She’s a nepo-baby who’s going to be inheriting a fortune. Of course she’s disconnected from reality. Never mind the target/Amazon fashion try ons from her $5 million house
Rachel is so incredibly spoiled and out of touch it's ridiculous. She has a freaking personal trainer 3 times a week and doesn't recognize how incredibly luxurious that is to the average person. her home is also worth more than 2 million dollars as a conservative estimate. She is a 5 all around and should own it.
Hiring a personal trainer is basically a 5, even if its once a week. You can literally do the same thing with a youtube video, and its free.... Her definition of frugal is like the upper class calling the middle class poor.
And didn't she say her other car is a Tesla??? The combined rating for a Tesla & a minivan is clearly a 5 - or if we're doing 1/2 points, I'd be willing to give her 1/2 point off for a total of 4.5

Like they said, there’s no guilt if you can budget it and afford it. For me, bogie used to be the name brand chips. Now I will occasionally justify a non second hand clothing item. It’s what you can afford. Thank yall for this fun video!
I usually skip through the sponsor portions of videos and podcasts, but want to make a comment that I have used Tello phone plans for our two kids for the last year or two and they have been phenomenal. Excellent pricing. Excellent communication. No hassles.
Did she pay $2.4 in 2019 to build it, OR is it worth $2.4M? Those are very different things - current value vs how much she paid 5 years ago to build it after saving for 10 years. The appreciation of her home has dramatically increased in the last 5 years - pre-pandemic vs post pandemic housing market.
And, to be clear, I see nothing wrong with her having a nice house! It just comes across a little silly/out of touch to associate that kind of house with frugality lol.

I also spend a bit extra for fitness but not nearly as much as Rachel. My weights, bands, and yoga mat were purchased new but my exercise bike is from the 90's and I got it for free.
Not gonna lie it doesn't sound like Rachel Cruz is very frugal in anything.... It is understandable tho...I'm sure she isn't poor by any means. She's probably a millionaire 😊
How ridiculous. This was honestly uncomfortable to watch compared to an average income family. She thinks a $55,000 minivan is frugal just because it’s a minivan?!

When I buy them I try to go with good quality just because I don't want to buy them again in a few months... still the last time I got anything clothes releted was 2 years ago (but I got new shoes a little more often because they do not last more than 18 months). 1 - Groceries I try to wait for sales but I always go with quality stuff like I always got kg of parmigiano in my fridge (I just love it), I always buy good quality pasta bronze cut. Still sometimes at the farmer market I can find better quality product that are also cheaper by weight like tomatoes right now. I also make everything that is possible from scratch (like bread, fresh pasta, nesquik (yes I make it from scratch), pesto, tomato sauce etc...) so even when I buy good quality product they are still usually cheaper than some already made crap at the supermarket. I think it is a fair 3. - I hate to travel for more than a few days each year and I still try to stay cheap... 1 - I spend 3,50€ each month for my phone plan (here it's usually most people spend 8€)... 1 - I don't own a car. 1 - Self care.... 1 (I got a shampoo and soap). - Eating out... I go once in a while... when I go I try to stay cheap but I also like to eat well so I don't mind spending a little bit more to get better food... still I don't go out often at all. 2 (but maybe compared to americans I should say 4 or 5, since I never go out to fast food, I hate fake food, let's go with 5). - Concert and events 1. I just don't go. - Coffee... I don't like coffee but I like milk and nesquik and other drinks and I go every week with my family at a bar so 5. 27... So I think I'm frugal. And I like it.

There is an episode where Dave tells us that Rachel and her husband gets paid the same as everyone else. No more no less, and she has to live on what they make.
@@kitrivers979I think you misunderstood. Dave said the personalities have the same base pay. Rachel has books she makes a lot of money from and gets bonuses after speaking at events. Her husband runs the company and is not a personality. They do not make the same as everyone else.
I think what a lot of people are missing in this comment section is that yes she gets “paid the same as the others”, but she came out of college into the company with that at 22. So, it’s pretty insane for someone who was 22 with no experience to be paid at the a “world class speaking and financial expert” level. Not too many other places at that age and stage of career can you get that pay level expect your parents company.
Man, I’m like a one or a 2 on everything. No gym ( or trainer), I avoid going downtown to avoid paying for parking, we eat out once a month or less, I haven’t been to a concert in 20 years, I drive a Subaru Outback that’s more than 10 years old that we bought used and paid cash for, I spend very little on clothing since I buy very little (though I do buy quality, I wear things until they are worn out beyond repair and do not follow trends). I dye my hair at home and give my kids and husband buzz cuts, Our house is small and more than half of our furniture is second hand) . We go on family road trips on a budget, and I buy books second hand. I am a little bougie about buying only high quality bedding, shoes, sofas/sectionals, wrinkle cream, and healthy groceries. We also spend a lot on kids sports and scouts and we are saving for a trip to Europe. Gotta live a little 🤷♀️
I recently decided that I am no longer sitting in the lawn for a concert. Also when flying delta (without kids) i'm upgrading out of the main cabin. otherwise I'm pretty frugal.
I am 1 in all areas. Even groceries, I can do $60 to $70 a week for 3 people. If I need to get TP and paper towels it be like $100. My managers can't be believed into i showed them my recipients. I am proud of how many things I do to save monet.
@someoneelse6934 , sorry for what? My son calls me cheap. I am not cheap, I am very smart with money. I have no debt, but my house and I have 23 months left to pay. I do not take off work unless I have to. I have rarely got sick, but when I do, it is like 106 temps since I was little. My dad is the same way. My wife is the spender. After the bills are paid, any leftover money from her check, she will go get it.
@Nicolllld , yeah, I agree. I only get what we need to live. I know hot dogs are not good for you, but I like them. You can do a lot of things with Tuna. It's really not that I don't have the money for things. Before, I was overspending on a lot. I get what we need, and my wife gets ant wants. I don't want much. I have very little wants. I have everything I ever wanted. A good family.
A three in cars???? 😆 LMBO. The most I've ever paid for a vehicle is $8k. Mostly beaters between $2k-$3k. I'm currently rocking a '98 Silverado i got for $4.5k AND it came with an extra set of mounted tires. In this day and age i felt i hit the jackpot! That truck is my baby. Lol. Tesla and a $55k minivan doesn't sound like a three to me lol.
Rachel might be bougie compared to you, but for her income she is incredibly frugal. It’s all relative. She COULD have a Porsche, personal chef, designer clothes, etc etc but she decides not to. She is frugal.
If she is frugal for her income wtf do you call a multimillionaire that lives in a 400k house, does deals to get cash back, does secret shops for the food and free car washes and drives a 13 year old car that was mid to low level when it was bought lol.
This is a good point. I rated myself at a 30 total, but was comparing to my previous self who couldn't afford not to be frugal and to my other friends that struggle financially. To them, if I told them that I consider my $17K used minivan purchase bougie but I use it as a mobile hotel room so I can travel for cheaper, they would probably blink in confusion. Bougie hits different at vastly different incomes.
She’s being honest to a point. What I have a problem with is is someone who has there nails done, latest phone car etc, smokes ,top of the line computers etc and then says there cheap.
Frugal is how you spend and manage your money, not how much money you have. I know people completely broke who are extremely bougie, and I worked a job where I saw first hand the people with the most money were the MOST frugal. If you spend your money responsibly you can be frugal no matter how much money you have.
She does not come from money. When she was a toddler her father lost everything!!! They started over from zero. He has built his business over 30 years.
Something some people need a little help remembering, whether a purchase is bougie or frugal is relative to the person's overall financial status. Buying a $50,000 car when you make $50,000 a year and have little savings is stupid bougie. Buying a $50,000 car when you make $500,000 and have a multi-million net worth is being very frugal. It's perfectly reasonable for a wealthy person to claim to be frugal when spending money in a way that a poor person would see as super bougie. It's also possible for rich people to be "stupid frugal" where they spend a lot of their time and effort saving, what is to them, small amounts of money, where it would make sense for a poor person to take the time to save the same amount of money.
Even as someone who is working up through the baby steps, and no longer having to live the forced frugal lifestyle like I have in the past.. this was not very relatable. It was nice to think forward to reaching millionaire status and not caring about getting more “bougie” in some of these categories! Also, it’s okay not having to be frugal anymore once you have grown your wealth and are using it wisely!
Rachel has a minivan, good ones are between 50-80k and she has a yoke steering wheel tesla which is 75-95k. Shes a 5 on cars, house, and fitness(156 paid training sessions per year)
My most absolute favorite Ramsey Duo!!!!!! Y’all are the best and fantastic!! I never miss a show if you are both hosting!!!! Thanks for the fun and encouragement!!! Learned at a young age thru my immigrant parents of the hard work and labor it takes to earn a penny. They are def frugal and no money troubles! I’ve learned a lot from them so much so…that we don’t have any debt and 5 yrs from paying off our mortgage!! Love the tip for paying extra on mortgage and our lender has no issues!! Thank you for the extra encouragement!
13:48 pssssssh ;) If the minivan is a Honda Odyssey Elite (or any other top trim of minivan), it ain't frugal UNLESS you waited 5 years and got a deal on one in great shape. Those things are like a palace on wheels.
14:14 - haha that's actually what I wanted too for a family car. I have a Model Y LR that is somewhat murdered out except for the emblems and headlights/taillights (I think those are too excessive). Black exterior on Black interior with Black rim covers and tinted windows. Looks great, and if I were to get a fun sporty car, I think I'd want maybe a deep red color (I'd prob get a Model 3 LR or Performance).
Rachel! It’s great that you support authors, but how about supporting your local library, in order to help your public friends and neighbors be frugal and just because it’s a good thing to do. (Spoken by a mother of a public librarian). BTW, the library has more than just books for you and your kids!
I think I’m a 1 or 2 on everything but travel. For travel I’m a 3 or 3.5. My house would be a 5 for my income except that I rent out rooms to offset the high monthly costs and improve my income. That said, a lot of things that were 1s for me a year or two ago are now 2s. I’m starting to loosen my spending a little. Although for parking, books and self care I’m still a 1.
Yeah, it makes me sad that people of means aren’t supporting small businesses. Same with the books. Indie bookstore support authors the most by hosting readings. Not to mention creating community. And keeping money in the community.
I like this. Buying quality cars is actually frugal, just not cheap or junky. Buying store brand groceries, and clothes at Old Navy and Target are also frugal. A personal trainer and valet parking are definitely #5 bougie! George’s clipping coupons for almost everything is over the top frugal, too bad there wasn’t a zero rating for that! Lol. High end coffee and personal hygiene products are # 5 bougie; however, both are less costly than Rachel’s bougie travel, personal trainer and valet parking. Love you guys. Huge respect for being unashamedly yourselves!!
She is pretty level headed for a wealthy person from a wealthy family. Those sandals are a wreck, but she is wearing them instead of something expensive. But also, having two nice cars is a 5 automatically.
A trainer is a 5! That’s premium.

Her husband doesn't have anything to do with Ramsey Solutions.
He's Dave's rental property manager
The outfit coordination is lovely!!!
I'm a 1 with George on parking ALLLL the way! Haha
Taylor swift twice and “I want good seats, so I’m a 1” 😂
Love this segment!
Gotta live a little 🤷♀️
I love watching the two of you. I enjoyed this one. 👑👸🤴
I recently decided that I am no longer sitting in the lawn for a concert. Also when flying delta (without kids) i'm upgrading out of the main cabin. otherwise I'm pretty frugal.
this was great. thanks!
I am 1 in all areas. Even groceries, I can do $60 to $70 a week for 3 people. If I need to get TP and paper towels it be like $100. My managers can't be believed into i showed them my recipients. I am proud of how many things I do to save monet.
I’m sorry
@someoneelse6934 , sorry for what? My son calls me cheap. I am not cheap, I am very smart with money. I have no debt, but my house and I have 23 months left to pay.
I do not take off work unless I have to. I have rarely got sick, but when I do, it is like 106 temps since I was little. My dad is the same way. My wife is the spender. After the bills are paid, any leftover money from her check, she will go get it.
We do $70 a week for 4 . It’s hard, but we also eat out at least once a week :)
@@Nicolllldthat’s really low! what kinds of foods do you buy or meals to keep everyone fed/happy?
A trainer is a 5 Rachel 😂
A three in cars???? 😆 LMBO. The most I've ever paid for a vehicle is $8k. Mostly beaters between $2k-$3k. I'm currently rocking a '98 Silverado i got for $4.5k AND it came with an extra set of mounted tires. In this day and age i felt i hit the jackpot! That truck is my baby. Lol. Tesla and a $55k minivan doesn't sound like a three to me lol.
@George Kamel: I feel like I have a crush on Rachel Cruze. She is something. Nice video.
@@bitsnbytes10 I call that extremely frugal 😂
This is a good point. I rated myself at a 30 total, but was comparing to my previous self who couldn't afford not to be frugal and to my other friends that struggle financially. To them, if I told them that I consider my $17K used minivan purchase bougie but I use it as a mobile hotel room so I can travel for cheaper, they would probably blink in confusion. Bougie hits different at vastly different incomes.
Informative & Fun
I would have given Rachel a 1 on clothes… and I love it! She shops at Walmart and Target and dresses so nicely! Love it ❤
Yeah, but also Golden Goose Sneakers for $600 and LV bag that currently costs $2k, etc.
She’s being honest to a point. What I have a problem with is is someone who has there nails done, latest phone car etc, smokes ,top of the line computers etc and then says there cheap.
There's no way George was ever coming out of this fancier than Rachel.😂
Calling herself frugal is wrong. She is no where near that, she came from money and branding herself frugal is so out of touch
Frugal is how you spend and manage your money, not how much money you have. I know people completely broke who are extremely bougie, and I worked a job where I saw first hand the people with the most money were the MOST frugal. If you spend your money responsibly you can be frugal no matter how much money you have.
@@cassandrawessel7452 agree. I have a comfy bank account but frugality is what got me here, why would I change that?
@@cassandrawessel7452
P
She does not come from money. When she was a toddler her father lost everything!!! They started over from zero. He has built his business over 30 years.
@@taehyung7714 rich people stay rich by being frugal. It's not a new concept.
Hey, I grew up with Jack LaLane. Working out at home with whatever you had in the house.
And...Amen, George. God gave us legs to park and walk.
9:50 "Is Publix bougie" Yes, yes it is. Like my Southern grocery shopping is Walmart + Aldi, and Kroger occasionally if they don't have what I need.
Please do this game with other Ramsey personalities!
How about supporting the independent book sellers... if you aren't going to use the library........
This was great.
Love tello- doesn't work in AK, FYI. Got an esim, so Tello still a winner in my book!
I’m a 1 in all of these categories but I still feel broke :/
13:48 pssssssh ;)
If the minivan is a Honda Odyssey Elite (or any other top trim of minivan), it ain't frugal UNLESS you waited 5 years and got a deal on one in great shape.
We bought the red! We love the colour. It was non negotiable. We don't spend on many things but the red colour....
Minivan does not equate frugal. Those things are like $50,000 base
Inspiring!
Rachel! It’s great that you support authors, but how about supporting your local library, in order to help your public friends and neighbors be frugal and just because it’s a good thing to do. (Spoken by a mother of a public librarian). BTW, the library has more than just books for you and your kids!
Ha ha this is funny. George I was so gonna give you a 5 for the hair, so so glad you know your truth 😂
Those crowns better be in the budget :D
Rachel, where did you get your shoes?
I think I’m a 1 or 2 on everything but travel. For travel I’m a 3 or 3.5. My house would be a 5 for my income except that I rent out rooms to offset the high monthly costs and improve my income.
That said, a lot of things that were 1s for me a year or two ago are now 2s. I’m starting to loosen my spending a little. Although for parking, books and self care I’m still a 1.
You have to make a meme clip of Rachel saying "We need to hear each other" while wearing the crown. hahahaha
She could be miss America for that haha
Publix is definitely bougie!
Publix is expensive AF.
Publix is bougie unless-you only buy bogo items
Im frougie 😂 love it!
Love Racheal, she’s slamming, but go away 😂

I LOVED this video!!❤️❤️❤️
This is wild. Y’all are both wealthy and that’s fine.
WE. LOVE. RACHEL. ❤
Interesting episode. Watching from South Africa 🔥🔥👌👌
Oh man! Don’t dog the boutiques! Us small business owners still trying to make it lol!
Yeah, it makes me sad that people of means aren’t supporting small businesses. Same with the books. Indie bookstore support authors the most by hosting readings. Not to mention creating community. And keeping money in the community.
I like this video!
Hey, I remember it mentioned on here that Rachel’s home has automatic timers for spraying yard for mosquitoes. That’s Bougie.
I’d love to know where she got her shoes? My wife would love those!
She is pretty level headed for a wealthy person from a wealthy family. Those sandals are a wreck, but she is wearing them instead of something expensive. But also, having two nice cars is a 5 automatically.
Minivans are SO EXPENSIVE! 😅
I'm retired, so I quit buying books and use the library. (I do miss buying though)
Also, NO ONE should EVER share ANYTHING in Panama City Beach
I’m frugal…I don’t thinking I have any bougie categories…except for travel. I’m a 3.
