I have had the pleasure of talking a bit with Wayne quite a few times, and we always had fun. I am also a Luthier here in Virginia, about an hour or so from Wayne's place, but have not talked to him in years. I really need to visit him soon. He is a national treasure, and as friendly and humble as one person can be. My guitars will never be as good as a Henderson, but I will keep trying to reach anywhere close to his level of the art.

I've read "Clapton's Guitar" but it's a treat to just hear what a down-to-earth, humble guy Wayne is. It's nice to know there are people with talent who stay grounded in this age where there are many with not so much talent who think so much of themselves.

I know I will never own one of his works but it is a privilege to see a Stradivarius level artist in our time. Great video. Thanks for sharing. Something in the water in that part of the country. So many great builders but Mr. Henderson is the peak of guitar builders on those Appalachian Mountains.

How interesting this story about Mr. Henderson is however, I played guitar for 50 years and honestly never heard of him until watching this video today. I used to be able to play eletric, steel strings and, now I mostly play my 2 favorite classical guitars because the treble strings are plastic. This is easier on my finger tips now that I hit the big 62, the necks are wider but, my hands are big enough so, I still play them daily. I can remember first learning how to Travis picking over 30 years ago, my playing took off like a rocket. I play guitar, fiddle, mandolin and, keyboards some as well. I thank you for sharing this video about Mr. Henderson, it's been an absolute treat learning about this fine guitar maker and, fine guitar player!

I have read the book not long after it came out, went with my dad as he and Wayne set down and talked for a while. I got Wayne to sign my book and he told me Allen was there so find him to get it sign so I got both of them to sign my book an been on the shelf since then. That was June 16 2012 and my dad was so happy to talk to Wayne as my dad played just about anything with strings.
