  • Hey guys in this video I revisit the results from doing my grip training and rice bucket workouts for almost 1 year. The results did shock be a bit on the gains I experienced but there are some nuances I talk about in the video. If you are looking to increase your grip, become a better arm wrestler, reduce your elbow tendonitis, the rice bucket will help with all of that! Thanks for watching.

Do you think any growth would come from the rice alone. I think what you are saying is something like "Train your grip directly to the point that you need something to help with recovery, then use the rice bucket for recovery" Do you think that aligns with what you experienced?

Based. My dad was an iron worker for 25+ years and although my palms are wider than his, the thickness of his palms and fingers are just out of this world. My grandfather was also an iron worker for 30 years and had even bigger paws, just disgustingly thick hands. One of my father's friends is a tank of a man, Frank. He's about 5'11 but he is six feet wide I swear to god. No neck, huge head, insane shoulder and hip span, and talk about sausage fingers! The guy has garbage can lids for hands, it makes NO sense. His daughter is built the same, she's 6' and 240lbs, she throws shotput and hammer. She's scary and I think her hands are bigger than mine.

Eyy, I ended up here because I've looked up rice bucket stuff recently.
I can share my anecdote about it. I injured my hand pretty bad in the spring, by mid summer I could barely even sleep and gripping ANYTHING was incredibly painful. I started doing rice bucket training two weeks before my scheduled physical therapy because I was in so much pain all the time. By the time I got there, my grip strength in my dominant hand which was injured was only 74lbs, and my off hand was 124lbs. They gave me an "optimistic" goal of 90lbs by the end of my therapy, and gave me the okay to keep doing the rice bucket training I'd been doing. I had 3 sessions of therapy before my goal time and I had gotten back to 110lbs in my injured hand and had very little pain. All of this was over the course of less than a month (As of this post, 5 days away from a month on rice bucket training) and now I'm fully recovered, my grip strength's at about 115 so it's almost back to normal. I had been in HORRIBLE pain for 3 or 4 months leading up to it, and it helped with that.
All of that said,my forearms are also massive now but that's probably only a thing because I don't normally work my forearms. If I had already developed those muscles I doubt it would have been enough resistance to cause that. I didn't notice a hand size increase but it's only been a month. I also wash with cold water and no soap after and then moisturize.

    • @TheIronDuke9

@@edit_music788 My hands don't hurt anymore, well a tiny bit some times. I switched to every 2 to 3 days instead of daily last month. My forearms have not really grown in size since month 2 and my hands are almost the same as always, with my palms being slightly larger. My nails are great.
My grip strength has improved but I do not know by how much.
I think with supplemental lifting it wouldn't be hard to grow forearms further than I did. Good luck!

This reminds me of a time long ago when pre-teen me thought it would be a good idea to trace my D onto some paper using the same technique. I traced three different "stages" on three different sheets of paper and labeled them accordingly: "Slump," "Medium," and "Hard". I admired my artwork and then stored them under my mattress for future research purposes. A couple of years later, my Dad and my best friend Ben were helping me move my bed. Dad found the forgotten drawings under the mattress. He held the drawings up and examined them with Ben, who was laughing hysterically at this point while I stood there aghast. They both snickered and made fun of me for a couple of minutes, and then it was finally over. Good times.

Did the fingers actually get thicker as well? I thought they couldn’t, only forearms and maybe the wrist can get bigger a bit

Each of your fingers don't contain any muscle. All the muscles that control finger motion are located in the hand and forearm.

  • @goforbroke2

I think that growth is mainly due to prioritising grip and hand training along with the gear use. You ever notice some of the hand thickness on IFBB Pro’s before? I’ve seen a handful of them with hand meat lol that extends 1”-2” beyond their pinky. Their palm hand meat will hang over the edge of their pinky. That said those dudes take enough gear to supply an NFL football team and I know you weren’t doing that to your body.

Will this work well enough in a bucket smaller than 5gal, so long as one's spread-out hand fits within the bucket's diameter, or do we need more wiggle room than that?
