Thank you for your calming voice and easy to follow stretches. I am 3 years post-brain tumor removal and went from fit to fatigued and flabby. Starting from scratch and you are the first fitness program I find I will stick with. Three weeks now!
A massive congrats on hitting 3 weeks, Judi! I truly hope you continue to enjoy my workouts, and that over time you'll be able to progress through the levels. Just so you know, I also started a second channel for chair workouts a while back. I'll add the link for you so you'll have more options. youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts I look forward to reading about your progress in the future (if you wish to share it!).
This is the first time I have done any exercises that I could actually follow and complete I have Arthritis in my legs knees arms shoulder neck and back but i did manage to do these exercises yes I had to pause for a few mins but I did the full session and must say i can feel my muscles reacting . thank you so much
I am SO glad to have you here, Maxine! I purposely create the gentle workouts to be exactly that...gentle. I want them to be doable, while still being very effective. Just so you know, I create gentle, beginner and intermediate levels. You can find all of my gentle workouts categorized in the playlists and also on my website (www.improvedhealthforseniors.com).
Thanks Jules. This was perfect after waking up all achy. It felt so nice to stretch and strengthen In a chair. Be well and thanks for all your wonderful videos - Claudia
This workout is good for all Seniors who are having mobility issues as well and you can ramp it up with weights if you wish. I have a family history of dementia and I am so pleased to see you address this issue as well as Alzheimer's. Your working with seniors is definitely a plus for all of us that do your videos. Have a great day. Loved this video❤
I love this video. I have been following Improved Health videos for awhile (85 years old) and am challenged with many things. This video will be my go to now, along with some Core Videos. It is versatile and covers many areas. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Gloria! Have you seen my new channel dedicated to chair workouts? I'll add the link for you in case you haven't seen it. youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts
AMAZING!!! I am thrilled to read that she is using my videos and enjoying them. Thank you so much for letting me know. Just in case you haven't my other channel, I'll add it here: youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts My new channel also have 3 levels (gentle, beginner and intermediate) so just head to the 'gentle level' workouts for your mom if she liked this one.
Dear Jules, I am sorry that I forgot to mention in my last posting that my knee problem was definitely not the result of one of your exercises. It happened while I was out walking and tripped. In fact, your sitting exercises have helped my recovery. Thank you so much.
Aww, thank you for taking the time to clarify that, Bryan. From what you wrote in the last comment, I got the impression it wasn't from my workout but thank you for clarifying:) I appreciate that!
Thank you for letting me know that you're enjoying this one. In case I haven't shared my other channel with you, I'll include it here: youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts
I just found this post today....I have quite limited mobility due to knee, lower back and upper arms arthrttisand it was refreshing to find out out could actually do most of these exercises without groaning.
Thank you and welcome to my channel! Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) in both seated and standing workouts, and categorize them all into the playlists. Just look for 'playlists' on the main page and scroll down to where you see the seated options. I also started a second channel dedicated to chair workouts and will add the link for you here: youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts I now upload all new seated workouts to the new channel. Lastly, I upload all of the workouts from both channels to my website at www.improvedhealthforseniors.com I hope that helps and I hope you enjoy more of the workouts when you try them out.
It’s a great workout! I enjoyed it with the background of soft music for relaxing! I like your way helping us to think heavy thing to push up or pull down. It’s more easier to me rather than I have to think how to tighten the part of muscle. Thank you for giving time to get the weights. Again I like the springy legs movement helping to develop positive attitude. I like the stretching part as well. Thanks Jules🥰
Another fantastic video. You did it again. They say God sent I will say Jules sent. Due to my flare up I was itching to do something light and there you go. Absolutely loved it . Went for my knee and leg X-ray today. Hopefully will be doing your all other videos soon. Stay blessed Jules❤️
I should tell you I tweaked my knee getting into the community pool on the ladder. Oops. Little klutzy. Bicycling in the water is great but you first have to gently get in the water first.
I'm sorry to hear about your knee:( It is totally awkward getting into a pool...I can see how that could easily happen. I'm glad this gentle workout worked for you today. I wish you a quick recovery, Theresa.
Wow Jules!! Am so filled with admiration for your range of inclusivity...🙏🙏, Shall share this with the Nightingale s Home for elders.... Also will do it myself, maybe ramped up a bit, later in the evening....I know I'll benefit from it! Bless you...❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for sharing the video:) 💖 Exercise is super important for people with dementia but when they get to a certain stage, they can't plan it for themselves anymore so hopefully this will help to maintain some physical activity.
It’s a great workout! I enjoyed it with the background of soft music for relaxing! I like your way to describe thinking some heavy things to push up or pull down. For me, it’s more easier than just think how to tighten the part of muscle. Thank you for giving time to get weights. Again I like the springy legs movement helping to keep up the positive attitude. I like the stretching as well! Thanks Jules! 🥰
You are the best seated exercise instructor for Seniors i have watched. I work in an assisted living. Can you please leave out "For Dementia" so I am not insulting/upsetting anyone when we use this video in our assisted living?
Hi Lois, I really wanted to create a video for persons with dementia and if I take away the word 'dementia', the video likely won't pop up for people who are looking for an easy workout. I purposely didn't put 'dementia' in the picture for the reason you mentioned. Let me give it some thought...I'll see what I can come up with.
@@ImprovedHealth Thank you for your response. I did the 15 minute video with the seniors where I work and we all thought it was great. I told them I would look for other seated videos by you so we don't get bored. I watched part of the the Dementia video and didn't find it that much different. I try to vary the videos we watch but I'm almost afraid of putting the "Dementia" for fear of insulting them. Im not sure why it would be a different gentle seated exercise for seniors with, and seniors without. Might I suggest just calling it a gentle seated 20 minute workout for Seniors? This way we know it's different from the 15 minute video.
@@loisbarber7023 Hi Lois, I totally understand what you're saying. The reason why I put 'dementia' in the title is to capture the people that are looking for exercise workouts suitable for people with dementia. If they type in anything in a search engine about exercise and dementia, my hope is that my video will pop up for them. Once I take dementia out of the title, the algorithms from RUclips will no longer notice my video and it won't be seen. My hope is people who don't know about my channel will discover my channel through that video and then they will realize a lot of the gentle classes I offer are also suitable for those with dementia. I'll give more thought to it this weekend:)
Really liked this one! Little bit of everything - great overall workout! I'm even getting my husband interested in doing these. I noticed you have 200k subscribers now! Congrats on that! You're going to get a RUclips reward soon! 👏 Appreciate having your exercises for us to do! I've been sharing your channel with all my exercise friends and been following you for over a year. Thank you! 🤩
Thank you so much for sharing my channel, and for noticing that I hit 200,000 subscribers! As a YT creator, you get a plaque at 100,000 subscribers and then another one at 1 million so I have a ways to go before the 1 million...but I'll get there eventually.😉
I appreciate that you have some gentle workouts, as well as the more ramped up ones! Would you mind me asking what brand of sneakers you wear? I could use a new pair and yours look pretty comfortable. Can they be used for everyday activities as well? Thank you.
Thanks Lois, I'm glad to read that you like the variety. As for the shoes, I often buy Pumas...they are super comfortable, especially for indoor workouts. They don't have a ton of support or tread, though, so I wouldn't recommend them for big hikes or rainy or slippery days outside. They are great for regular outdoor use such as going shopping, etc. You can get great deals on them at the outlet malls (if you have any close by).
Hi Jules! About a month ago you sent me a link to your newer seated exercises and I loved them. But, after a couple of days, the link when clicked on, said it couldn't be found. How can I access those newer seated exercises? I've tried a couple of searches but they haven't shown up.

The exercises are excellent as is the instructor. The heavy beat on the background music is VERY disturbing. Could be it is unnecessary. Popular maybe, and still disturbing and unnecessary. Actually, the tempo is much tooooo fast for the pace of the exercises. Please reconsider. Thanks.
