Yeah I also wonder what she looks like too. The video said that she eats apples with peanut butter. I actually found out peanut butter is healthy. I never even looked into that until now
Pediatrician told us daughter would eat when ready and she did.if her parents couldn't fed her due to lack of food Some can't afford food.we put so much on food.
@@sabriaghee6153 Don’t ever let your kids enter a “survival mentality” by basically starving them. There are mental disorders both in poverty and abundance. This is why anxiety and depression still take hold regardless of economic background. Your child probably never had ARFID, if she did, then she would’ve starved herself (which is one of the basis of the diagnosis). There are kids who are built like Anorexics because they starve themselves and have to get hospital treatment before starting therapy. Don’t downplay a mental illness because you were “cured.”
@@MrsBax They already tried being strict and it got worse. She has stomach problems. If you’ve never had such issues, then stay quiet because it can hurt terribly and affect your mental health even for adults. Stress from being shamed would just cause more acid and make her condition worse. I’m glad she has great parents who understands this and actually helps her.
She probably developed the fear extremely young do to fear of the pain that happened every time she ate when she was little. She likely learned real quick a few safe foods that didn't cause her pain.
You are very right. This is an eating disorder called ARFID: Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. It was added as an eating disorder to the DSM-5 in 2013. It is a mental disorder. People who have this would literally starve themselves them put what they consider an unsafe food in their body. See this video to better understand what ARFID is: @4d-k
Or is she smart? She doesn't want to eat things that exacerbate her agida. Duh! There are grown adults who continue to eat crap that disagrees with them and then they whine about the pain they are in!
It could be but, in the video she said she ate grilled cheese sandwiches but such in a certain way so it's not the texture and with the peanut butter she just liked certain brand so IDK if that could be true
That little girl really is blessed to have parents who did this for her. So many kids with everything from anxiety or sensory disorders to acid reflux or paralyzed stomachs/intestines get severely abused because their parents just don’t care enough to take a second and wonder why or what if.
Ashes x2 parents also assume that problems like this are behavioral and not medical, missing things that could cause permanent illness or death like from an ignored #bleedingulcer that got so severe that the person dies.
Completely agreed as someone who had terrible reflux due to an anxiety disorder . My parents said I was over reacting and forced my to eat. Always yelling at me for something I can't control
The reporters are getting on my nerves. " pIcKy eAtEr " She's not picky. She's got a condition. She has health issues. She doesn't _want_ it to be that way. She _wants_ to eat like a normal kid. Please stop, it's very disrespectful!
@Utkarsh Gupta that isn't the case here, she has a phobia of food, and not a normal i only want to eat what i want type of kid like in the old days before doctors discovered different reasons for food refusal.
@Utkarsh Gupta I'm an adult and have the same problem she has. And I really wish I could eat like everyone else. So yeah, being called a "picky eater" is disrepectful and wrong.
I am the same way, i never "grow" out of it, i tried very hard But couldn't, I am 29 now and I am married. My husband is very understanding but sometimes we do struggle because he can't eat some things cuz the smell makes me instantly sick.
i feel bad, she’s literally aware of her problem this young and wants to get help. that’s so sad she recognizes what’s happening. i thought she was just being a brat about it for a second but she’s not!
@Sand Man She's not a brat, she's afraid of most food due to a psychological trauma. If she was a brat, she'd only eat stuff like pizza. But trying thing makes her physically sick.
She still doesn's look starving and not obese like many American people...May be it's smart not to eat what they eat? Her intuition tells her that this food is bad for you...
I agree, it always bugs tf out of me when people call it 'picky eating'. People like this little girl have a psychological disorder, 'picky eater' makes it seem like it's a choice they're making
@@kinsi966 Yeah it seems normal to you, but to us who have that phobia, it's not that easy. We just can't. And it's not a choice. I swear I'd give anything to eat normally and not have to bother about food.
Umm the one reporter who just starts eating his weird cookie crumbs in the fridge...?! Seemed so unprofessional. The point was highlighting his illness and she’s like OMG THIS LOOKS TASTY
This was our story. Our son wouldn't eat anything. I made him instant breakfast every day and used 2 packets to add calories. We took him to Children's Hospital, we tried everything. Oddly enough he did like French toast, pancakes and eventually grilled cheese. He started eating peanut butter when he was about 8 and poptarts . I worried constantly about his health and weight. This went on for several years. When he was in middle school he got invited to stay over at friends houses, I thought he'd starve. That's where he learned to eat cheese pizza. Oh my gosh, I was thrilled. Every time he stayed at a friend's he'd try something different. Not too different but progress was progress. Fast forward... he went away to college, we took him out to dinner and he ordered fish and chips but asked for broccoli instead of fries I was stunned.... he's now married and we all went out for Chinese not too long ago and he ordered crispy DUCK! Duck, for the love of God. I thought my eyes would come out of my head. He cooks all the time now and makes really good food, I'm beyond amazed.
Sharon Martin PTubes... I'm very fortunate that I did not really go through this with my child but I'm certain there are many people here who would want to know how you were able to break your son of this habit within a few months
@@mintzoni I’m jumping in to say I had this same thing and still struggle at the age of 33 and one of my 2 children has it with both texture and taste. I would also become so overwhelmed by food textures and tastes I would vomit in my lap as a child. I survived on mostly eggs and cereal.
Bigfoot from The florida woods okay this makes more sense, I was thinking how is she afraid of food in general if she still eats some food and for a minute was just thinking she’s a brat but I get it now, poor thing~
With my son we did, and for a short time he would drink them along with smoothies I would make! Now he won’t touch anything with a texture like a smoothie or shake. 😔
the reporters referring to people with this health condition as “very picky eaters” reminds me of that other video of reporters saying that children with severe social anxiety are just “shy”
She might be hypersensitive to food, she didn’t like the texture of tomatoes but she likes fruit like apples and bread. She only likes some textures of food
I'm 16 and have this same disorder and its comforting seeing it brought to light. everyone has always tried to tell me I'm just picky and I need to grow up but it's a genuine mental issue and makes life extremely difficult. It makes me glad to see other kids can get help for this.
I have this disorder too im 15 but nobody in my family takes me serious like its so sad me and my boyfriend can never go out for like dinner dates cuz i wont eat anything most of the time it can really affect lives
Hey I actually have food neophobia. It's usually the result of other conditions (in my case autism). It's a huge pain in the ass, but as long as people understand it it's ok!
EarthLoveBeth I have a kid who was exactly the same, it's not indulging a picky kid, it's way beyond that. As a parent, at least for me, number one priority was CALORIES. I should have owned stock in Carnation Instant Breakfast. I bought it by the case.
PanPan -you missed the entire point of the piece. She DOES have an eating disorder. That's why she receives treatment in an *eating disorders clinic*. Imagine if every bite you took, you knew there was 50% chance of being poisoned. You'd be scared shitless of food, especially new foods. That's how her mind works. And it's not that the parents did something wrong. It's that her earliest memories of food are memories of intense pain and vomiting.
Gemma Rendell your not taught many things in school, think about this then. School is known worldwide as a big educational system, why ain’t we learning about the biggest geniuses in history,? Why would we learn about disorders that only a small population has? You think everything we “learn” in school is important? and if it’s not learnt in school it’s not important? Sounds ridiculous. We were never taught the life importance’s. I can’t remember learning anything in school which is important except primary school.
I had this for most of my childhood. I'm 23 now and things are way better, however this is not a joke. I remember wanting to try certain foods but my brain stopping me from picking up a fork and eating it and I remember sitting in a restaurant and knowing it's wrong to be the way that I am but stuck on how to fix it. I remember when I was about 6 years old, my primary school did a curry tasting session one day for our class and I hid in the toilets before a teacher realised I was missing and then forced me to eat something in front of the rest of the class because "I was being rude for not trying anything" when my brain physically wouldn't let me. I also had acid reflux as a baby and I used to get bullied over my eating habits at school and kids would either throw food at me that they knew I didn't like or even with my closest friends I would stay over at their houses and they'd ask me why I was the way I was and try and hold me down so I'd eat pizza and stuff (Now I realise they obviously weren't real friends) but things like that traumatised me and also what made matters worse is that my family made such a huge deal about it when I did try something and that embarrassed me and made me not want to do it again. It started getting better when I was around 16 because I realised friends were inviting me out to meals and parties and I realised if I didn't eat or refused to eat then I could easily lose those friends as they'd think I'm weird and so I used to look on the menu for an item of food that was closest to something I'd eat and then try that, e.g trying a Salmon fillet because I ate tuna and thought it might be similar or noticing it came with mash potato and veg (which I loved) and realising that if I didn't like the salmon then it didn't matter as long as there was something on my plate that I was willing to eat. I do still struggle with this sometimes today but I am getting there, my taste buds are willing to accept a lot more foods nowadays and I'm comfortable eating certain foods in front of people and I do have a balanced diet. I never realised that what I had was a condition, I thought I was just weird but back in the 2000s there was no help for me and everyone looked down on me for it. I am proud of myself for how much I've overcome and dealt with. There may be some of you in the comments who see this and just think, "Wow she's weird" or "This is dumb". I ask you to hold back your judgement and instead try and emphasise and think about what it must be like to want to eat something but having no willpower in your head to physically pick up a fork and do it. It's been a challenge and it's taken a lot of hard work, no one is to blame but myself and I wish I never had these struggles but I'm proud of myself now for doing as well as I have and now being able to say that I have a balanced and healthy diet 😊
Hmm I wonder if my cousin has this.. she’s very similar - she will only eat chicken fingers, grapes, and cheese and crackers and she’s now 15.. I tried to gently probe why she didn’t want to eat other foods and she described it very much like you just did.. I think she wants to but her brain just stops her from trying new things… she also doesn’t like change so I think it’s also an anxiety/control issue ..
They said she have acid reflux since she was a baby. Oily food causes acid reflux. Some vegetables also causes acid reflux/gas. Avoid sour stuff. She's scared of the acid reflux that happens after eating.
I have always had severe gi issues and I can confirm. Acid reflux is no joke. When you’re a kid you can’t comprehend why you are constantly throwing up in your mouth or why your stomach and throat is burning. Just that it happens after you eat. So you don’t want to eat anything. Especially not pasta and vegetables. I hope she got the treatment that she needed for it.
@@oppaloopa3698 I'd get acid reflux all the time. Multiple times a day usually.. so i stopped eating.. acid reflux was very painful.. but I watch what I eat and I'm better now and only get it a few times a week :) Yay only once a week now
The reporter was really being rude. She has a condition. “Are still eating like 4 year olds” You don’t get to disrespect and judge people like that smh 🤦♀️
As someone with chronic stomach pain, I sympathize with her being afraid of food possibly because of her past acid reflux. She’s about sixteen now; I hope she’s doing much better :)
Dowse I’m really sorry to hear that. Chronic pain often times makes us feel hopeless because there isn’t really a “cure” per say, but it helps a bit to know that there are ways to manage it. I wish you the best, and remember that your pain does not define you. Good luck with everything♥️♥️
-Seedrian Sparkles- I used to eat anything I wanted until 2 years ago, I started having chronic pain it was unbearable I didn’t know what was causing it, I pretty much ate the same meals until I realize it was beef what made me sick, scallops, shrimp, once I stopped eating that I didn’t have the horrible pain anymore, but I’m always afraid of new foods now, I’m very picky when I eat out and it bothers me so much when people try to tell me to just eat a bite of beef 😕 I always say it’s not worth the pain, the person I’m nowadays is not the same I was 2 years ago..
ccchat8 I can imagine that if this child was alive about 100 years ago. Picky eating was a major no no. Either you eat or you got spanked. I do feel that we have come a long ways since then. I too was a picky eater but not as bad as this child. I out grew it but there still some things I don't eat.
She seems so sweet, I feel bad about her condition and I find it disrespectful that the reporters are calling her picky when she can't even control it. Not to mention, she really doesn't WANT to be like this :/
As someone who has emetophobia (a phobia of vomiting) I have struggled for YEARS with food. I can eat a lot more than I used to, but I can feel her pain. I know her cause of fear of food is different, but to everyone complaining "she just wants sugar" etc, when richer foods make you feel sick, you find your safe foods. Mine are always carbs and are mostly always sweet. Muffins and cereal and my top safety foods. I hope she's doing a lot better now, it's really hard to push through.
some people dont realise emetophobia is an anxiety disorder, not just a typical phobia. my mom used to laugh at me when i was screaming and crying that i wanted to die because i had a stomach ache. i dont think people realise what we go through on a daily basis..
Peachŷ Røse I have emetophobia too! Regardless of who is throwing up, if they are next to me, I plug my ear and get the hell out of there. I’ll start crying and have an anxiety attack if I can’t leave. If I’m get sick, it’s even worse. I feel like I can’t breathe!
I only more recently learned about emetophobia but oh my gosh I really struggled with this as a kid. Nobody ever gave it a name. Everyone would say it was just a sensitive stomach or I was easily grossed out but it was more than that. Years of crying, getting belittled by school nurses, stomachaches, and starving myself because I was scared of vomiting and I finally have a name for it. I'm glad to say I'm doing much better now and have been doing great for the past 8 or so years. I even love food now! I've never even shared this with anyone or allowed myself to think about it too much but I'm proud of myself and where I'm at now

If anyone has questions about this disorder, I have been suffering from ‘food neophobia’, now more commonly know as ARFID, or Avoidant/Restrictive food intake disorder, for 17 years now. Feel free to ask me anything as a reply
i have questions so im only 13 and i think ive had this my whole life, but ive never been diagnosed.. everytime i go to the doctor they tell me im okay.. ive probably ate around 70 different foods my whole life.. yesterday and today i searched up everything about ARFID and now ive developed really bad anxiety and ive lost my appetite..... so do you think i just have really bad anxiety which makes me feel like throwing up when i eat ANYTHING? or is it something more serious? this has kinda been happening for the past month.
another thing is, i dont know if i get my nutrients if i eat foods like: bread, quesidillas, grilled cheese, pb&g, i eat salads too, literally every type of fruit, almonds and peanuts, and i eat pizza, french fries and other junkfoods too. OH AND i also eat some veggies like celery, cucumber, carrots, lettuce, spinach along with smoothies. but im afraid to try new foods because i will gag at the smell
People commenting who don't have this condition have no idea what they are talking about. It's not that you don't want to eat; you really do. But imagine that just about everything makes you physically wretch. That's what happens, you try new foods, it gets to the back of your throat and your tongue literally throws it back out. It is so painful, embarrassing and debilitating, that eating when anyone else is there becomes a nightmare. You very quickly identify what you can and can't eat without throwing up. You try the very best you can and it can take years to add just one food to your diet. I have suffered with this my entire life. I have tried hypnosis, counselling, kinesiology and desensitizing therapy. Nothing has worked. It is a constant 'thing' in one's life, and folks mouthing off about how it is just being 'picky' or juvenile don't have any idea what a pain in the butt it is.
Then wouldnt it be something to with the taste buds or that specific part of your brain? I would think that in 2016 they could run some test and narrow down the problem. Like finding out what foods you do eat and see if their are similarity in taste or texture between them. This girl seems to eat alot of sweets. Its been proven that sugar is very similar to cocaine in the way it produces serotonin in the brain. Could she just have an addiction to sugar?
Dark Souls You make some interesting points. Sugar is the devil every which way...lol. However, as to research, there is currently a major research attempt being made by Duke University. Many picky eaters are probably what is known as 'supertasters' (my son PE is definitely a supertaster, he can literally identify something that has just been in contact with something else. As a child he could pick up a toy and say what the plastic was made of and who was the last person to touch it). It is an extremely complex issue and most PE are looking forward to more research into our condition.
The reporter keeps saying "sHe'S a VeRY pIckY EaTer" even after knowing she has a condition, a phobia like its just a fancy new word to describe "picky eater"
All these people are calling her a "brat" or a "bitch" but neophobia is a mental disorder just as real as a mental disorder like anorexia. The fact is, they are I convinced that she's just not eating it because she doesn't like it or the way it looks, but she literally can't help it. When she sees a plate of food that she's never tried, it scares ever because she knows that there's no way she will be able to try it. Deep down, she wants to be able to try it. The problem is that her mind won't let her. The problem with neophobia is that even if they bring themselves to try the food, they will almost never like it because their brain will override their taste buds when they begin to put it in their mouth by saying "this will be horrible" and so it is. Just because it's a mental disorder you don't understand doesn't mean you should act like it's not one at all.
i had this for two years and it was hell. I didn’t eat even when i was hungry because i was scared to throw up. I lost 20 pounds. I still suffer from emetephobia but I eat now.
I'm so sorry! I have had this since I was 4... I'm 16 now and am still dealing with it. It definitely sucks. I also think I have Cibophobia because I'm afraid of getting food poisoning because of feeling nausous with goes hand in hand with my emetophobia. I hope you feel completly better and just know every day it'll be better. I'm trying to tell my self the same thing because there our days I've been really depressed thinking I'll never get over this.
Hey! I can’t believe you went through this. I also face this a lot. I so feel your pain. And I hope your okay now, my empothobia always told me food would make me _ (don’t want to say a trigger word). I’m so sorry you had to go through that, good luck with it. :)
I have a cousin that has same condition as her. He only eats chips, ramen, and rice. I can remember him crying over a hotdog cuz his mom forced him to eat. Currently he's now 25 y.o and the menu increased with peanut butter and chicharon.
If my family ever calls me picky for trying to eat healthy foods, I’m going to show them this video. There’s a difference between healthy eating and restrictive, picky eating.
This hurts me. I have a less talked about eating disorder that is exactly like this. And saying "she's eating like a four-year-old" is incredibly rude. If you knew what this was like and you had it you would know that getting the right nutrition is super hard
The only reason a child would be spoiled and not wanting to eat is because she doesn't want to get fat, or look like one of those Photoshopped magazine models. I think she's too young for that at this point
Some of yall need to get your heads out of your butts. This girl has a real problem and it's not her parents fault. When the lady described the mind of a picky eater, she was pretty spot on. You do not know what it's like to be a picky eater or have a picky eater child. I have sensory issues so I can understand a lot of her preferences. Like the only creamy peanut butter. And only certain brands. I don't know about her taste, but for me, I can taste a difference in brands of food when other people often can't. And sometimes it's gross. It is not bratty to have food preferences. Walk in people's shoes, educate yourself and have a little empathy.
+anglekan I can't tell if you're agreeing with me but my parents beat my butt for acting up and as a result, I respect my elders and know how to hold my tongue but I'm still really picky.
You don't teach a child to respect you by beating them. Beatings teach them to do what you want of them with fear as an incentive, not respect. Bethany Brown
At the beginning of last year I struggled with eating due to panic attacks due to emetophobia (fear of vomit). It was the most painful thing ever because I was so hungry and I all I could do was sit and stare at my food while hysterically crying. I hope this girl is better and healthy.
As a 20 year old that suffers with this condition. People don't understand, it actually causes sooo much anxiety even thinking about trying a food were not comfortable with. I went to a child psychologist at 4 and he told my parents I would grow out of it. At almost 20 and I still haven't "grown out of it" my parents even tried a "eat it, don't eat it, don't care method" didn't work. Lol however pizza is Bae to me lol
This happened to me for around a year. The first month was so difficult. I could barely even swallow applesauce. I had extreme anxiety with eating anything solid. I needed to eat alone and with lots of water to help me wash down the food. I'm not sure why sweets were okay for me, not "actual" food though. Thankfully I have recovered almost completely, but it was the worst thing ever. I could never wish this upon anyone.
dead ass my little cousin def has this. i swear these are the only things he eats: cheerios doritos kraft dinner fruit snacks bananas that is it. he cries because he is so petrified of trying new food i just don’t get it
He most likely has ARFID: Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. It was finally classified as an eating disorder in 2003. See this video: m.ruclips.net/video/JK9r14D4d-k/видео.html My daughter has this & we are going to therapy for it.
Dibab believe me. they’ve tried. he’s 11 and they legit told him that if he won’t eat what she makes he will starve. and he didn’t eat for almost 2 days so she couldn’t continue that
Mountain N they didn’t because it is expensive and because they thought I would get over it. I am better than those kids for sure. But I still have a feeling of fear when I eat certain things. I used to love Salmon, I got sick from it one time and now I feel anxiety just at looking at it. I didn’t like seafood as a kid and my first instinct when I see something I didn’t like as a kid is to panic and not eat it. I have to calm myself and think logically and take slow bites. It doesn’t always work but it helps.
Although I can't relate specifically to being that "picky", I've had my share of issues with food and a lifelong struggle with anxiety so I can feel her pain so much. She's doing so good honestly, this video resonated with me so much. I'm so proud of this little girl
Liuhuayue I'm allergic to raw tomatoes, they are ok when they are heavily cooked, but if I eat them raw my throat swells and I get hives under my chin and down my neck, and my stomach hurts and I throw up. Part of this girl's problem may be she has an actual food allergy or sensitivity that the parents don't know she has. If she was made to eat things that made her hurt or not feel well, I can see how her mind would reject accepting food she did not already know didn't hurt her.
Everyone is so damn rude in these comments. It's a real "disease" or "phobia" , whatever you want to call it. My younger brother (who is only 3 years old) has this same damn problem & they can't help it . The most logically reason this girl has this problem is because her parents never fed her solid food soon enough when she was a baby. Don't be so damn ignorant. It looks childish and naive of you , when you say she's doing it for attention
Darlene Ponce I agree. Also when babies don't get great milk they can become very sick. I used to be a very sick baby, always sick :/ I hope your brother gets better
Darlene Ponce I struggled really bad with eating solid foods. I would start to gag and feel sick. I lost so much weight and relied heavily on nut bars. I would eat 1 but bar for the day and a smoothie. My anxiety is better now than it was and I'm much much much better now, but from time to time it still comes back.
I was suspicious that she was just pickey and spoiled. But then they said she said she wants to eat normal. And that it started really young. Thats heartbreaking..
Maria Raniel It may seem confusing. However the chips, peanut butter, and all other things those are junk foods not actually food that kids should not really eat..
My son is like this but not that bad 😔. but only with rice , pasta , slimy foods and sauces. He likes his food contained inside bread or breaded foods . If that makes sense .
Erin is exactly like my son. I thought we were the only family with this challenge. I didn't know it had a name and was a condition. The negative comments here are exactly how we feel some people view us as parents, but we have always felt it was related to his severe reflux. This is actually a relief. I can't wait to show my son. He has started getting really upset and frustrated with himself. I can't believe I found this film. It is an absolute mirror of our son.
have hope bc it takes 15 times of trying new foods until u like it so keep on giving him foods again again and again. I was a picky eater and I gradually expanded my diet by starting with healthy shakes which contained fruits and spinach (my parents gave me this and its nice because u get proper nutrition an since I drank it with a straw I barely tasted it, I actually started liking the taste when they masked it with honey which is a good trick). the most difficult challenge is breaking the barrier, once he tries one food it'll be easier for him to try more especially if he as problems with texture, for example if he tries one fruit, he'll be use to its texture and it'll be easier to try more. also when trying new foods instead of thinking "omg this taste disgusting" (which is what all picky eaters think) tell him to have positive thoughts and think "hey its not that bad" or "it actually tastes kind of good." positive reinforcement will take him a long way. I hope this helps!
Omg ppl she has just food neophobia, even if she gets hungry she wouldn't eat beacse she is scared of the food or whatever,my mom exactly knows that too she has heared of it. This is why anxiety and depression still take hold regardless of economic background.

Artemis Fielder I literally said it wasn’t being a picky eater to the person who said it was.
It's sad that some of you think this is just picky eating. That's like saying anorexia is just occasionally skipping a meal because you're full.
EarthLoveBeth I have a kid who was exactly the same, it's not indulging a picky kid, it's way beyond that. As a parent, at least for me, number one priority was CALORIES. I should have owned stock in Carnation Instant Breakfast. I bought it by the case.
In addition my son was in the 90th percentile for his height and in the 5th for his weight.
EarthLoveBeth why? She doesn’t have an eating disorder she eats food she’s being very picky
I think she wants to but her brain just stops her from trying new things… she also doesn’t like change so I think it’s also an anxiety/control issue ..

its good she's eating fruit
heather gjerdingen at least
heather gjerdingen You broke the law. when you set up your youtube accout, and signed the terms of service, it clearly states you must be 13+ years of age. They could remove your account or have minimal legal consequences, so please if you're going to watch videos at least don't comment. You're portraying your age by your attitude I'm guessing 9-10 at the greatest. So stop before you pay the price me report should start you off.
heather gjerdingen never mind mabe even 7-8 seriosuly
+Tori R what are you even saying, idk if your just making a meme, or you're just one serious person with basically no friends, because of your personality. If hes stupid, just tell him to stfu not that hard
Tori R you can't tell what someone's age is by just one comment and it is good that she is eating fruit and your probably just saying that cause your under 13
She eats enough food to stay alive at least... I bet eating made her have pain so she eats what's safe to not get sick r hurt n it's stuck w her
But she is not eating meat or vegetables so she is losing nutrients.
My daughter has foods that cause her pain, like pasta and rice and she won't eat them and I won't make but I also didn't raise her on eating junk.
JoJo Love dude it makes her sick that’s just cold dude..
It sounds like she has bad mental habits and patterns
If anyone has questions about this disorder, I have been suffering from ‘food neophobia’, now more commonly know as ARFID, or Avoidant/Restrictive food intake disorder, for 17 years now. Feel free to ask me anything as a reply
i have questions so im only 13 and i think ive had this my whole life, but ive never been diagnosed.. everytime i go to the doctor they tell me im okay.. ive probably ate around 70 different foods my whole life.. yesterday and today i searched up everything about ARFID and now ive developed really bad anxiety and ive lost my appetite..... so do you think i just have really bad anxiety which makes me feel like throwing up when i eat ANYTHING? or is it something more serious? this has kinda been happening for the past month.
another thing is, i dont know if i get my nutrients if i eat foods like:
bread, quesidillas, grilled cheese, pb&g, i eat salads too, literally every type of fruit, almonds and peanuts, and i eat pizza, french fries and other junkfoods too.
Exactly. People really need to understand that it isn't all that simple.
your right
Then wouldnt it be something to with the taste buds or that specific part of your brain? I would think that in 2016 they could run some test and narrow down the problem. Like finding out what foods you do eat and see if their are similarity in taste or texture between them. This girl seems to eat alot of sweets. Its been proven that sugar is very similar to cocaine in the way it produces serotonin in the brain. Could she just have an addiction to sugar?
I think im battling with the same thing....maybe u can inbox me n I can ask you some questions bout it...
I thought that it said,

superbest hest Same..
Thank you! People need to stop being such cyber bullies n leave the kid alone!! Who hates on a little girl?
finally someone understands !!
Gum bearz Way to go yet your waiting your time! Its sad yet that the way pp can be.
Yaaa, no it's just being a little brat
Player Equinox I second that. "I don't have anything to eat." She has plenty to eat. She just doesn't do it.
i had this for two years and it was hell.
Jesus loves y'all
i was like this when i was a kid. lol wait till she's older, prolly ended up eating in the middle of 3am infront of a fridge
She's 16 now
Me too, but now I eat almost everything. Love to cook too.
I have a cousin that has same condition as her. He only eats chips, ramen, and rice. I can remember him crying over a hotdog cuz his mom forced him to eat. Currently he's now 25 y.o and the menu increased with peanut butter and chicharon.
My brother was like this i thought he was just being picky and annoying. he eats everything now not healthy but its okkkkkk
bon qui qui me too! Hahaha
The “still eating like four year olds” comment is like telling a kid who broke there arm to just
“fix it”
Jesus Christ powerful Holy Saviour of World bless and your family my friends ❤
"Shes not justs a picky eater, shes an extremely picky eater."
wow! 😯🤭

+GamerCat_706 I hate nutella
If my family ever calls me picky for trying to eat healthy foods, I’m going to show them this video. There’s a difference between healthy eating and restrictive, picky eating.
This hurts me. I have a less talked about eating disorder that is exactly like this. And saying "she's eating like a four-year-old" is incredibly rude. If you knew what this was like and you had it you would know that getting the right nutrition is super hard
Food Neophobia exists. She doesn't have it. The parents gave up too quickly.
sonicawesomeness thank you, doctor
hayleypdowd She is literally just saying "Mmm... no." She's deciding. People with actual food neophobia get physically ill when they see other food.
sonicawesomeness I agree with you. She's a brat. Her parents are coddling her.
1, she was starving herself from birth
2, she's refusing Pizza, even after tasting it
3, This is MURICA damit--jk lol
I think she's legit food phobic
The only reason a child would be spoiled and not wanting to eat is because she doesn't want to get fat, or look like one of those Photoshopped magazine models.
I think she's too young for that at this point
7 years old? Damn, I ate almost everything when I was 7.
Yeah me too
So true💯
zeldafan1002 yup I ate bees
zeldafan1002+ lol when i was 7 i eat food like a monster
zeldafan1002 Same I loved every food now I don't
Thank you! My husband has this exact problem and he's doing fine :)
+Bethany Brown Thank you from me too!
I have a sensory disorder also. I know how that kid feels! I think Arron has a sensory disorder, that is more serious!
I have this too and watching her trying the foods made me nauseous. I'm the opposite of you though. Pizza is my number one worst nightmare food.
This isn't just pickiness. This is ADVANCED pickiness.
:/
No, it's Food Neophobia
+Amelia Kelley FINALLY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS.
I think she needs a Potatoe
+770megaman you commented potato on like ten comments😂
I feel so bad for her. Hopefully she’s doing better now.
My daughter has this....she literally runs when you offer her food, she's currently eating weetbix and noodles only
Hope everything gets better
Javier Ruiz WTF?!?!??
Javier Ruiz that’s sick
@@lexihayes1571 I see no Javiar what did he say
It could be Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. It can be treated by professionals. Hope everything goes well
dead ass my little cousin def has this. i swear these are the only things he eats:
cheerios
doritos
kraft dinner
fruit snacks
bananas
that is it. he cries because he is so petrified of trying new food i just don’t get it
He most likely has ARFID: Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. It was finally classified as an eating disorder in 2003. See this video:
m.ruclips.net/video/JK9r14D4d-k/видео.html
My daughter has this & we are going to therapy for it.
Cheerios are disgusting
Here is some more information about it
ruclips.net/video/dQw4w9WgXcQ/видео.html
Dibab believe me. they’ve tried. he’s 11 and they legit told him that if he won’t eat what she makes he will starve. and he didn’t eat for almost 2 days so she couldn’t continue that
@Dibab okay boomer
I understand that kid, my parents almost enrolled me in a eating disorder clinic. I feel so bad for her. She must feel so judged.
Annika Lunsford Why didn’t they? Did you get over it?
I hated raw cherry tomatoes too.
Liuhuayue Think of antioxidant ,vitamin and minerals.
Liuhuayue I still do.
Unicorn Lady (formerly archiecook55)
I don't blame you. I'll bear with them now, but I still don't like them.
Chantell Scherer I think you're probably right about the allergy/sensitivity thing. I remember the video did say she felt sick a lot of the time.
As an asian I must say I never heard a kid with this phobia around here.
In asian your lucky enough if you can eat.
gracie that girl needs a Mexican mom
I laughed way too hard at this. My Filipino grandma would have whacked me with a stick if I didn't eat hahahah
american kids are just spoiled. and americans just playing along making it a disorder and coining terms
Only in America!!!!!! I’m sure it exists in other places. However…
Everyone is so damn rude in these comments.
Darlene Ponce I HAVE IT TOO 😭😂
thank you
Darlene Ponce I struggled really bad with eating solid foods. I would start to gag and feel sick. I lost so much weight and relied heavily on nut bars. I would eat 1 but bar for the day and a smoothie. My anxiety is better now than it was and I'm much much much better now, but from time to time it still comes back.
Darlene Ponce she had acid reflux as a kid. Every time she ate was painful and that pain was associated with food
The reporter that keeps saying she’s a “picky eater” is rude and disrespectful, because it’s more than her being picky.
I was suspicious that she was just pickey and spoiled. But then they said she said she wants to eat normal. And that it started really young. Thats heartbreaking..
The only meal I DON'T eat is breakfast
sameee
Yup same
Breakfast=my favorite meal
Same..until I heard it causes bad health risks
Basically, you hate carbs, the energy that lets you do anything...
She eats, fries, pancakes waffles etc isn't that food? I'm actually confused
Maria Raniel she eats food just barley any types.
So basically she tried these foods and liked them but as time went on she stopped trying and liking foods until it became a problem
Maria Raniel It may seem confusing. However the chips, peanut butter, and all other things those are junk foods not actually food that kids should not really eat..
seems to be her mom enables her. don't feed the kid and see if they'll eat when they're really hungry.
My son is like this but not that bad 😔. but only with rice , pasta , slimy foods and sauces. He likes his food contained inside bread or breaded foods . If that makes sense .
I once saw a maggot in my rice, I stopped eating rice for a year. This is the only thing I can relate to "Food neophobia"
This reminds me of what’s its like for some pregnant women that can’t eat certain foods.
Gavin Sinclair Our son too and he had GERD as well, was born with it. People don't understand.
Gavin Sinclair That's so depressing. I hope he recovers, god bless you and your family.
have hope bc it takes 15 times of trying new foods until u like it so keep on giving him foods again again and again.
Watch more of this things and learn before you comment idiots, the others who thinks she really has this food fear are smart and poor girl.
krasimira manolova 😒
krasimira manolova
They comment stupid things because they aren't the ones suffering once the tables turn they will be just as hellpless
krasimira manolova Yep, that's exactly what I'm like. Some people are like, "oH yA! ShE dO fOR atTentOn" (Note: I spelled 'attention wrong' on purpose cuz usually commenters can't spell) then I'm all like, "Bruh. *STABS IN FACEEEEE* DANG YOU, MAN, SHE LEGIT CAN'T EAT MOST FOODS. IT'S NOT BECAUSE SHE'S PICKY!!!"
I suffer from this and is horrible. I have fear for food I don’t like. For example, if I have to eat veggie soup I’ll literally have a panic attack and a breakdown.
That’s not neophobia mate, I live with it.
I am a person with food neophobia and I am so thankful my parents do not force me to eat things I don’t want to. They only encourage me. I hope to improve in the future!
This was me as a child. I would never eat, and I was the most active person ever. So I was extreeeeemely skinny. Plus, I never ate vegetables or peanut butter. But the main difference between me and her was I have so many allergies. So many, so I was afraid to eat anything. And I would never agree to try new foods. There is not any way in the world that I would.
Heather Laney is that low carb? Do they sell organic versions of it?
Yep, the organic version melts your inside faster though, but it's slightly less painful. And yes, it is low carb. In fact, it's no carb. It's acid, dumbass.
Heather Laney I can't seem to find them in pharmacies near by...:(
Order it off of carolina biological supply.
You didn't like peanut butter. How could you?
