Gentle Chair Exercises for Seniors to Improve Mobility, ROM and Flexibility with Chamber Music

  • This gentle chair exercise program is suitable for seniors or anyone who wants a gentle workout along with gentle chamber music. The talking is minimal, the movements are simple and the program is 30 minutes. We'll work on exercises to improve mobility, ROM (range of motion) and flexibility.

    Yesterday I was busy all day and kept having reasons/excuses for not exercising … finally decided to do ‘something’ before going to bed. I tuned in to spend 30 minutes with you. It was time well spent and I thank you! I think that this will be my new bedtime routine. 👍

    Jules, you saved me from myself. I thought I was too tired to exercise but when this popped up on my RUclips I decided to give it a try and got all of it done. I loved it. I will do this on other days when I feel too tired. The variety was wonderful and so was the pace. Thank you.

      I'm so glad that you decided to give this one a try. Seated workouts are great workouts. On days when you're tired, the gentle workouts are great for working on range of motion and flexibility which is really important to focus on as we age.     Thanks Jules, my back is still sore, so I was careful. I chose gentle chair to loosen up. Tenant meeting today, and they told us exercise class is starting May 8th. The teacher I believe is a licensed exercise therapist for arthritis. I’ll let you know how it is. Once my back is better will start back on the daily strength exercises. Mostly doing walking for now.

    Well Jules I just did this longer workout and it was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! I wasn't expecting the little cardio, but I did it all. The workout, music, and the saying posted at the end was great. I thank you for all of it !!!

    Sometimes in the mornings or during the day nothing a person wants to do, or can not.

    Good morning! My husband is using some of your gentle workouts for his mother. She's 87 and has very limited mobility, so this is perfect! Thanks Jules!! Oh, yes...music is VERY difficult! 😆 But comforting!! 😘😘

    This was encouraging. I was able to follow instructions well. I felt guided. I was able to stretch out some muscles that were a bit stiff. Thank you sooo much this was great.

    i just done this chair excuse before i get into bed.i haven't got a chair up stairs so i sat on the side of my bed with a foot stool really enjoyed doing it I'm hoping i might sleep a bit better.thank you 😀 xx

    Thank you so very much for this video. It is perfect for me. I am 83 years old and am trying to keep my body (such as it is) lol, moving. It has gotten harder to find an exercise video that combines everything and is easy enough for me to do without hurting myself. This one is perfect. You have made an old lady very happy.     Your chair exercises are the best of the best for lulling my friends into moving. Best of all, because you give so many choices for modification, they're willing to stick with you. The toes up and the knee lift to kick were new (to me) and fun. As always, there's a ginormous thank to you.

    I've begun to look forward to these seated workouts, also, Jules! Sitting with good posture, for 30 mins and going through the range of motions, can be quite challenging, I've realised. ' Find myself slumping like a sack of potatoes, after a few mins:) and have to pull myself straight.

      I’m not sure if that’s a good thing! Choosing the music for my chair workouts is always a challenge since I feel there is a range of ages that watch them. If I put music that has too much beat, I get comments saying it’s annoying. Always a challenge but I’ll keep trying to find music that I hope will be enjoyable.

      Thank you for your feedback. I work with some very frail seniors and will think about creating an easier one catered to nursing home residents.

    The music was to loud, it was distracting…but, I did enjoy the workout
