    I can’t thank you enough for this video. Sadly, you were sold out of the latch and I ended up buying it locally. This said, the mechanic in this video is amazing. As a teacher, I was impressed by his ability to clear explain not only his steps but the reasons behind them, giving the viewer a sense of the bigger picture before completing each step. Brilliant teaching.

    Just did this exact replacement on my 2013 F150. Same door, etc. This video was awesome to help me see what I was getting into before I started removing panels, etc. I had my laptop next to me and did the step by step per the video. Only difference is I didn't see the need for and didn't remove the door latch cable and plug. I simply supported the door panel to the side. It saved a couple of steps. Anyway, super Thanks for your video!!! Great job!! You are serving well all the DIY's out here in reality land. Also...saved me $200 vs. taking it to the local dealer.

    You produced a 1st rate educational, video that was extremely well thought out, well explained and user friendly! From what I learned on the video I was able to do the same repair on my F150 Lariat Crew Cab truck. The only problem I experienced during my repair job which was not covered in the video was the final step of aligning and installing the bottom two panel screws securing the door panel to the door. I couldn't get the holes to align. Using a skinny ice pick tool from the pack of four mini O-ring picks I purchased at Harbor Freight for the job (cost $1.99 before tax) I was finally able to align the holes in the panel with the threaded holes in the door. It was tricky but doable! Thanks so much for this amazing aide!

    Bro you did such an amazing job in this video. Your approach to the project told me that you hadn’t done it before. But your attention to detail, talking yourself thru the disassembly and familiarizing yourself with each component gave me such a huge sense of confidence. You left no stone unturned with regards to this being an exhaustive tutorial on how to do this repair. You took into account points where the camera may not be able to follow you and you were extensive in your explanations while demonstrating with the components. Bravo! Now I’m going to do mine bc of your video 😎

      I would consider that the wiring between the door and cab is in bad shape. There are YT vids on it and looks to be really bad on some trucks. Most likely you need to repair that wiring.

    • @TimHeagarty
      @TimHeagarty 4 года назад

      Check the wiring between the door jamb and the door. This is a common area for broken wires which will cause the door ajar warning. Look inside the accordion tube and unwrap the wiring bundle to be sure none have been crimped or broken.

    • @adamplummer2190
      @adamplummer2190 3 года назад

      If this started right after you put in the new latch, then you most likely have a bad latch or damaged the plug when you plugged it in (assuming the electric lock works which indicates it's plugged in)

  • @edgarvaca9238

      So I have this same issue. It started by the door not locking/unlocking reliably. It then got to where it didn't lock/unlock at all. The last is the door, even when manually unlocked, can't be opened from the inside! Obviously this is an issue in an emergency. Opens fine from outside though.

    • @adamplummer2190
      @adamplummer2190 3 года назад

      @@asmythe943 your child lock is engaged, it's the small hole you see with the label in the video. That disables the inside handle. As far as the lock itself, if all other doors lock then it's likely a bad latch. However, it's possible it's a wire in the door jam or elsewhere.

      You are screwed. You need to access the actuator to get the door open. Have you tried manually unlocking it then opening it from outside? If the child locks on and it doesn't unlock electrically it'll be jammed up.
