I have the same condition! it's awful when you're sleeping that long, once you're out of an episode, you feel so sore and sometimes you can remember when and where you are, but usually you're just really disoriented and don't understand why everyone is mad at you. I'm told I once ate almost all of a three pound bag of gummi bears and a full pound of baby carrots with a truly ungodly amount of ranch, as well as two Gatorades and a bottle of water. I have no memory of this at all
Maybe a silly question but after you have slept that long, can you stay up for a longer period? Or do you go right back to a normal routine of waking and sleeping again? I only ask because as a chronic insomniac, I stay up most of 2 or 3 nights after one good sleep.

it isnt fake. i know someone who suffers from this disorder and sometimes her bowels dont function and as she got older they give her a catheter. it isnt a condition that can be stopped. and the person i know doesn't wake up. she's been to a doctor and they hooked her up to a machine and even when she has woken up she wont remember it. happened monthly then every few months. been in and out of hospitals. whoever doesnt believe it just because it doesnt make sense or because this story didnt cover logostics like using the bathroom is daft. it's a very real thing to suffer. its sad. Their missing out on life.

They don't have a choice. You can't wake a person with KLS. For one thing, even if you do manage to rouse them briefly, they become mean and possibly violent. And if you do rouse them, the second you turn your back, they're sound asleep again.

This happens to me every 5 years or so since I was 14 and I’m 38 now. I am a somnambulist diagnosed with REM sleep movement disorder and other genetic disorders. My first sleep “episode” was connected to endometriosis and after my first surgery it didn’t happen again for years. But it will always happen eventually.

When i was very acidic i couldn't sleep i don't care how much i tried but when i alkalized everything turned OK. If you are overweight and have difficulty losing weight, that is a sure sign you're very acidic... I could be wrong with your particular reason, but it's something that most people don't know about and never hurt to see if it helps....
I’m 41 and I sleep for 2-3 days at a time. It started as sleeping around 24 hrs but when I lost my Dad, it got worse and that was almost a year ago. I got on antidepressants and nerve medication, changed the dose on my thyroid medication, and just found out I have fatty liver but none of that should make me sleep as much as I do. If I have a seizure, I can sleep up to 4 days.
I'm sure it's not the same thing, but I use to have periods like these where I'd sleep for a week or two when I was around 12. I still feel kinda guilty because my mom constantly worried and would check on me to make sure I'm still breathing because I would not budge. I remember one time when my dad woke me up and I was so angry and aggressive about waking up and screamed at him before crying myself to sleep. My parents now refer to it as my "hibernating bear" period and I now have problems with insomnia. It's like I used up all my sleep points.

it isnt fake. i know someone who suffers from this disorder and sometimes her bowels dont function and as she got older they give her a catheter. it isnt a condition that can be stopped. and the person i know doesn't wake up. she's been to a doctor and they hooked her up to a machine and even when she has woken up she wont remember it. happened monthly then every few months. been in and out of hospitals. whoever doesnt believe it just because it doesnt make sense or because this story didnt cover logostics like using the bathroom is daft. it's a very real thing to suffer. its sad. Their missing out on life.

This happens to me every 5 years or so since I was 14 and I’m 38 now. I am a somnambulist diagnosed with REM sleep movement disorder and other genetic disorders. My first sleep “episode” was connected to endometriosis and after my first surgery it didn’t happen again for years. But it will always happen eventually.

I am so sorry you have to suffer through that. I have chronic migraines. I am 33 and have been suffering since I was 7. I get 5 to 6 a week and they will put me in bed around 5 out of a 7 day week.. I miss so much of life.. I cant work anymore and I've lost the desire to do any of the hobbies I used to enjoy because the pain is just so severe. I lose my vision in one eye and can only see a little out of the other when the pain gets very severe and for the past year I've been starting to lose feeling and function in my left hand/arm. I’m 41 and I sleep for 2-3 days at a time. It started as sleeping around 24 hrs but when I lost my Dad, it got worse and that was almost a year ago. I got on antidepressants and nerve medication, changed the dose on my thyroid medication, and just found out I have fatty liver but none of that should make me sleep as much as I do. If I have a seizure, I can sleep up to 4 days.

I'm sure it's not the same thing, but I use to have periods like these where I'd sleep for a week or two when I was around 12. I still feel kinda guilty because my mom constantly worried and would check on me to make sure I'm still breathing because I would not budge. I remember one time when my dad woke me up and I was so angry and aggressive about waking up and screamed at him before crying myself to sleep. My parents now refer to it as my "hibernating bear" period and I now have problems with insomnia. It's like I used up all my sleep points.
