These instructional videos are a Blessing. It's practical, concise demonstrations that get to the point without being impersonal, detached narrative like those old science reels (though classics in their own right). You provide the attention to detail without getting into the weeds, understanding that many watching may have never worked on or with a particular part or performed the particular repair or replacement before. It's not flattery, just an appropriate description of what's observed with some appreciation. Well done (per usual) & TY.
Just to add in here, if hammering wood trim you can tap the end of the nail with a hammer to dull it slightly and the wood won’t split when the nail is hammered in.
FYI...Some of the new moldings have indention made in the seal identifying where to place your nail as you attach it to the garage . Also, you may consider caulking the newly installed seal as an additional measure to keep out the cold.
I have to install all these moldings since the previous home owner did not give two damns about their house. So far we had to gut majority of it, now I'm finally at the garages. Thanks for the informative video mate. 💪🙂👍
Thank you sir for this guide. I was just watching one of your car how-to videos for fun and now that I have something I need to fix, this was a pleasant surprise to come across this home improvement video. The RUclips dad we all need. 😂
Hi, i like the video you shown. I need that to seal my garage door. Winter is almost here. Where can I buy it. And what is the name of that? Im from Canada. Thank you
The top should overlap the sides because water can drip in if the top structure is at an angle. If the top piece overlaps the side, any water dripping in will simply drip down over the side piece. The way you’ve done it can cause water to drip in back of the pliable vinyl and into the garage.
Any suggestions for sealing a garage to keep the neighbors daily bonfire smoke out? Garage is constantly filling with smoke and I'm looking for a way to prevent it.
I use painted stainless steel trim nails. TIP: paint the seal before installing as the seal will shrink, trust me i know. Also remove from opposite side as shown here so you don't damage the garage board.
I did not even realize that our garage is missing this molding and seal. Thanks so much, my garage is going to get so much nicer.
👍😊

If worried about splitting the trim with a nail.... you can predrill a smaller diameter hole than the nail diameter.
this is youtube not smarttube
This is vinyl, it doesn't have a grain like wood so it shouldn't split. Predrilling is a good idea.

I love how you explain things, nice and slowly and precise. Thank you
👍😊
AWESOME VIDEO STRAIGHT TO THE POINT SIMPLE AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND THANKS YOU
👍😃
Why side seal in front of top seal? It would seem you'd want to top seal over the side to keep any rain or water from getting down under the seal.
good vid! you can calk the seams if you're tryna keep the creepy crawlers out as well!
Nice work. I'll have to do this soon
So light is coming bc my seal is bent out of shape? Or something more to push garage so no light/air leaks? Wind is fierce.

👍😂 You’re welcome! I’m glad I could help you.
Thanks, easy job. I sprayed the nail heads before installing so they won’t rust. Just stick them in a piece of cardboard and spray.
Is it the same procedure for single track rubber seals
what is name of that measuring tool you used? I want to buy one.
Thank you Sir! God bless you 😊

It’s called garage door top and side seal. I got it at Home Depot.
@@proclaimliberty2000 i was thinking about home depot also. I will go and check there.
Btw, I like your picture profile - the cross
Thank you.
We have stucco all around the door can it still be screwed in and is it paintable?
Thank you so much! This helped a lot!

You saved my day , thanks SR.

Great job🎉
Can in use wood screws ??? That’s what I have handy
Is there a way to keep the door from dripping on the cars when it rains ?
No
Very helpful!
Great vid
great vid.!
Thank you!
They don’t come in different widths. One size fits all. i have a gap now between the siding and the stripping. Atleast not at lowes or home depot
The do come in different widths, I had to buy one.
Thanks god bless!
👍😊
Why does the side seal go over the top seal? It seems backward.
I did it that way so when the garage door comes down it doesn’t catch the top of the side seal.
Sparky !
