One of the things that stuck with me about this movie is that memory is subjective. You might remember something one way and it happened completely differently. So it's especially cool to watch this trailer 19 years later and note things like "this trailer isn't doing the movie justice at all" and "I honestly don't remember Robin Williams starring in this". This is how the Mandela Effect actually works I assume, we collectly misremember things in the same way, for whatever reason. Pretty atypical part for Williams.

I heard about this film for the first time today. A description of the premise reminded me of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," and then I saw that both films were released in 2004. An example of the twin-films phenomenon?
The description of "The Final Cut" also recalls an older film, David Cronenberg's "Videodrome" (1983).

I am curious to why two of the funniest actors Robin Williams and Jim Carry both releases sad films based on Memories in the year 2004. based on a Final Cut left out by the "Framers" of King James Version...¶...Then the Holy Spirit who was speaking with him caught him up on high to the third heaven, and he passed beyond to the fourth heaven. The Holy Spirit spoke to him, saying, "Look and see your likeness upon the earth." And he looked down and saw those who were upon the earth. He stared and saw those who were upon the [...]. Then he gazed down and saw the twelve apostles at his right and at his left in the creation; and the Spirit was going before them.
But I saw in the fourth heaven according to class - I saw the angels resembling gods, the angels bringing a soul out of the land of the dead. They placed it at the gate of the fourth heaven. And the angels were whipping it. The soul spoke, saying, "What sin was it that I committed in the world?" The toll-collector who dwells in the fourth heaven replied, saying, "It was not right to commit all those lawless deeds that are in the world of the dead". The soul replied, saying, "Bring witnesses! Let them show you in what body I committed lawless deeds. Do you wish to bring a book to read from?"
And the three witnesses came. The first spoke, saying, "Was I not in the body the second hour [...]? I rose up against you until you fell into anger and rage and envy." And the second spoke, saying, "Was I not in the world? And I entered at the fifth hour, and I saw you and desired you. And behold, then, now I charge you with the murders you committed." The third spoke, saying, "Did I not come to you at the twelfth hour of the day when the sun was about to set? I gave you darkness until you should accomplish your sins." When the soul heard these things, it gazed downward in sorrow. And then it gazed upward. It was cast down. The soul that had been cast down went to a body which had been prepared for it. And behold, its witnesses were finished."...

GGggr Aaaah Yes! Would take a life time to watch, but definitely worth it, especially at the very end.
When they implement these devices in people, and they will for "safety, security and insurance" purposes, a whole new set of privacy laws will have to be created.
For example, if someone like Jeffrey Epstein had a video implant inside of him, would anyone have the right to view its data? Would the public have the right to demand what REALLY happened to him moments before his death?
Will a judge have the legal authority to have your implant data scanned if you are simply SUSPECTED of committing a crime, risking all of your life's private moments to someone you don't know and can't possibly trust?
What a Pandora's box of nightmarish hell!

I did not understand this movie. The implant is paid for by parents who never see any benefit from spending that money. In fact the recipient gets no benefit. In fact only the children of the recipient get any benefit, and the risks of information theft and misuse vastly outweigh the slight benefit.

Robin William's character is a cutter, it's his job to take the Zoe implant and edit the person's life down into a movie that his friends and family can watch and there is a fairly strict code for cutters. "Their code forbids them to mix footage from implants, to have the requisite implant, or to sell memories." The movie deals with some of the stuff you mention but I guess you'll have to watch it to really see what it gets into. He gets a job with a well-known figure, known to be a bit of a scum bag and another former cutter tries to get the footage off of him because he thinks he can use the footage to shut down the company which makes the implants.
