaer3508 u mean right side up lol
240fps on SC? I know this is a bait and a lie.
240 easy in space watch to the end
You need to do this with 3.18 on gen12, its not optimized yet but its better in the spots your testing. The biggest bottleneck in 3.17 in citys is the render thread that chokes down completely.
will do
Here: ruclips.net/video/-4UJ1RyqvMA/видео.html
I have a similar setup, (13900k & 4090, MAG Z790 Mobo) and even with processlasso to disable E Cores I am getting significantly worse performance at 1440p - one point I used to compare was the scene at 3:25 in Area18; where my machine was only getting 40-45 FPS versus the 70 shown in your test.
Any ideas what could be causing thia? System benched fine and is performing as expected in other regards...
Could be your Ram speeds, what are they set at?
@@gamedaytoday1 2 x 16 GB DDR5-6000, set at XMP for on-box speed
@@reeiiid Stay tuned, will release a DDR5 video soon
@@gamedaytoday1 assume the i9 13900k is more ram dependant than the 7800X3D?
Cool test bro
Thanks 👍
Isn't that a bad placement for the radiator? The air from bubbles will get stuck inside the CPU block. Air goes to the highest point.
It is not as bad as you think but yes, don't do what I do, this will be replaced with a custom loop soon
is it side up down day somthin thoe cause that pc upside down
is having 4 8gb single rank sticks the fastest we can go for ddr4?
or would 2 16gb dual rank be faster? or some other config?
4 8GB Single Rank equals dual rank
But
2 16GB Dual Rank can normally clock 100MHz to 200Mhz (4200Mhz-4400Mhz) higher so you are better off going with this option. as any performance benefits comes from the extra frequency.
@@gamedaytoday1 ah gotcha, thanks
U got another sub btw, not a lot of reviewers with tuned memory.
@@branchprediction9923 If you go with a dual dim motherboard your are more likely to get higher frequency too, the only one for DDR4 is: Gigabyte Z690I AORUS ULTRA ITX Motherboard for Intel LGA1700 CPUs
Your are more likely to hit 4300+ with the combo
isn't it generally bad to place your airflow downwards since it is against the natural air flow?
The fans are pushing air into the radiator
@@gamedaytoday1 i mean radiator is below which pushes the air downwards?
@@simpleukyo3894 Its pushing the air upwards into the case
@@gamedaytoday1 ohhh ok, i think im getting confused by the gpu. is the gpu pshing into the heatsinks or is it pulling?

13900k RTX4090 and then cheaps out on DDR4 😅bro. I did my 12900k build correct with DDR5 last year. Even my new laptop has ddr5. Upgrade the motherboard and ram. We in 2023. DDR5 is getting very affordable.
When is Star Citizen coming out?
I wonder if the AMD builds getting 80-90 fps is a difference in how it is benchmarked or if it is memory speed.
Next video is on 5800X3D tuned, stay subscribed so you don't miss it
It's the 3d vcache.
Some scenes love the extra cache size.
Do a benchmark for other GPUs like 4080 and 4070Ti when 3.18 hits....and after that 4.0.
I hear they are constantly optimizing the renderer and the new Vulkan rendering pipeline will be implemented at some point in the near future.
I think that SQ42 will NOT be released until Vulkan is fully implemented. Since it is a single player game, if they release it in its current state, I would expect a similar backlash to Cyberpunk's release, as the only people who will be able to play it are those with high-end cards. If CIG wants more players, they will have to make sure that the RTX 3060s get at least 60FPS at 1080p (pure raster) and add any of the technologies such as FSR and/or DLSS.
Once we grow I'll include more GPUs, best way to support the channel content is to subscribe
I get 60fps fine on my 3060, did you check the processing settings and change it to priority? Also, how much ram do you have?
@@jasonpressler7111 I got 64 GB DDR5, with 12900k. However I'm not currently playing SC. I havent played it since Xmas 2021. I might jump back in when patch 4.0 releases to Live public PU.
You explainer for Orison is dead wrong, you are greatly held back by the CPU there as the entity count there and especially on Cloudview is well over 130k!
Preferably I would have liked to see the 13900k utilizing ddr5 since raptor lake actually benefits from ddr5 unlike Alder lake cpus which see very minute improvements. Ddr5 can yield very beefy fps improvements in certain games that like powerful memory from what I see in benchmarks. Nonetheless this system far outperforms my 5600x 3070 pc on this game. Lmao
I Will get DDR 5 this month
@@gamedaytoday1 I have 4x16 fury 6000 for sale if you want xD
@@vhc8383 Is it Hynix A-die?
good vid, just wanted to mention you're handicapping your AIO by having the radiator at the bottom, it's the worst orientation for it as all the air in the loop travels to the highest point which would be your pump/cpu block meaning at best it wont be as effective in cooling and at worst it can straight up break your pump. Sry if someone else has already said this just caught my eye at the beginning
No worries got like 12 comments on it
I heard that this game works better on AMD Ryzen CPU's, is that true?
Are you are referring to this video of the 7700x: ruclips.net/video/UpjLgvxYAmY/видео.html ?
Then the 13900K Overclocked and Tuned Ram is faster by 20%
But the 7700x did not use tune Ram so it is not comparing apples to apples.
The 13900K with non tune ram performed the same as the 7700x with non tuned ram in my test at higher settings too.
A 7700x with tuned Ram could most likely get 20% to 30% better performance teeing or beating the the tuned 13900k set up. Subscribe and find out.
@@gamedaytoday1 so basically getting the Intel one is just plain stupid. Since AMD gives 5years of drop in upgrades. Iike... In a few months x3d will come too...
bro no offence but your aio is mounted in the worst spot possible. The Pump-block always has to be at the lowest point in your case. In this config you most likeley trap air bubbles in there wich might cauce worse cooling performance. i get the point why you build your pc up side down but flipping it around on top would solfe the problem
No offence taken, will replace with custom water cooling soon
8000mhz ddr5 would probably get another 10-15% fps
We will find out soon
What's the motherboard of the PC?
MSI MAG Z690 TOMAHAWK
sorry but u are not suppose to put clouds on very high, cause thats literally throwing away fps
I would love to see a review from you using an RX 7900 XTX to see how it compares with the 4090.
Just send the RX 7900 XTX to me and I'll do it
Jokes aside one day
Best cpu in Star Citizen are thé 5800x3D and thé upcoming 3Dv cache cpus from 7000 séries, you sée a Big différence really.
i play a lot this game and im really to Can run it in ultrawide with my 6900xt and my ryzen 5 3600 at average 60fps, this game IS not well optimized but this year Comes thé gen12 and vulkan engine ingame it will change some performance problems for a lot of citizen players
5800X3D plug and play is not better than the 13900K fully tuned which is what I used to benchmark. I will tune the 5800X3D in a future video and see which fully Tuned system is better. Subscribe so you don't miss it
For RAM it's not MHZ. It's Megatransfers per second (= MT/s). People always get this wrong. For DDR Ram at 3600 MT/s we have 1800 MHz at the Double Data Rate (DDR) resulting in the 3600 MT/s. Please consider this in future, as it's a misconception in many videos.
I know this very well but every, ram manufacture, motherboard manufature and CPU manufacture advertise and market their specs in MHz. I am not in the business of re-educating and causing confusion when everyone properly understand the MHz term. Since every BIOS setting display, RAM Spec and CPU Spec displays it in MHz. Why do you think it is a good idea to mention MT/s, what are the benefits?
@@gamedaytoday1 You are probably right that the benefits of using the right term for memory speed are relatively low since most people use the "technical" wrong one anyway. It's interesting to see that some RAM manufacturers follow the same misconception as well. G.Skill uses MTs, while Corsair uses MHz. Sometimes feels similar to people from Europe and the US talk to each other one with metrics and the other with imperial units. Both are right somehow. :)
now its time to have 13900ks watercooled / 4090 OCed with EKWB Waterblock // 7600 MHZ DDR5 😀
I would have had that If I did not get all the AMD stuff in my other videos
13900kf with ddr4 why
wooowowowowowowowowoowow
You destroy the punp in This AiO! the pump shoudnt be the top of instalation, because free air bubles cumulate there and kill the pump.
why tf have you put your whole pc upside down
Its not upside down, its inverted and its the only way to get the pc facing the desk, also it will be upgraded with full custom water loop soon
@@gamedaytoday1 nah np but it really just looks like everythings upside down :p
looks like a cpu bound situation.
Heh, all that talking would be exhausting, just like the case fans.

*TEN YEARS...*
I bought the game ten years ago. Honestly got my money's worth though just out of the sheer interest in it. I paid $35USD and that includes the multi-player shooter part... the game graphics engine overhaul isn't done yet AFAIK. So game won't even be near the final state for a few more years.
sir, your pc is upside down
Dont forget its an alfa , not optimized at all
240fps In QT.................on a 120Hz monitor..........
Oh no too bad they will never make 240Hz OLED 4K monitors, such a waste
Bad choice of CPU. If you want to max out FPS in Star Citizen, at least until proper GPU support will be implemented, you need as much cache as possible, in which case AMD will be more desired. Once 7800X3D will be available to buy, then it will be the top, as for now even a 5800X3D trounces the "best" Intel CPU.
The limit is just GPUs being weak...
The gas giant is extremely hard to render for example.
your rad is upside down >.>
Sir, it is inverted.
Jesus Star Citizen is still such a pathetic mess of a game after 11 years. Sub 60fps 1% lows in 1080p with the best hardware on the market and they can't even fit 100 people on 1 server. No way does this ever become a functional MMO
Yes. I think realistically, the game will be ready in next 6 years... so basically 2030.. wow
Their engine is complete garbage when it comes to all aspects of optimization.... Or alternatively they don't know how to use the tools properly.
Not quite on either account. They simply have not attempted much in the way of optimizations with the gen12 renderer yet. It is absolutely discussed openly in the Spectrum forums. They did some minor tweaks towards the end of last year that made a noticeable difference in performance, and will be doing so incrementally with future patches.
The 4090 is as big as a breeze block.
youtube.com/@tenpoundfortytwo tested the 7700x in Star citizen. It was a surprising result, it may show how important DDR5 is.
Indeed surprising, the problem with his test is that he is running 3600 mhz ram on the intel platform, if you see my ram video the intel platform you can get another 25% performance uplift with 4100mhz. But yeah testing ddr5 will be interesting
