I am so happy she was diagnosed! My 7 year old suddenly woke up like a different kid. He was diagnosed with PANS/PANDAS. 30 days of antibiotics and OCD meds and I have my baby back. Parents if your kiddo suddenly changes overnight. You don’t recognize them push the doctors to find the cause. Many doctors don’t know of or even believe this is real. THIS IS VERY REAL. Don’t stop until you find a doctor that can help your kid. I wouldn’t have believed it had we not lived it. May God’s grace lead you to doctors who can help.
My sister has pandas. She was also "diagnosed" around 7 years old. She is now a teenager and still deals with symptoms but has grown so much now that we know what she is.

You make a great point on noticing behavior changes because I think a lot of people from the outside would (understandably but incorrectly) assume this was just the child’s behavior and she needed some different parenting techniques but if your child is having any kind of erratic or sudden change in behavior, there’s probably an underlying cause that can’t just be explained away as a “behavior problem.” This would be so scary as a parent, especially the suicidal thoughts in such a young child. I’m glad at least that videos like this can succeed in bringing some awareness.
FOR REAL! Everything about this situation is suspicious... I don't think she would be having "temper tantrums" if her parents just try to understand her child more. NOT PUT HER ON FUCKING LIVE T.V.!
@@justafellowsamaritan7845 She legit has PANDAS and they’re acting like “she’s so naughty” she can’t help it! But I’m sure her parents recording it and talking about it online isn’t going to make it any better.
Update on Alexia’s story: Alexia was successfully diagnosed with PANDAS. PANDAS is a disorder that causes the immune system to attack the brain whenever you get infections, leading to irrational, erratic behaviour (sometimes also physical symptoms such as seizures, but this didn’t happen in Alexia’s case), and is initially specifically triggered by strep bacteria. Source: ruclips.net/video/lGNH2d_9MWM/видео.html For a while, she got the right antibiotics which got her back to normal. But soon the antibiotics stopped working, so she’s now having other symptoms such as hallucinations, hearing voices, and suicidal thoughts.

Video: This little girl was a normal, well-behaved child but contracted an illness that damaged her brain. Comments: *sHe NeEDs a BeLt!* Edit: It's been a while since I checked this but I'll just say to all the people who say "white people are too nice" or "she would never act like this around a black/Mexican/Asian family" are wrong in many ways. There *are* white people who beat their kids, they're called rednecks and I was raised by them. And I was beaten with a belt but it never taught me good behavior or respect, it taught me fear and discipline and it definitely affected me negatively. There were even times where I didn't know why I was punished and expected to know but it was never explained to me. And stop bringing race into issues like this. Whenever I see the "[insert minority race] beat their kids" argument, it doesn't make me change my mind because, like I said before, all races have beaten their kids and second; all your argument does is tell me that minorities are abusive towards children. What kind of argument is that? Are you seriously trying to turn everyone into a racist with this?
I am a clinical social worker and specialize in OCD. We will occasionally get kids with PANDAS. Some insurances won't recognize the disorder and so won't pay for the very expensive treatment. Therefore, some families have to go without the treatment their child desperately needs or go into debt because the goal for insurance companies is to figure out ways to not have to pay for services.
i know another case of shizophrenia caused by sexual abuse. the child was painfully penetrated and feel the urge to put her brother a knife in his body, which was the pain she felt while abuse. a full documentary called "the girl with shizophrenia" is on youtube.
FOR EVERYONE NEEDING AN UPDATE: She ended up getting diagnosed with PANDAS, a very rare condition that happens after a sickness and it affects the way your brain functions. She got taken care of, and the last update I saw was of her at age 8, and she’s doing much better. Thank god!!!!!
@@alexiabaier14 I don’t blame you I used to be a very violent child as well. And the worst part is in my opinion, people would expect the mother to be able to handle her because she is a special needs teacher, but the biggest difference is, after a hard day at work she could go home to her well-behaved, neurotypical children. She had a break. It is a completely different story when you are dealing with it 24/7. As someone who worked in a care facility who dealt with behaviors, it is unbelievably frustrating to handle destructive and violent behaviors and what gets me through those shifts with my head on straight was knowing I could go home and decompress. I feel sooo bad for that mother.
I was like this as a kid. It terrifies me to think that I ever was this bad. I was dealing with a mother who had NPD as well as lashing out from meltdowns and sensory overload ( I am Autistic but only just discovered this at 28). A large factor in my bad behavior was dealing with my mother; she was cold, uncaring, and to this day puts her desires above the health and will being of her children. I feel for this little girl and I hope she gets the helps she needs. It often unfortunately is the parents that cause their kids to lash out. This little girl likely is not having all of her needs met.
I believe it PANS or PANDAS, but it’s important to never discount the spiritual aspect of things in this world!! Jesus even cast out demons. I would take her to a good Lyme, mold and PANS literate doctor, but also to a quality pastor. Praying for this poor child. My heart breaks for her suffering. 🙏🙏🙏
Felicity Ramsey I know. I’m just saying that people are saying that some people commented about beating her with the belt but there isn’t any comment about it.
The behavior is alarming because you can easily tell that this isn't a personality issue. The first worry you have is a behavior altering medical issue (like a tumor or chemical imbalance). It doesn't always have to be a trauma that causes something like this. This is a case where you have to bypass the behavior to find the issue instead of being reactive to it.
If a person isn't what they say and do, then what are they? May as well just release all 7 million prisoners in this country. After all, "it's not their fault."

Smallpotato 127 uh yeah. Also glad she's not a single mom and in an apartment complex or riding the bus or living in a shelter. She would've been HOUNDED by CPS, cops, neighbors, etc.
Helen Smith thanks, but in all honesty, my heart goes out to both the parents. I don't blame either of them and I also don't blame the child. I think something, neurologically, happened to the child that she can't control easily. It is a hard situation. I don't wish that on anyone.
My daughter had problems like this, violent tantrums that lasted hours. She has just graduated in a medical degree! I always supported her and love her very much, it was hard for years on the whole family and it has taken its toll on my mental health but I am very proud of her. The younger teenage years were the worst, but tantrums started very young. I think a lot of it had to do with high intelligence and frustration that her body would not do what her mind wanted it to do, simply because of age limitations.
I have the same issue, at he age of 7, I got diagnosed with a severe case of strep throat. I got it 8 times in a month. I soon after became someone else entirely. I had behavior issues and had to be taken out of school. I hated therapy and medication. I’m almost 15 now, and am much better. Pandas is difficult, and the medicine never works, so I feel for this baby girl.
Not all children scream and cry in my experience, infants cry to communicate cause they cannot form words, toddlers and a bit older cry because they are frustrated, scared, or do not understand something, in her case she cannot control her aggression and whatnot due to the PANDAS disorder, sorry to sound annoying, but please read and take into consideration(don't attack me please)

kly rand note this person said tried. I don't think you read that right. It's clear the child needs help, but even still....she needs to be disciplined
kly rand you know, all I said was discipline. Chill. U said abuse, I didn't. Read. Discipline can vary due to the types of parents. It can pretty much be giving a stern and strong command. Like I said, yes she needs help and I am glad she did, but also trying to set discipline (it doesn't have to be spanking. It's whatever works for the child) DOES help the child get a slight understanding of what's right and wrong. Also I advise you to not call someone ignorant and uneducated for a simple thought. It doesn't make you very worthy of respect when you're in an argument. If she did not have a mental issue, I would spank her. Abuse also means hitting your child regularly out of no reason. Spanking is something to teach the child of what is wrong. No u don't just spank them, but you explain and teach what is wrong. But every kid works differently. Are we done now?
@@emmanuelchannel221 that's fucking idiotic, she has PANDAS a disorder, plus, hitting your child to "learn their lesson" it isn't gonna help, so as a wise gen z I saw on the internet would say, I will kindly say no❤
Antibiotics and vaccines cause or worsen the immune system. Now proven to mentally and emotionally caused cautious. this sounds like an extremely rare (possibly) autoimmune condition, pans/pandas, their symptoms fit this perfectly. when someone has strep, the immune system, instead of attacking the strep, it gets confused and starts to attack the body’s own cells, most specifically brain cells. there are medications to help with this condition, they should speak to their pediatrician.

When I was 13 I suffered from PANDAS. But, me and my family didnt know till this episode of 2020 came out. My neurologist couldn't figure out what was wrong and accused me of fracking for attention. My church thought I was possessed. Everyone thought I was faking or just crazy. I'm 20 now. Its went away as fast as it came on when I was 14. I rammed myself into walls as hard as i could after getting a running start over and over, i tried jumping out of my mothers car on the way home from a hospital, I'd pretend to be a Turkey, I tried setting my brother on fire, running out of the house at night when I was absolutely terrified of the dark. I remember everything, I could control nothing. I knew what I was doing was wrong. I endure painful seizures and would slam my head into my kitchen counters. And my doctor told my mother....."shes faking for attention" After all the time I spent thinking I was insane, to find out that I wasn't rendered me into a pile of sobbing human flesh just out of joy. That now the part of my life that traumatized me and my family now had a name. A cause. I want crazy, I didnt fake it. Strep throat was the beginning, I dont know what the end was, but all I care about is that ended. They cant control it, it's a dark place to be in and the misery of watching yourself traumatize your family stays with you forever.
She needs behavioral corrections with a good behavioral therapist. I am one. No beating the child. She need good intervention. Special needs teachers have no training for that in particular.
+xxxtentacion, As someone who suffered from PANDAS myself, it is a structurally abnormality of the brain caused by the body attacking itself: the brain cannot "learn" like a normal brain can, thus any punishment will not register no matter how much you beat her, even a million times. I hope your first thought to solve a problem is not to beat up a child, and if it is, I hope you will pause and think about the lasting consequences of beating someone vulnerable.
How do you not immediately think she probably has an infection in the brain disrupting normal electrical activity. Should be getting brain scans not a shrink, this isnt 1805.
I was a child like Her. I used to shout out at people, give my parents and teachers a hard time, through stuff around the room to get attention. "Imagine if she's born to an Asian household" I'm literally in Asia; was born to Asians. My parents didn't physically abuse us as kids. Sure, my mom might have berated us excessively; but we make sure not to repeat that bad example to my nieces, nephews, and future kids. We even have national laws criminalizing child abuse. Child abuse isn't anything to be proud of, and should never be normalized. Stop the cycle of abuse!
PANDAS is short for Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder associated with Strep (or scarlet fever) .It is your body autoimmune reaction to having strep. Look it up on Google under Pandas disease. It affects the brain and has many symptoms.
It was definitely the medicine, i had to stop giving my daughter certain medicine cause it made her so mean, the doctor said it was her medicine and when we stop giving it to her she was her self again.
A brain scan could indicate 'which' parts of the brain are most active... but they're not great for properly diagnosing a behavior problem caused by PANDAS unless there are scans to compare it to. If she had an MRI prior to being sick, and then gets one now, then you have a good comparison to use.
Kyla h. I’ve watched videos about that too. That no one thought to do a brain scan after months of therapy for a personality disorder. Then they found a tumour pushing on a certain area. They removed it and after recovery he was the kid they all remembered.
Im a single dad of 10 year old girl who is just like this. I don’t have anyone else to help me deal with it. I work 6 nights a week on third shift. Some people don’t understand the nightmare. They don’t understand how hard it is when they get into these episodes and they just can’t seem to get themselves out. You try everything. Try staying calm, try holding or hugging, try raising your voice, try punishing, try incentivizing, etc. nothing works. Sometimes it’s over nothing. Sometimes I just need her to text her grandma quick to tell her we’re on the way. Sometimes she just needs to get dressed for school. Sometimes her phone isn’t charged. You have no idea what’s going to set them off, how long it’s going to last or how it’s gonna end. I’m so glad I’m not the only one because some days I feel so defeated. And also, my daughter is autistic and that’s why she is this way. It isn’t PANDAS.
She has an amazing life and she is spoiled that's her problem if you take her toy away give her a belt send her to her room and make her clean it she'll be good
It’s so lucky that she has such loving and supportive parents, one of them being a special needs teacher. Many kids like this are just labelled as brats and written off by their parents and teachers and locked away in institutions or care facilities for mentally unstable kids and kept on cocktails of medications to “zombify” them. I’m absolutely blown away by the sheer empathy and maturity in the family, the sister didn’t blame her and suspected something had happened to her brain and the mother even wondered if it was something she had done wrong. Many parents couldn’t even face considering the possibility of a child acting out somehow being due to their own wrongdoing! The world would be an infinitely better place if more people had the same maturity, kindness and empathy as Alexia’s family. Turns out she has PANS/PANDAS a condition that causes brain inflammation following a strep infection. Who knows how many other “naughty” kids out there are also suffering from a medical condition.

Parents if your kiddo suddenly changes overnight. You don’t recognize them push the doctors to find the cause. Many doctors don’t know of or even believe this is real.

"Mommy why can't I be good I just wanna be good.."

Source: ruclips.net/video/lGNH2d_9MWM/видео.html
For a while, she got the right antibiotics which got her back to normal. But soon the antibiotics stopped working, so she’s now having other symptoms such as hallucinations, hearing voices, and suicidal thoughts.
Does that mean there is no long term treatment? Constant medication changes maybe.
That's so sad, but at the same time it's good that she's now properly diagnosed.

Edit: It's been a while since I checked this but I'll just say to all the people who say "white people are too nice" or "she would never act like this around a black/Mexican/Asian family" are wrong in many ways.

She almost looked like the exorcist movie character. Extremely disturbing and I hope this family gets help for this beautiful little girl.
If this girl was a boy you wouldn’t say this. „Beautiful little boy.“
When her head twists 360 degrees and she starts floating 6ft above the bed...ya know you gotta problem.
9 days only? She needs a month or more .... plus I still say she needs an exorcist...I'm not kidding at all.
I believe it PANS or PANDAS, but it’s important to never discount the spiritual aspect of things in this world!! Jesus even cast out demons. I would take her to a good Lyme, mold and PANS literate doctor, but also to a quality pastor.

Kellin Hanas ...Neurological includes the brain
Wouldn't it be interesting if this was the case in all *ADD* cases and millions of children and adults are needlessly being drugged - when it was all a matter of bacteria?
There's research that shows ADD and ADHD are caused by an underdevelopment of parts of the brain associated with attention not bacteria.

I always supported her and love her very much, it was hard for years on the whole family and it has taken its toll on my mental health but I am very proud of her. The younger teenage years were the worst, but tantrums started very young. kly rand you know, all I said was discipline. Are we done now?

this sounds like an extremely rare (possibly) autoimmune condition, pans/pandas, their symptoms fit this perfectly. when someone has strep, the immune system, instead of attacking the strep, it gets confused and starts to attack the body’s own cells, most specifically brain cells. there are medications to help with this condition, they should speak to their pediatrician.

To those who don't feel like watch part 2 she has PANDAS. It basically stands for kids that act out of character after having strep throat. To make a long story short the body attacks the strep but gets confused and starts attacking itself and thus attacks the brain and causes them to act oddly.

There is that neurological disorder called PANDAS
It is caused by a simple sore throat infection and it makes the body attack the brain accidently

My husband works 60-70 hours a week, and has to travel to different sites around the southeast. He calls his kids everyday, multiple times a day. He calls me to ask how I'm doing and ask about how the kids are, ask how it was getting them ready for school, did they eat breakfast ok, and after he gets back to the hotel he calls and talks to us all again. He plays online games with the older 2 before bed while talking with them on video chat. Friday night, he gets home as fast as he can, showers, and gives every second of his weekend to the kids. He even leaves 3am monday morning rather than sunday night (and stay in a hotel) because the kids want him there for bedtime. It irritates me that the dad's like "i don't have the time to talk to you everyday..." After watching Supernanny, i noticed dads often check out when kids behavior gets hard and they use their job as an excuse. And my doctor told my mother....."shes faking for attention"
After all the time I spent thinking I was insane, to find out that I wasn't rendered me into a pile of sobbing human flesh just out of joy. That now the part of my life that traumatized me and my family now had a name. A cause. I want crazy, I didnt fake it. Strep throat was the beginning, I dont know what the end was, but all I care about is that ended.

abuse solves nothing. it only creates more issues down the line.

Brain scan needed
Amber U there not all useful they would have to do a few
A brain scan could indicate 'which' parts of the brain are most active... but they're not great for properly diagnosing a behavior problem caused by PANDAS unless there are scans to compare it to. If she had an MRI prior to being sick, and then gets one now, then you have a good comparison to use.
She should get a brain scan. Some people who's personality suddenly change like this actually have a brain tumor or some sort of head trauma
Kyla h. I’ve watched videos about that too. That no one thought to do a brain scan after months of therapy for a personality disorder. Then they found a tumour pushing on a certain area. They removed it and after recovery he was the kid they all remembered.
She needs to go to the Amen Brain Clinic in Orange County, California.
