    Thanks for the video. Saved over $250.00 installing the actuator myself.

    Thank you for the video. Never done one of these and your video was super easy to follow. Just replaced mine (the exact one you replaced and for the exact same reason) and it is working great.

    Thank you so much for your great video, it assisted us with our Door Latch Actuator Replacement for our F150 Gen 1 Raptor! Appreciate the Video Help!
    The Replacement Part (937-673) costed us about $120 in WA State if anyone is wondering! O'Reilly's had it in stock for us to grab and go quickly :)

    You must be gentler than I am. I could not get the rod out of the lock cylinder without breaking that clip. Off to the junkyard.

  • @joelovitt2900

    That's fine if you can open the door. Mine won't open at all and it's the rear driver side door. Also the interior lights stay on because the sensors think the doors are open

    That was fine, but my door won’t open at all, from either handle. I need to know how to get to the door latch and open the door when it won’t open with either mechanism. I believe the latch is stuck engaged at the striker.

    I’m in desperate need of some help! I have a 2012 f150 crew cab and the back passenger door won’t open….from the inside or the outside…. I’ve removed the interior door panel and have access to the door latch actuator but it is stuck in the locked position. Your help would be greatly appreciated!! If I can get the door open then I can change the latch/actuator assembly. Thank you so much!!

      I've had a couple like that , I had to break actuator apart , I think I used wire pliers , reached inside door and started breaking the plastic apart off door latch , all the inside pieces of the latch fell out and door opened

    Question for you . I have the same exact problem with my driver door. How much would it cost me to have fixed?

    • @heartlandmechanic
      @heartlandmechanic  3 года назад +5

      I can't speak for other shop's but here at my shop would cost $80.00 for part and $60.00 for labor = $140.00 total . ( using ford OEM part at my cost , unlike most shops i never mark up parts , customer pay's what i pay ) . hope this helps .

    I have the same problem with my 2018 F150 Platinum. You all know how expensive this truck was. So far, I’ve had to repair the sunroof, had to replace the cam chain tensioner and phaser, now this frozen door nonsense, and the BIGGEST problem….now a failing transmission (10R80 10-speed trash). A replacement tranny will cost about $7,500 with labor. I had a Tundra prior to this F150 and have regretted buying the Ford since nearly day 1. The worst part is that I knew Ford’s were garbage, but I bought it foolishly thinking they may have improved over the years. I will NEVER buy another Ford and will never let anyone in my house buy one! Done! Totally done! I won’t even accept a Ford as a rental!

    What happens if it doesn't open from the inside or outside? I cant even get the door panel off because its stuck shut. FYI i have a 2010 ford f150 crew cab and its my rear passenger side door.

    • @heartlandmechanic
      @heartlandmechanic  2 года назад +2

      It's a pain to do , But you should be able to get door panel off with the door closed . Once you get the panel off find the latch and manually operate latch levers . Ever once and awhile I will get one that will not free up no matter what I do and I end up having to cut latch apart use a die grinder . ( Also spray latch down with brake cleaner , you may get a little more travel from levers with all the dirt and gunk cleaned out )

      @JoseGonzalez-bb5nd 2 года назад +2

      @@heartlandmechanic thank you for your response I will try it again. I was able to pop of the top half of the panel b4 but couldn't get the entire thing off due to the two screws on the bottom being blocked by the floor. Ill try the brake cleaner 🤞

    • @JoseGonzalez-bb5nd

      @@joelovitt2900 no luck. Its just stuck 😔 I read somewhere that it could have been due to a loose strike plate where the door latches to or could be the entire locking mechanism is just done for😔 I didn't want to pay for ford to figure it out but If i want to use that door I just might have to
