For us folks who love bluegrass and fiddle music, we are fortunate to be alive today and hear Michael Cleveland. He is so head and shoulders above everybody else, there is no one close. His imaginative runs are windows into his mind. Yes, he is technically perfect but it is his improvisational skills that set him apart.

I played music with these two men when they were boys....it is great to see where they have went with their music.....I wish Nathan would give us some Rawhide
I witnessed Kenny Baker and Bill Munroe play this "anthem" at the Opry in '75. I left there thinking I had seen the very best. That was until seeing this incredible prodigy!
Many great musicians built the foundations of bluegrass over 4 generations to get bluegrass to this level. I heard Monroe, Chubby Wise, Benny Martin, Kenny Baker and dozens of the masters in every note. Thank the founding fathers for Bluegrass. Michael just bring the ghosts of the past to life!

I first heard this amazing fiddle player at the age of 18, playing for Dale Ann Bradley. He played Orange Blossom Special. I knew then I was watching a future star of bluegrass music.

I heard Cleveland live a few years ago ... incredible, of course. There are a ton of videos on YT but usually he's playing so damn fast it's almost a blur. I especially like this one because it's got some slower and more melodic stuff than many others. Beautiful!
It craves something from the listener too. I find it very relaxing. I think you have to come down in a state of mind to be able to hear and notice the finess in hes playing. Kind like meditating..
