What do you do if your side seal keeps ripping at the top? If i move it out anymore it will not cover enough

Did you buy new wood with the rubber seal pre-attached? All I can find is the rubber strips. Your material is how I want to do this job.

How did you glue the rubber seal to the new wood so nicely and regularity? What method and glue did you use?

    1) removing my old weather strips was a BEAR. Contractor had used some super gripping nails and it was very hard to pull the strip off. 2) I'd recommend using stainless steel nails. My old strips were attached with galvanized nails and they were pretty rusted. 3) Why not paint the wood before installing the new strips?

Replaced a new strip and now the door won’t go down completely. About 1/2” off. 03/04/23

Did you get your garage door to shut? I've seen the same issue. I'm guessing it's due to side strips being too close to the door causing too much friction. How did you fix the problem?

Its been awhile since I did that project, however, I pretty much exclusively stainless steel nails on exterior surfaces. I got fed up with galvanized nails rusting through after only a few years.

      @@HomeAdditionPlus why not use screws?

No need for screws. You're holding trim not trusses. Lol. And he mentioned 8d galvanized nails. I believe.

I used SS finishing nails on a Ryobi P326 nail gun. Worked great.
