This is country as hell and I love it. There is an apple pie sitting on the counter 🙂 Great playing -- it is great seeing 2 people who love what they do -- doing it -- and doing it great!

These vids always make me sad that I grew up where I did. I had uncles who dabbled with the Doc Watson stuff but they were weekend plucker type guys. Acoustic was in my bones and until my friends literally forced me to buy an electric I was playing all of the Stevie Ray Vaughan solos on acoustic lol. If I'd have had this avenue available to me I never would have looked back. I played the blues about as hard as you can for about 20 years and I could never say I wasted a second of time, but during covid I stumbled across Billy Strings and through him found Tony Rice and I'm playing like a teenager again. Thankfully the Stevie Ray-style open-stuff kept my flatpicking relatively sharp and I'm picking up the playing through your chords thing pretty quick, but I never felt the joy I get, or at least I don't remember, when I lift one of Tony's songs. I have to put some fingers in Church Street Blues because the man simply was not human lol, but I connect with this stuff instantly, something that I broke my ass trying to accomplish with the blues and honestly never could, not on the level I was shooting for. When I see these people play in casual settings I spend more time drifting off with the music, imagining what it looks like outside, like there's always gonna be beautiful rolling hills, green swamp willow's and Carolina stars lol.

I have been torn on whether or not to get one of those bug assault guns or not. I think the difficulty in getting rimfire ammo has made up my mind though!
