In the owners manual, it states the exhaust button does not do anything unless the car is up to temperature. Maybe thats why for you there was no difference?
@@JVette01 might be as well. But check page 131 of owners manual: „During the engine warm-up phase, sound control (the button) does not have any effect on the sound of the exhaust system.“
Besides the M card to lock/unlock/start your M2, you can also program your phone as a digital key to do the same. With the phone you have to touch the lock “lines” on the door handle for the phone to work and you have to put the phone in the charging stand to start the car. The M sound button I believe amplifies the exhaust sound through the speakers. It’s the fake noise you hear in lots of cars including the Golf R. It always defaults ON. After starting the car, you have to hit the button to turn off the fake sound. I love the brake hold button which can be defaulted to ON so at a stop, you can take your foot off the brake and the car doesn’t roll forward. I also like that the auto start/stop button can be set to always default to OFF. Have you found out how under sport mode to show the vitals on the infotainment screen? M2 seems to hook WAY better than the M4 comp rwd, which is great. M4/M3 comp needs xdrive. Rwd comp traction control either intervenes and robs all the power/fun or turn off tc and spin 1-3rd gear. You can actually start and launch in 1st gear with the m2!

It feels quicker at the top end. The b58 has great torque so it takes off similar but the s58 keeps piling on speed whereas the b58 kinda flatlines after the initial pull
Not only +20hp which is minimal, but also improved throttle response and suspension tuning. Plus flat bottom steering wheel, new M2 badges and iDrive 8.5. However, it is an extra $1,400 base price. I think the steering stays straight due to unusually wide front tires needed because the car is disproportionately heavy.
I think it’s just the way it’s designed. My Mustang was also “front heavy” and the steering wheel went back like normal

S on the shifter means sport mode. It will keep the revs higher and have better throttle response. They have done this since the f series
In M cars, S is Sequential mode which is equivalent to manual mode.

What about pressing the SET button on the steering wheel to deactivate the speeding warning (which is a pain) ?
I don't have that activated.. never got a speed warning chime.
Your exhaust function may not be working because its suppose to get louder when turned on.
It does but it only works in sport and sport plus. Efficient mode will always have a quiet exhaust regardless of what the button says
