Because the car is amazing, and everyone and their mother is going to choose a mustang. That's why. I live in Texas and I'm bored of seeing straight piped mustangs everyday. I will own a G87 M2 someday. Somehow...

Depends where you are buddy too many M's over here Ive never seen a dark horse here or a gt500 I've only seen 1 mustang gt and it was a 2015 I think

You made the right choice. I too was strongly considering the RS3 but dealers had no idea of a time line. Picked up my new M2 in late Aug exact same spec as yours. Absolutely love it.

yo! nice m2! looks like you're in vegas also? I picked up a g87 in August and finally had break in service a few weeks ago. so just started with my mods. let me know if you head to any car meets in town.
Your car journey is hilarious to me because its mirroring mine exactly, you are just doing everything a bit faster than me. Just bought a Golf R not too long ago and have a M2 on order. Also had an RS3 on order but, also decided against it as i also felt like it'd just be a faster Golf R, and also almost got an M3 but decided against it because i just didnt like how it looked.

@@JVette01 any big mod plans for the M2? When mine gets here i'm probably going to do wheels first and then a lip, side skirts and rear diffuser after. I ordered mine with the M Performance suspension so i dont have to worry about doing that first.

I feel like as another car guy I totally appreciate various inputs that you have in this video. And funny I come in very similar path of getting GTI, Golf R (and an interesting divergence to ND Miata to feel the lightweight of a sports car lol) and then thought about RS3 but M2 came into picture so ordered one etc. I went to the track days with BMW this year and that kinda hammered this decision, you get so much value and potential from this car and it's really is a "steal".

I feel like you can't go wrong with either options, lol. The only reason I opted for M240i instead of M2 is due to the xdrive, which is much needed in my northeast region here. Hopefully in a few short years they will come up with a M2 xdrive (similar to M3 and M4) and I would trade it in for that instead.

Plus you really can’t go wrong at all with the B58. It makes better low end than the S58. Plus it’s the engine that put BMW on the map for most reliable AND in the fastest BMW.
i mean i love the rs3, it has always been my fav car in its class , kind of a shame that you didnt hear anything back from them for over a year, If i had the money i would get the rs3 in green or red,that 5 cylinder is epic, amazing noise, but still absolutely nothing wrong with the m2, its an excellent car, the engine is awesome., its really fast, just overall amazing car. The dark horse is also amazing ,the na v8 sounds amazing. if the m3 x drive comp was in your budget it would be an excellent car, the front grill is 50 50 for me, i know my friends absolutely hate the front grill on the new m3 but im like 50 50 on it. overall all great options for anyone.

I can’t find it when I google. My thoughts were with the engine sizes as to why the BMW could be a bit faster even at the 453HP V6 3.0L VS the Mustang 500HP V8 5.0L as far as weight.
It’s because the 2024 mustang is slightly overrated whereas the bmw is severely underrated. The bmw puts down anywhere between 30-50 more whp down than the mustang does. Also, gearing and powerband come into play as well
Hello - glad to see you’re liking the car so far. I am seriously looking into purchasing a brand new one as well for 80k including all the bells and whistles with that performance exhaust. I know that they usually go for $63k, do you think that’s unwise for me or a good value on the contrary?
I'd pick one thats 70k or less but if you see value in the carbon fiber package, etc, then go for it!

yeah i get same feeling about this dark horse, the car is good but the price is 2 high, and imagine 70k mustang cant even close to shelby edition. to be honest, i will pick gt350 or adding 15k for gt500 over the dark horse. i mean dark horse is good car but not worth the about 70k at all
tell me how in heck M2 G87 gives you good mileage please. I get 18 MPG on my F87 M2

@@JVette01 how much MPG are you currently driving via your drive style? i have to know because i really hate the 18mpg on mine and i drive pretty fast. definitely thinking about switching to Ioniq 5N next year.
If I drive hard I get upper teens. Crusing is low 20s
I guess you don’t buy an M2 with fuel mileage as a priority, it’s not that type of car, but a hybrid then 😂😂

Yup fit and finish and tech wise bmw is just way better. Im glad u didnt go for the rs3 i think it looks like a blob where as the m2 looks new and like a little muscle car. So unique in its styling. I have a m4 xdrive. Love it
Your reasoning sounds like you should've bought something like a supra/z4 or something similar that is an actual smaller dedicated sports car since it's just a weekend fun car and not a daily driver.
Can’t fit comfortably in a Supra and the m2 is better
@@JVette01 well, there are lots of other 2 seaters like gr86, coxster, evora, mx5, z4, c8, bleh bleh bleh whatever something something else more focused rather than sedan coupe, I kind of miss having a more focused sports car after replacing a heavily modified elise and brz with an f87 lci, but there are ways to make it more better of course
m2 is def better than the supra rn. but if they make an s58 supra that would be nuts@@JVette01

There are so many layers to the G8X M cars. After tracking the M3/M4 at Thermal club it's insane. I just wish the M2 could option the carbon ceramics. @@JVette01

I was too harsh 😂 Brooklyn gray looks okay just a bit too subtle and boring imo for a sports car. The blue color on the other hand I think is hideous but everyone has their own opinion.
@@JVette01 haha no worries at all. I’m not actually offended. I just thought it was funny. I think one of the biggest issue with these cars is the limited color options. The one unique color they have is that stupid blue one. We’re both in agreement on that one…ugly. The grey is ok, but I also agree it doesn’t stand out as much as I’d like. Got a ceramic coat put on mine and it does make it pop a bit more but at the end of the day it’s definitely a basic color.

I like your Golf R interior better than the BMW. If BMW had the previous generation look it would be much better without the giant screen and lack of control knobs.
The golf r also has screens.. just smaller.

They don’t make cars anymore aside from the Mustang. I’m not a SUV/Truck guy some I’m forced to go other brands… if I wanted a truck, I’d 100% get an F-150 though.
I was referring to the mustang really. I compare the golf r to the mustang gt a lot since they basically cost the same. I agree with everything you said about the mustang. I love mustangs, but i love cars in general. My only beef with the Golf R is that it can look more aggressive, especially for the price. @@JVette01
Why did you get an automatic? Way less fun.
Automatic is better in every measurable way than the manual.. and in my opinion, the automatic is more fun than the manual
@@JVette01 except for the fun factor. I get it, you can't drive a manual, or you're a younger guy that never learned. It's ok. The auto's are faster, who cares, there's always someone faster than you. I want a manual so you have more control of the car and the fun factor. If you don't like them, that's ok. It has nothing to do with sales, the car companies just don't want to spend the money on 2 transactions anymore and are pushing the Auto. Super lazy.
Why are you assuming things? I’ve known how to drive manual since I was 12 years old.. I have several videos on my channel driving manual trans vehicles.. Modern day autos like the ZF8 are so good.. if you would’ve asked me 10-15 years ago, then yeah I was a manual guy. I still respect them, just not for me.

I don’t have any rules. I just buy what I like and still try to be strategic with my money haha.
Not sure why you would have the M2 as a garage queen when it's nothing really special, and it's meant to be used daily, but hey. Enjoy it.
It’s not necessarily a garage queen. I have 5,000 miles over like 6 months of ownership and I drive the golf daily. I definitely drive it, sometimes I feel like too much haha

You chose the right car. Mustangs are so played out and overrated. I’ve never understood the mustang hype. Everyone has one. I have a 21 RS5 Sportback, love Audi, but going to an M car next. Audis are great, just too numb. You probably would’ve felt the same way about the RS3. My RS5 is tango red, I love red sports cars, too.

@@speeddemon311 I don’t like the RS3. Too small and not a fan of the design. The RS5/4 Competition is said to be the best driving Audi out right now.

@@speeddemon311 talking about drivers car. I’ve heard several say the RS5 Comp is the best daily car from Audi right now. The R8 is not obtainable for most people.
