    @TomShirazi 5 месяцев назад +4

    If put the RS3's transmission into S mode, it will change the gear shift points and keep the engine in a Rev range that makes it a lot more responsive.

    • @JVette01
      @JVette01  5 месяцев назад

      It's still very peaky and no low end torque. Also, it's impractical to drive in "S" all the time when you're just commuting. I was hoping it would be more responsive in the normal settings.

      No, he needs to be putting it in its actual RS Performance mode, not the stupid dynamic mode every Audi has when he compares it to things. We know he knows that he has an RS3 and an M2. So he def knows his cars

    I just took my 2024 M2 on a 300 mile trip through central Oregon, mostly 55 mph speed limits. I never got bored or tired driving it and it got an overall 31.6 mpg for the whole trip. The car is in still break in period with 700 miles so I went easy. I did notice it does turn the heads of teenage males. It was a pain to get out all the dead bugs out of the front grills and of course the wheels were covered in brake dust. It was a wonderful drive and the only thing the car is missing is the center lane keeper, where the car steers to the center of the lines. My Golf R had it and my wife’s Honda Accord Touring has it…and I miss not having it on the M2. I had to concentrate more to keep the car centered. It’s not a bad thing…it’s just something I like in a car. Other than that, it’s M2 all the way. If I were to get an Audi, I’d save some money and just get the Audi S3 or even just the Audi A4. I’m totally turned off of the price of the RS3. In Oregon, dealers are charging $10k to $15K over MSRP on the RS3.

    • @speeddemonRS3
      @speeddemonRS3 4 месяца назад +1

      @jimdrivas4949 I paid MSRP but waited 17 months for it! Both are great cars, but I absolutely love everything about the RS3 and think it was worth 65k, but certainly not 10k over lol!! I think the car will hold it's value incredibly well in the long run since the US market only got about 1k of them for two years! Enjoy the M2 it's a beast of a car!

      Thanks for sharing! I agree about the lane centering. I loved that in my Golf R and the RS3 has it as well but doesn't seem to work as good.

      I already talked about this in the video. A lot has to do with tires. Either way, doesn’t matter because the M2 feels better while driving imo so idc if it’s 10 seconds faster or slower on Nurburgring. What matters is which one drives better.

    M2. I’ve gotten into both Audis and BMWs, and Audis just don’t feel as good in terms of ergonomics. One dimension always feels off. The space in the BMW and all of the touch points are incredible while driving on the track or an auto cross. The handling inspired a lot of confidence in my experience.

  • @chrism869
    @chrism869 5 месяцев назад +3

    I dont think the turbo lag on the rs3 is that bad but I have not driven it personally so I cant say for sure, its definitely pretty quick but given it was over 110 degrees outside the performance was probably affected a bit. The m2 isnt that much faster but it is faster, both are mid to high 11 sec 1/4 mile cars with ideal conditions. I did see a vid of the 2022 rs3 on a drag strip that ran an 11.76 at 117, but the guy in the description said in his other run he did 11.55 whitch was the fastest stock 2022 rs3 , not sure what the trap speed was but im guessing it was around 118 to 119. But in this 110 degree weather the m2 definitely looked quicker. Nevertheless both awesome cars.

    • @JVette01
      @JVette01  5 месяцев назад +2

      The rs3 puts up a good 1/4mi time because it’s AWD. Once moving, the m2 is significantly faster both in the real world and on paper.

    • @Rs3Matt
      @Rs3Matt 5 месяцев назад

      Mine trapped 118 stock. With e30 and jb4 it traps 124 with just midpipes. Bolt ons and intercooler it traps 127. Just needs a tune and it will run 10’s @130. S58 is a better engine 5 cylinder just sounds better and more unique. I actually like the m2 just hard to not go awd especially when making more power with mods. G80 is a high price to step up too for awd.

    • @JVette01
      @JVette01  5 месяцев назад

      If you’re happy with your rs3 then just keep it. I’m surprised you got a 118 trap in a stock car. You must have excellent conditions to trap higher than car and driver (which always has optimistic times). Btw, you can’t tune the 8Y RS3 so that’s not an option unless you spend 6k+ for a standalone ecu.

    M2 G87 makes the RS3 look very ordinary and it will be a collectors item going forward unlike the Audi

    • @JVette01

      @Jack-fr9bk what makes you say that, thats not a very intellectual response the RS3 is very ordinary and mostly mass produced the fact that the M2 was not universally accepted initially goes in its favour it has made it appealing to the more mature buyer it will like most fast M cars be worth a lot more than the equivalent RS3 in years to come I look forward to an intelligent retort on the matter Jack
