  • So I have been getting this question a lot. How can I build my legs if i can't squat. You might not be able to squat for many reasons. Let me be the first person to tell you that will not be an issue with this no squat leg workout. I did this leg workout last week and I was sore for 10 days. Give this crazy no squat leg workout a try and let me know how sore you got the next day.

This was one where I was genuinely sad. Most of the time you feel something for these deaths but this one hit me a bit different. I feel for his wife and his kids. Really sucks. I know what it’s like to grow up without a dad and so did John and it was his greatest fear. And it happened. It actually made me reflect on my own “bodybuilding choices” and really consider what I put in my body because my greatest fear is also leaving my little boy without his dad and best friend.

I have always done legs once a week with a heavy barbell squats day and struggled to make them grow. I now try my best to hit legs twice a week one day being my traditional barbell squat day and the other using this method/workout. Its been about a month now of doing this consistently and I can already see amazing results. Between the added volume and pre-exhaustion this routine offers it has been making a huge difference. Because of shoulder injuries, scar tissue and frozen shoulders I havent been able to squat for over 10 years...Almost all was lost until I read some of Trevor Smith's old Beyond Failure training routine articles.Pre exhaust with isolation then pick either leg press or hack squats...Kept all the size on my quads after using this routine and dumping squats.Like Trevor I pre exhaust all muscle groups before compound exercises..If the muscle is taken to failure (or beyond) it doesnt matter if you use machines or free weights.

This is a man of all man , John was a big influence in my life . At 60 years old and half of my back removed and total left hip replacement .I wanted to get back into body building .I looked up many different builders .I found Mr meadows and kept watching his videos. .I watched other guys but John Neadows is the man I chose because he is a man for the people and knot about himself as I had found in many others .

Great tips as always, but I won't use it because I love heavy squats! Squats, hack squats, leg presses and RDLs are all what I need 😁.

this changed my outlook on legs as i have some lower back issues. i used to do 315 for 5 and last year 275 for 16 or 17 cant remember, but im backing off that type of squatting for now as I keep having issues. thank you John, i love this workout. also am shooting you a message about a coffee collaboration soon.

New favorite leg workout- short but still effective volume, extreme intensity without being so long that it’s mentally exhausting, and not an iota of back pain- I threw some hip thrusts and abductor/adductor work in too and was still done in an hour.
If you see this John, would you recommend doing some additional lower back training like hypers in to compensate for the lost stimulus from having to sacrifice squats and deads as someone with chronic back issues?
