They're my fave squat variation, honestly, but I get such bad forearm bruising and soreness even when using some type of padding. Maybe need to go with a full on squat pad for the elbow. Any tips?
I know this doesn’t have to do with this series, but do you think you could ever do a video like Brain Alsruhe did where you go over what your strength/physique looked like from when you started training to now? I think it’d be cool to see the culmination all those years of training.
Glad to see I'm on the right path for my strongman journey. Just gotta incorporate sled work. I converted and old truck tire into a sled, ran an eye bolt through it and filled it with 40lbs worth of plates. Weighs about 80lbs, feel like 800 due to the friction of rubber on the road. Gonna add those in as finishers.
bodybuilder legend bill pettis had an insane diet in his peak years Meal 1 - 20 eggs (scrambled), 3 steak, 100 g brown rice and 1 litre of milk Meal 2 - 200 grams oatmeal, 1 glass of fruit smoothie (5 apple and 5 banana in blender) Meal 3 - 20 eggs (omelette with mushrooms, bell pepper and alot of grated cheese) and 1 litres of milk Meal 4 - 3 chicken breast, 3 slices cod, 100 g white rice and alot of vegetables (use soy sauce) Meal 5 - 5 slices toast (with roastbeef) 10 slices bacon and 1 litre of milk
i don't know if it was intentional but the timing with what happened to JF Carron at the Arnold is interesting. As always thanks for the valuable info, i plan to put this to good use as soon as i make the switch to the next training cycle!!!
I'm just starting out, I can do maybe 3 sets of 10 reps of body squats. Will my knees have less pain when I gain strength? In between sets sometimes ill do 10 leg calve raises. To some that is probably your warm up before doing weighted squats but for me is there a warm up for my knees? Any tips appreciated.
Just keep at it till things get easier and there's no pain. Goblet squats are a great way to get used to additional weight gradually. Not sure about knee warm up. You can take a look at kneesovertoesguy. He covers knees a lot. If you're wanting better mobility, look into some calisthenics.
I was training for strongman competition but I hurt my back twice, once at 17 and about a month and a half ago. I hurt my back in wrestling, so I'm not going to compete anymore, I don't wanna hurt myself anymore than I have. I will continue to utilize strongman in my routine, I'm just worried about my health later on in life.
Doing Zercher squats at the moment and shocked at how bigger and stronger my upper back is

@DCJayhawk57 I usually just wear a long sleeve shirt and that seems to solve it
@@DCJayhawk57 thick neoprene elbow sleeves.
Love the sled work. Been doing a lot more of that lately and it really gets good cardio on top of the strength training & muscle exhaustion.

Love the strongman specific series

The pin Front Squat it is!! My go-to exercise on my Deadlift/Pull day!
I would argue you can throw sled work under the unilateral category as well.
And backward sled drags will get you a quad pump like nothing else.
Another great video. Thanks.
Bulgarian split squats just crush me at the lightest weight
Great series Joe!
Squats, suitcase marches and zerchers 👌
Throwing them Crocs in sport mode!! Nice!!
Thanks Coach Joey, great choices & good info....making lifters smarter day-by-day !
WILD UNCLE NICK

I am doing the zercher squats at the moment and I really love them, why do they suck?
I've learned to like split squats.
Yo what are those BLOCKS of quads ? like wtf bro , great work
Good stuff👍👍👍
If you crushed gripped a keg to squat, would it be a goblet squat ? 🙃🙃

@@broda769 Right on, thanks.
I don't think I have hated and agreed with a list of exercises more.
Those are all killer leg exercises. But the one thing you forgot for growth…PB&Js son!!!!
Coach Joe!
I just stick to front squats and leg press
Bad timing Joey hahaha
Yeeeeeehaaawww

Like number 666 haha
This video will not include reverse Nordic curls lol
Train the events. Americans spend too much time doing assistance work. Throw in some front squats. That's enough. All that other s*** is useless.
Steroids. Steroids is how you get strongman legs.
