As an RS3 owner, no doubt the M2 is a better performance car. I chose the RS3 because it’s more unique and more practical as my daily with better rear seats and AWD. Once you've seen the styling of the M2CS, I would be kicking myself as an M2 owner. Everything wrong with the styling of the standard M2 has been beautifully sculpted with the M2CS. If only they would have made the M2 with the front bumper styling of the M2CS, I wouldn't have picked the RS3. But ultimately that's what I chose, picking it up Sunday.
From the beginning it's obvious that the guy who talks the most in the video likes the M2 far more than the RS3 😊. No problem of course. I have the RS3 8Y myself and before that the RS3 8V. It's a shame that the exhaust sound of the 8Y is less than the sound of the 8V, but that's all. It's a fantastic car, superfast, aggressive if you want, comfortable if you like, depends on your mood. It doesn't matter to me which one is the fastest, you can't feel the difference between 3.8 and 3.9 sec from 0-100 km/h or whatever how fast the M2 is. The top speed of my 8Y is 290 km/h because of an extra sport package, but I'm nor really interested in that top speed. Why did I choose that package then? I bought the 8Y second hand (but as good as brand new with 3000 km), that package included. Anyway, both cars are great, fast and perhaps when I had the opportunity in the past to driving that M2, maybe I would have switched to BMW and maybe not. It's all a matter of personal taste. Thanks for sharing. Yes, I do prefer the BMW but I give all cars a fair shot. The 0-60 is similar, yes, but out on the road, the M2 feels much faster than the rs3. Stay tuned for the driving comparison.
@JVette01 Feels better with rear wheel drive perhaps but certainly less effective at getting around a corner apparently! Maybe the 25 M2 will close the gap and they'll be super close like last years results!

Both great cars, I came from an 8V S3 to my new G87 M2. Definitely don’t regret switching teams after being in them and driving both but they are both nice. M2 just takes the cake easily lol

I have a '23 RS 3, which I bought before the M2 came out. Would I have changed my mind if the M2 was available? No. I'm 5'10, so my height isn't an issue. Put the RS 3 into comfort mode, and it's like driving a cushy highway cruiser. I routinely get ~ 34 MPG averaging 70 MPH on the highway. Put it in Dynamic or RS mode, and you can run with the big dogs. When I was looking at cars, I compared the RS 3 with the Boxster/Cayman and found that you get slightly better performance for $30K-40K less with the RS 3 over the Porsche - plus two extra doors. Regarding the M2, yes, it's a great car, but, for me, I can't stand the dash, which looks like some tacked a couple of iPads on and called it a day. In addition, the styling leaves me cold. I've seen a few on the road and it's not one of those designs that looks better than the pictures. At least you don't have to look at it while you're driving it. Furthermore, there are some features that are stock on the RS3 that you'll pay for on the M2, like the cell phone charger. If I recall, an upgraded suspension on the M2 will run about 4 large whereas the RS3 already has the upgraded suspension. Anyway, great video!
Bmw fan boy vibes all day... The BMW M2 looks more sporty but the Audi has way more tunning support that makes it a bully on the streets thanks to Hank Iroz. We can arque this all day. So enjoy your video they are both great cars and healthy competition never hurt anyone. Stay safe.

Exactly. One thing that turned me off of the RS3 was the dimensions reminded me of my 2014 Chevy Cruize with that pint sized rear door. Rear half of the car is basic as hell

I actually find the M2 infotainment and dash styling to look way way less properly integrated then the RS3. Love the RS3 layout of the virtual cockpit and center screen. Perfect position for using while driving. If the M2 had the M2CS front styling, I'd absolutely get one. But now that I've seen the M2CS front styling, and how they beautifully molded the front bumper instead of looking like two big squares on each side, no way I would ever buy an M2 knowing that the M2CS styling exists.
Did you ever test drive the m240i? I’ve heard it’s a more comfortable daily than the M2, obviously this gen M2 is a M sports car. I’ve been an Audi fan my whole life but very seriously considering the m240i this next year as it would fit my daily needs well. I don’t know if I would use the full M2 power. Also having a hard time mentally preparing to spend that much on a car 😅

Did you test drive the M2 yet? My idea of comfortable may be different from yours. Yes, it’s a little harsh but it’s worth it. However, I can understand the appeal of a car with a little more comfortable ride like my RS3
my 24 RS3 needs an SOS module, but they gave me an A3 Quattro as a loaner. MAN, that thing just proved to me how much more the RS3 is than just being its big brother motor wise. The brakes in the A3 of course were awful, the steering wheel in the RS3 is much better, the A3 has a weird circle/want to be square wheel. It has the start/stop too which the RS3 doesn't which I like. The RS3 seats are much better as well as the dash. I know people say its just a motor in an RS3 but its def more than that. Sure some things like the tunnel plastic are the same, but tbh that's about it for being the same I noticed.

I would not buy a Tesla unless it's dirt cheap to use as a daily appliance. I didn't buy the car for RUclips. I never have. RUclips does not make me enough money to justify buying a car I don't like to milk content. I just thought I'd like the RS3 more.
The RS 3 is based on the Golf platform (MQB). What Audi did, I believe, to differentiate the RS from the rest while keeping the cost somewhat reasonable is: 1) Upgrade the upholstery (Napa leather and unique look) and tweak the interior a little, 2) upgrade the suspension and shocks, 3) add the torque splitter rear end, 4) drop in a heavy-duty dual clutch transmission, 5) add the 5-pot engine. Rumor has it the engine and transmission alone cost ~ $28K. In the end, you have a tricked-out Golf R that, even though it's expensive, the RS 3 gives you a lot of bang and (dare I say it) practicality for the performance buck.
As someone in the Philippines where I almost always see toyota cars like vios, Love the design of the rs3 but honestly i fuck with the m2 so much more because of the widebody rear and front compared to the rs3 which feels like a normal sedan with a lot of power!
@@JVette01 It really feels so powerful and dangerous if driven by an inexperienced driver! Switching from an isuzu suv to a bmw sports coupe is a big shift that took me a week to get in tuned with the basics.
The RS3 looks better on the outside. The M2 looks better on the inside. The M2 has better overall sport performance. The RS3 is an animal when it’s tuned, but really only in a straight line. For me, I can’t stand the look of the M2, so I would have to choose the RS3. But if I had the money, I wouldn’t buy either of them…

The S58 engine can get 700whp with a custom e50-e55 tune and a downpipe. All-in (even with femto ecu unlock) will be less than the price of the ECU alone in the 8Y RS3 since they're not able to be tuned.
Realistically, no one is doing max effort.. thats very few and far between.. it's a daily driver.. Much less effort required for much more gains in the S58.. stock turbo, stock fuel system, downpipe only.. RS3 is cool but takes way more work and I have NO interest in doing all that.
“Better” is a relative term. To me, better would be the one that’s easier and cheaper to get more power out of. In this case, the S58 is much easier and cheaper to get power out of than the rs3
The RS3 isn't a bad car per se. Its extremely fast from a dig. However, mechanically it's too similar to a Golf outside the engine and suspension. RS3 is still FWD biased which turns track enthusiasts away. The M2 is just the better sports car. Like c'mon, it's RWD, faster on a track, more engaging / funner to drive, is a 2-door coupe, AND comes in a manual! M2 is simply the better drivers car. p.s the RS3 looks identical to an S3. just take off the badges and you'll never notice the difference lol. The new M cars look way more distinguishable from their counterparts then the past generations which I love.

Quiet power, incognito. I just like Audi's. 5 cylinder turbo engines, too. Sounds amazing with a proper exhaust system. Keep the bottom side down. 👍

For me, it comes down to RWD manual transmission car vs AWD automatic transmission car. At this point, I'm in the RWD manual transmission camp.

I just took the rs3 to the mountains the other day and it does handle very well. However, the bmw still handles better

You have to spend at least 5k to get a separate ecu from iroz if you want to tune it because the ecu is not cracked yet. Not worth it for my purposes.
The RS3 headlights are adaptive right? They move while turning, by x3m does the same.
